The person on duty and I were the only person in the store when I walked in at 11:03am for an 11am pickup The person (unnamed), said that he cancels registrations not picked up 15 to 20 min. after said pick up time. I asked if he canceled my registration and he said he did. I asked why and that was ridiculous. He said "if I was going to be late, I should have called". I said why should I call when I am not that late (5 min) and this is ridiculous. I then proceeded to ask if he rented to trailer to someone else. He said "no". I said "if you did not rent it to someone else, why would you even mention canceling my trailer". This honked him off and said he did not need to listen to my complaint and he could find a trailer elsewhere for me to rent. I shut up immediately as his customer service was horrible. Who cancels a rental right at rental time? My final print out of the transaction was at 11:11am. Hardly 15-30 min late. I told him that the trailer would be back early. I dropped it off at 9:30 and left (per his direction). At 10:57pm I recieved a text from Uhaul stating that I needed to do a picture of the drop off location to not receive an after hours charge. Well, I was not at Uhaul at that time and was charged a huge after hours charge which is a total joke. The trailer was given to me like it had just been in a mud fight and the inside was just as bad. I have rented many (in excess of 5 in last year for the average consumer). This was terrible on all fronts. I will be looking elsewhere. They act like they are doing doing you a favor and as if they have better things to do. Here comes social media if I do not get the after hours charge reversed. Oh, I also cleaned out the nasty inside of the trailer that was full of dirt, leaves and broked glass.

The truck was clean, but the alignment was way off. Driving was a constant battle keeping it from pulling right. Engine sounded horrible in first and second gear. Seems like mechanical maintenance was not a priority on the truck I had. The physical location of the building/lot is the primary reason I wouldn’t suggest this location to friends. Cramped lot, entrance only from west bound traffic makes it more difficult than it should be to get in and out. I do want to note that the staff when checking in and out were very helpful and friendly.

Good- equipment well specified for rental duty. Facility looks good, well kept up for age. Pricing seemed fair. Didn’t need boxes, but was impressed with pricing and assortment available. Bad- small lot that’s difficult to get around when busy. This was my second visit in last couple years, and second time staff said they were having “system” problems. Express online check-in didn’t seem to save any time as we had to do it again in the store.

I will not be using U-Haul to move ever again. The receipt for the use of the truck ended up being twice the amount of what was quoted. Plus I was charged for gas even though I returned the truck with more gas than I used... I am very disappointed with this experience and will not be returning or recommending this service to my colleagues, family, or friends.

Slow. Took an hour to check me in. For a 5x8 trailer. Then it had bad twilight and took another 30 to get a functioning trailer. U-Haul is garbage every time I have the misfortune of having to use them. In any location.

The guy who helped me at the counter was friendly and professional. The truck was ready for me at the time of my appointment. I like that there was an assigned drop off point. The last time I rented a Uhaul, it was difficult to figure out where to park when returning the truck. And since it larger than you are used to driving, that was stressful.

Long wait times/Only 1 worker to assist anyone, 4 people waiting in line before he even came in to help anyone and when he did, he seemed under a lot of stress and frustrated.

I loved everything but I would recommend that you get more space for parking. I see that the property adjacent to you is undeveloped. Perhaps you could turn that into a parking lot or something.

The wipers need replaced. The drivers seat felt to be messed up on the left side as you were sitting in it. Windshield had a haze on it. When tow/haul was off it would shift hard. And the truck needed some maintenance stuff done to it.

Took 40 minutes to pick up a reserved truck. First there was only one employee and about 4-5 people in line. The computer system moves very slow. The employees were very nice. I was supposed to have a dolly in my truck and got all the way to my destination and there wasn’t one! Called the location and somehow was transferred to a different one who couldn’t help me. Luckily the storage center was nice enough to let me use theirs. When I brought the truck back there was no apologies but said I wouldn’t be charged for it.... not sure I will ever come back

I was charged 3 separate times all for the wrong amount. When I went there to pick up the vehicle they tried to talk me out of The extra insurance. I had to tell them than I wanted it twice. Then they tried to talk me into a lower cost insurance. When I Returned the vehicle no one gave me instructions on the next steps. When I called after seeing 3 charges on my card we spoke to someone who is named Mike. He advised that it would fall off the next business day. He also told us there were 2 new guys working and that's why nothing went smoothly. When the 2 charges did not drop off I called back and was Told by the general manager he didn't see the extra charges and that I needed to call corporate. I call them and was told someone else's rental had been charged to my card. This has been such a hassle. I don't think I will ever use this location again. Moving was such an expense and then to have all these extra charges unnecessarily has just been awful.

My reservation was at 63rd street in West Des Moines for Saturday August 31. Only they did not have the trailer I reserved. I was told the store closed in 3 mins and there was nothing they could do. I insisted I had a reservation and I needed that trailer. They then found one at the Urbandale location. That store manager waited for me to get there, as they too closed at 7. I was at the other place at 6:30 but waited in line for 15 mins to fine out they didn’t have the trailer I reserved. Very frustrating but in the end the other location was very helpful.

I was charged THREE times for me to use one truck for 5 hours, a total of 13 miles. When I called about this I was told I was not charged more than once, then transferred to THREE different people to resolve this for the last person to hang up on me. At this time, U Haul is holding $110 more then what it should, and denying what has clearly hit my bank and refusing any resolution. I would NEVER refer or use U Haul again. You have overcharged me and your customer service is the worst of any company I have ever worked with.

I reserved a 17' truck but received a 14' one. I drove a total of under 20 miles and was charged for 3 gallons of gas, which means the truck was not actually filled up before I received it.

Customers need to be more informed of the online check in process after hours , that photos are required to complete it. The online reservation process is unreliable as I reserved online as available and received a phone call two days before that the rental vehicle was not available.

The customer service person checking people in was rude and unprofessional. the person in front of us order online and even though his order said his pickup was at the Douglas location the trailer was not available. We were next and mentioned that we also ordered online and the lazy rolled her eyes and said some unprofessional words. The customer service representative was concerned that the online service did not actually match with what the available trucks were.I feel lucky we arrived before the other people that reserved the same truck or else it really would have ruined our plans.
