Our check-in process was being set up when the employee helping us was interrupted by an (apparently) higher priority issue. Our process was then handed off to an employee who was passing by and while they were getting current with where we were in the process, they were interrupted several times by other (higher level?) employees and at one point was asked to log out of the terminal with our contract information so that some other process could be handled. Fortunately our process was close enough to completion that it was not necessary to do that. Additionally, our vehicle DC2389M; while very clean, ran extremely well and I appreciated the clarity of the advisory stickers placed in most helpful locations.. had a loading gate whose balance spring had been so over-tightened that the first time I tried to raise the gate, it was snatched out of my grip and the latching mechanism which had not yet been secured, jammed itself between the door and the upper edge of the opening so that it could not easily be released. Happily I was able to disengage it and was extra careful the remainder of the period to restrain that tendency.Terrence M.

I rented the 15' truck and only moved maybe a 1000 lbs of miscellaneous items. I understand gas prices are high. But I should get more than 5 miles to the gallon. Had to stop and fill up every 200 miles. Spent over 600 $to travel 1085 miles.WILLIAM W.

The vehicle smelled of cigarettes I could not see thru the windshield there was so much gunk and grime on the windshield (on the inside of the glass) overall the experience was not that great at all and I don't think I'll be using uhaul for a long time...JESSE G.

The interior of the vehicle was extremely dirty. The dashboard had dirty footprints all over it and the seats were full of dirt and debris. There was even visible residue on the inside of the windshield of a sneeze, the outside of the windshield was very dirty and had lots of bug residue making it extremely hard to see out the window, creating a safety hazard. It was obvious this vehicle had not been cleaned between uses. In this time of Covid it is very unsettling that even basic sanitation had not been completed. I had the same experience with this dealer last time I rented from them. In the future I will try another dealer, if I choose Uhaul again.ERIC RAY B.
The truck was not clean at all. The guy in the pony tail put effort into cleaning it. But Michael did not. Said it would be fine with me driving it, and that he had spent 45 mins cleaning it out. He did not. There was garbage under the seat. There was water bottles in the bed of the truck. Bark dust in the back of the truck. And to top it off it spelt like an ash tray. I turned the ac on and a bunch of cigarette ash came out and I had to tell my daughter who has chronic asthma to get out. Definitely not happy with the experience. This location completely lacked moving blankets, moving wrap. Basically everything they need to sell to customers. What kind of business is this? Get moving supply inventory asap, Make some money. Become successful.RANDAL V.
Check in process was unorganized/not as professional as expected. I made an appointment showed up early and was told my appointment had been changed.from 8/31 to 9/4. I never received a phone call or email or any notice and was made to feel it was my fault. Then I was charged for a receiver the part that goes in the hitch when I asked about I was told they were out and they didn't charge me as I am looking at it on the receipt. The manager was great, the staff was great other than the lot guy who couldn't keep up with returns. I pulled in and two cars were trying to back into where I was supposed to stage so they could leave. I pulled to the left outside of where the line was only to be yelled at to get in the back of the line. I didn't give a rip if I was processed after them. Asked if 10 foot could haul a trailer, they said yes, they did not specify that it had it's ball hitch welded on so I could not change the size, drove 2 hours to pick something up to find it didn't work. 130 $wastedMARRISSA Y.

I tried to use mobile pick up which was very confusing and frustrating. Ended up having to go inside and speak with a representative. He was awesome and helped me. When I dropped the vehicle off I went inside and a girl was sitting at the desk no customers anywhere. I told her I was dropping off the vehicle. She said ok go stand by the vehicle and someone will come help you. I stood outside for over 10 minutes and nothing! Pulled out my phone and did the mobile app. Put the keys in drip box and no one ever came out to help me.Rachel C.

It was fine, not great, but fine - the only problem that made it not great is that there was a BUNCH of motor oil in the bed of the van... When I first looked in the back during the check out process, I thought it was just left over water from being cleaned, so I didn't note it on the check out sheet, but when I got the van home and stepped into the back I realized it was a bunch of oil which coated the bottom of my shoes and was dirty, hard to clean and gross.. It's hard to judge volume when it's spread out, but I'd say there was AT LEAST a cup (8 ounces by volume) of oil spread around the center of the van bed.Vincent M.

The worst customer service I have ever had . My son tried to return it the the location they said to on 72nd . They told him they couldn't take it sent him to the one on 4th plain they said they were going to charge us for miles when we were given 228 miles they then sent him to the store on Andresen whe e wa finally abl to return it . Very, very long lines both when I picked up and dropped off. Zero AC in the showroom. Blazing hot at 9:15 AM. Very glad that I bypass the mess by taking care of everything online! Would have lost hours waiting in those lines. Hire enough people or streamline the rental process! 20+ minute wait times on the phones too. Ridiculous!! The location and staff are great. U Haul policy of bait and switch is horrendous. This is the 2nd time I reserved one thing and was given something different when I arrived. Honesty is the best policy. Last time it cost me 200 dollars in tire replacement. This time I did not rent the large trailer that would reduce gas mileage and add strain to my engine and transmission just because corporate sells this shell game as a benefit to the customer in the form of an upgrade. If you don't have the equipment...dont accept the reservation. It's that simple.HENRY S.

UHaul was excellent to work with. No trucks were available when I went to rent one out but I was added to a call list to be called if a truck became available in the local area. I received a call within an hour and was able to rent a truck immediately. I only learned about the storage option at that time and that was such a convenience because we needed storage for the itmes that I was renting the truck to pick up. U-Haul is a broken system and takes advantage of customers by not fixing a broken computer system that is down as much as it is up. They charge fees because their computers systems fail thus they feel they are entitled to keep them. So far I have not been very impressed by this company. I made a reservation for a storage unit almost a month in advance. On moving day when I went in to get my unit number they had no reservation on file and then told me that they were fully booked. After some searching they ended up finding me a unit but it was very stressful having a 20ft Uhaul in the parking lot and wondering if I have a unit to store my belongings in. Then a few days after I moved everything in they called because apparently there is a bolt missing from the lock mechanism of my unit so now I have to make time to go back down there so they can repair that. I made an appointment but then received a call to see if it can be done sooner but any time I call the facility I am on hold for a long period of time. My suggestion is once a unit is empty make sure nothing needs to be repaired before moving another tenant in there as to not inconvenience them!!BRITTANY MICHELL P. | Premières impressions

Hugh was very patient and professional. I definitely appreciate his demeanor considering my stressed out and completely exhausted mental state. Moving from state to state is hard work. I was short on sleep and short on patience which isn't normal for me so my capacity to think clearly wasn't real great. Fortunately Hugh was in charge so things went as smoothly as they could have. The only thing worse than having to conduct business in my current condition was hearing that when I walked out of the U-Haul facility to get fresh air, my step son said Missy said, I was a sore thumb. My frustrations were valid and although I expressed them, I don't believe I was abusive or blaming to anyone in the process. Missy would do well learning to keep her personal opinion to herself and focus on customer satisfaction. I've always used U-Haul for moving and have never had a horrible experience; and, even though the truck got a flat tire and my storage wasn't secured online like I had thought, the worst part was hearing I was insulted behind my back but in front of one of my children. With that being mentioned I just want to note, "Thank you for your tolerance Hugh! I can totally see why they leave you in charge" and "F#€k off Missy! After renting storage facility for over 10 years. I was sadden to see that when I went to empty my storage room, my key no longer opened my lock. when i had the locked drilled, which I paid 50 $to have done, when I opened the storage door my space had been ransacked, my Texaco collectibles where stolen, my grandsons electric train set had been stolen. This was heartbroken, that I had paid every month for my items to securely stored. They have cameras all over the facility which leads me to believe that this was your personnel that broke into my storage unit and stole my items, and replaced the lock, hoping that no one would find out.
