We returned after hours. Instructions on drop box said go to a particular online U-Haul site and click on a particular link. We found no such link at that site. Instead I had to log into my U-Haul account and use my contract number to launch the process. After that it was fine, but it took us probably 30-minutes to discover that. -s

Ensure that employees are present and knowledgeable. The lady was nowhere to be found for at least 10-15 minutes and she couldnt answer any of my questions about the uhaul. Also, it would be nice if a uhaul for a long trip reservation was provided with a decent amount of gas. The contract says mine had 3/8 but it was actually a 1/4 when I actually got in so I couldnt even make it conveniently to get my belongings right away because I had to fill it up first when I really just wanted to get on the road already.

Alright to start, despite giving me state drivers license and offering second form of I. d the rep wanted a number of somebody that could attest to my identity. I get into what looks like a vehicle in good shape and as I'm driving away I turn the AC on to find it will only blow to the defroster and foot vents. As it gets dark I go to turn in the lights and the knob poos right off. The total rental for the day was 149.00 for that price I could have rented a truck gotten unlimited miles and had it for 3 days. I will never be using uhaul again.

The initial hookup went okay but then a second person took over which slowed things down. Two and a half hours into travel, a tire blew out on the rented trailer on the FREEWAY which left my family stranded in the rain on the side of the road. Luckily they were close enough to home to have family come and take the children off the freeway while my nephew waited to be rescued with help from Uhaul at the receiving end. Clearly better maintenance needs to be done on the equipment and I'm happy no one was hurt/killed. Bad, Uhaul, bad

This trailer had a broom taken to it, yes. Was it clean what so ever? Absolutely not. Every single item in this trailer we rented was filthy, covered in dirt and debris of whatever the prior renter used it for. This trailer literally needed a pressure wash before renting it out to another renter. We had to make multiple Landry mat visits (didn’t want whatever was on our stuff in our washer), spent ample amounts of time cleaning, and some items where dirty to the extent of which could not be cleaned and was trashed. (4 month old baby stuff) Clearance yellow marker lights were spastic, hitting bumps would make them flash, creating distractions. If I did have a lock on the back latch, that door felt as if it would open hitting any bumps. In my opinion this trailer needs a new door, or shouldn’t be rented out. It clearly was very old, and poor design. I think it fair to receive some type of refund for the issues incurred. Our time, and money spent on cleaning items.

I had this challenge/problem. I rereserved a car dolly at tire and rim place of of 23rd street in Bakerstield on Monday before the Friday. it may have been Country Tire and Rim any way went they have it. They told me I had to go over to the one on North Chester in Bakerstield, then they had the wrong one so they told me I had to go to the one on Union and Brundage in Bakerstield. I needed to be at the place where I was going camping at certain time that’s I choose the one off of 23rd because last year they had the car Dolly’s over there, easy pick up and go. I hope not to have this problem in the future. The car dolly was nice and fairly new with the braking system on it. I am disabled and made it a lot harder for me to take of my RV so I had to get some one to help me do it so as I can park my RV in the the spot that I wanted without the dolly. Anyway it was a very good car dolly and handled well on the road.

We had a trailer reserved at the White Ln location in Bakersfield. I drove 4 hours from San Diego to pickup a car and when I was on my way to pick up the trailer I was informed that the trailer we reserved had been stolen the night before. After trying to figure out another trailer the girl working there suggested we just not buy the car and not make the trip which was laughable at best seeing as how the car had been purchased and we had already arrived in Bakersfield to pick it up. The only option offered was to drive 2 hours out of my way ( 1 hour out, 1 hour back) to pick up a trailer, other than that we were pretty much told we were on our own and there’s nothing they could do for us. We then went to the Union Ave location because we happened to be a couple blocks away at the time. They offered me a tow dolly but the car I was towing has racing slicks on the rear and aren’t meant to be on the street much less towed over 200 miles which is why we reserved the car hauler. Reluctantly I agreed to the tow dolly since I was stuck 4 hours from home with no trailer, knowing I’d have to stop at the closest junkyard to buy two wheels and tires that were roadworthy so I could make it home. I then asked if there was any way I could receive a discounted price on the trailer rental since it was not the trailer I had reserved nor was it the correct trailer to be towing my car with. I was basically told they wouldn’t do anything as far as a discount and that if I wanted I could cancel my rental and go back to the White Ln location and “talk to them about it”. At that point I had already been at the store for almost an hour so I told them just give me the trailer because I had absolutely no other choice. As we were going through the checkout/contract process, by sheer dumb luck, another customer pulled in to drop off a car hauler trailer which I was then able to rent and finally get on the road after restarting the whole contract process over from the start. Needless to say, I will exhaust every other avenue before resorting to renting from Uhaul again and advise the same to anyone else looking for a recommendation on truck/trailer rentals.

This is the second trailer I've rented in a week. Your system seems slow and cumbersome when I show up to complete the paperwork. (All agents were friendly) Why not look at the rental car companies. They've all made it much quicker and easier to grab a car at the airport. It seems like a great place to improve the initial experience.

I rented your truck that had 440 miles when I Returned it. Your associate noticed a scratch on the tailgate when you look at the image it's not clear at all. my point I'm making is the person taking the image should at least try to get a better picture so it saves a lot of time for you and the Costomer Because I had a lot of frustration and Aggravation. I'm up set that I'm being charged $240.29 to fix the tailgate that I'm ""100 PERCENT POSITIVE I DID NOT DO THE DAMAGE"" I would not recommend this store only because of the way Your Associates tried to resolve this Situation It was done in a unprofessional manner. No matter what the picture looked like it was my fault. But when looking from my side the img IT WAS REALLY BLURRY AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL ANYTHING. The truth is if I was not in such of a rush I would have spent more time looking at the truck i would have seen the damage. Get better Equipment for your Associates so they can do a professional job and get us in and out in a professional Mount of time thank you. Me Mattern

The newer box can trailers are awesome, save so much on gas with the lighter aluminum trailers. I use U-haul trailers for my bands equipment, traveling from studio to venue. The customer friendly pricing and quality of the rental units make for a positive experience.

When I returned the truck to the lot there were no one to check the truck in. I had to wait approx. 30 min out in the cold till I went back inside the office and the cashier had to call for someone for me to check the truck in. The truck had something wrong with the transmission it kept shifting while I drove it down the street.

I rent trailers frequently from this location, because they have a large inventory of equipment. However, the waiting time (even with pre-check out) is unacceptable. There are never more than 2 employees at the counter, generally only 1. Most of the times that I've rented the waiting process is 30-40 minutes just to get to the counter.

In Bakersfield - The staff was confident and well mannered. I appreciate that in a business. I had some debit/card issues and they kept thinking of solutions to get the processes done in a timely manner. Well organized. The truck was perfect and no issues traveling from county to county.
