Vinneator W | Premières impressionsI just noticed that there is a different colored panel on the back wall of my storage unit that appears to be bolted in on one side and the other is missing all the bolts leading me to believe someone can access my unit from the inside/other unit? Complete lack of secure feeling at this point and I would like to request a new unit immediately.

When we cleaned out the unit after 20 years, things inside were in good condition,…..no water damage or evidence of mice, that sometimes happens when storing items over long term. On the day I closed out the unit, Brandon was especially helpful to me. Since I live out of town it was very difficult for me to arrange removal of pallets that were on the floor of the unit to raise items off of the concrete. Brandon said that he would take care of that and didn't charge me extra. That was very kind of him and I very much appreciate his kind offer when he noticed that I was in a pickle…..ha! Thanks Brandon!

When I went to cancel my contract, I was treated with respect but expected a refund in any amount to make up for the bad experience since I'd been there only twice, and 10 days or so in total.

Brian D | Expérience généraleIs it customary to need two contacts with their home addresses for storage. And is it policy to call, on the spot, the contact I gave for the Uhaul cargo van? I rented a Uhaul in May of this year and I don't believe I needed to give a contact at all and if I did I know that there was no call to the contact that moment or any moment since them. I was disturbed by the behavior, thought it invasive and unnecessary. If this isn't standard I want to know because I'm very concerned about what might be done with thar information, addresses and phone numbers of a friend and a family member. But it was the phone call that truly disturbed me. The other employee who checked in my van was extremely nice and helpful, made me feel respected and at ease. The person who checked me in was nice enough but aggressive with his questions for sensitive information and, like I said, the phone call to my brother (very early in the morning for him because he lives in an EST time zone). I gave high ratings above out of respect for the worker who checked in the van and also helped with a snag I had related to getting into storage. I hope this helps you understand my experience.
Michael G | Premières impressionsThere's a 40$ fee if you din't turn in your key card according to ending service through the website. You are required to leave the card in the storage unit. But, you can't get out of the storage property without using your keycard to get out. Had to make a separate trip from 2 hours away because of this

Everything I tried to get I to my storage unit I was iced out of the building. When I tried to talk to the staff about it I was hung up on. Spoken to very rudely. Cused at and just plain disrespected. I will never use this company again and never recommend it to anyone. I'm even trying to get my friends to move out .never have I ever been treated with such disrespect and I wish I ever came to your company. I spent so much money there only to be treated with the most disrespect possible. I'm seriously thinking about taking my compliant to the BBB. YOU SAY CONTACT UHAUL TO RESOLVE DISPUTES U TRYED AND GOT HUNG UP ON . DARE YOU TO PUBLISH THIS ONE
Toni L | Expérience généraleLove the security of the University Ave units. The store hours are great are very accessible, and the employees have always been very kind. Suggestion: provide a lock-cutting or lock-smithing service. I think using the customer's ID to prove that they in fact are the renter is a viable option in order to still be secure, but provide a convenient and necessary service. Being a renter here, I learned that the locks literally freeze, and because of this, renters may not be able to access their unit. Also, the keys provided with the locks sold are quite weak, and are prone to snapping in the lock, especially if the lock is frozen.

Called U-Haul and was told they double rented it and there was nothing but a 5x10 left. Would not work for me so I had to cancel the order. Wasted a long time on this...the young man who helped me was nice and they tried but I literally have the worst luck trying to make U-Haul work for me

When I went to check out of my unit I found he had made his own rules for check out that are not listed online or printed anywhere but required by him before they will cancel your unit.

Have office hours at the facility itself 2. Inform customers before first visit to the unit that there is a temporary lock ( I needed scissors to cut it, and did not have it with me) 3. List a helpful phone number at the facility (gate, maybe)
SIMONA B | Premières impressionsOverall a good experience except the lock bar was improperly installed so door did not totally close shut down to ground ..i had called at least 2 times to have it fixed when we first rented it and also contacted u haul by email about the problem and it was never fixed the whole time I rented it. Should have received some sort of refund as I moved out over a half month before rent was due again

Mike O | Expérience généraleThe UHaul Storage on University in Cedar Falls is convenient to the UNI campus. It is well maintained; our unit was very clean. The facility is secure with access needing a key card. My only suggestion is that signage on University makes it harder to find the entrance.
