BRIAN B | Expérience généraleThe facility itself was OK. The issue came when I moved out. I emptied and cleaned out my unit, and per U-Haul protocol, submitted the documentation along with photos of the clean, empty unit. This was completed two days before my rent for the following month would have been due. I continued to receive messages from the site manager, Tyler Lariviere, telling me my rent was past due. Then he added a late charge, and then he sent yet another informing me: "We hereby make immediate demand for full payment in the amount of $88.85. If full payment is not received within 14 days, your right to use storage room 2088 shall be terminated, a $50 lien processing fee will be assessed, and a contractual landlord`s lien and any applicable statutory liens will be imposed on the personal property contained within the room." This was more than TWO WEEKS after I had moved out. During this time, my account displayed a message that it was waiting for site manager confirmation on the move-out process. I had emailed Mr. Lariviere several times during this period and received no response to my messages, although he continued to email me about my "overdue rent." I also twice reached out via the online chat on U-Haul's website. The first person I talked to, on June 6, said that she would message Mr. Lariviere and "put a note on the account." I received Mr. Lariviere's email about putting a contractual landlord's lien, etc., on June 12, and replied to it on that same day. Also that day, I contacted U-Haul online chat again and was again told by the person I talked to that she would message Mr. Lariviere. The next day, June 13 - 17 days after completing the move-out process - I finally received an invoice showing 0 balance. I understand that Mr. Lariviere might have been busy and not had the opportunity to verify that the unit had been cleaned out, and this might have been acceptable had he NOT found the time to continually message me about my "past due" rent and add additional charges. I cannot imagine it would have taken more than maybe two or three minutes to walk over to the building, see that the lock had been removed from my unit, and check that the unit was emptied and had been swept out. I strongly suspect this is an attempt by Mr. Lariviere and/or U-Haul to gouge customers for extra rent by making it so inconvenient for them to keep trying to get a response that they just pay because it's less aggravation.

I could not get in so I followed somebody else and then could not get out. My son and I sat there for 1 1/2 hrs before anybody came. We called the phone number on the gate several times and nobody answered.

But then Matt Rodgers called me on the phone to let me know the staff messed up my storage room and I moved in the wrong unit. He was very nasty on the phone wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor told me he was the boss of the region and over charged me as well. I've been waiting on corporate to return my call but no such luck.

Had to wait over 2 hrs for them to take locks off my unit after they changed the original locks it came with and after bringing my things home I'm missing quite a few items that can't be replaced. I'm extremely upset about this and will never again use this unit for anything

When I called that number, I got the corporate office in AZ. The woman there was a hit confused but was very friendly and was able to take care of me.

Phyllis H | Déménagement en ligneWe have a payee program, and the staff wouldn't let us mail checks monthly as we have to drive to deliver the checks for our clients. We don't have access online for our clients so we do checks to pay U-Haul but U-Haul won't take the check if we mail them.
