At first they said I had to return the truck back to Hattiesburg but my reservation specified returning the truck in my new city (Asheville, NC). We had to cancel the reservation and create a new one. It was timely and inconvenient but the site manager was kind and helpful.Penny W.

I was told that the facility was climate control which is what I wanted but it was not. The main door was left open all day for heat and humidity to come and go. The doors to some of the units were rotting. There was no inside lighting. There was standing water outside the door of my unit. There was also no AC unit to provide climate control environment, yet I was charged for a climate control unit. I will never do business with U-Haul again. This facility was a disgrace and very poorly maintained. I removed my belongings before a month was up because of the poor state of this facility.JERRY R. | Expérience générale
This is a review of U-Haul, the company, not the local store front in either Hattiesburg or Petal, Mississippi. I attempted to rent my truck using the app. I got confirmation on the app and the â€œguaranteeâ€ that my equipment would be available. I checked with the location Friday before the Saturday I was supposed to pick up, they said they would not have a truck in time Friday afternoon for me to pick up with the app Saturday morning. I was also guaranteed that I would have a utility dolly and an appliance dolly. I had the utility dolly but not the appliance dolly. I rented that from the Petal, Mississippi location, Storage Choice. Doug Smalley went above and beyond to help And I accidentally left a negative review on his site. Storage choice in Petal, MS is where you want to do business. I don't know that I have any problems with U-Haul rental and storage on W. 7th St. in Hattiesburg, I do have a problem with U-Haul. When I returned Saturday night and attempted to return the equipment on the app, the app was going to charge me full price again. I had paid it that morning. When I called U-Haul Sunday morning, the lady assured me I would be charged the 20 $fee, said it was in my contract! It was also in my contract that I was guaranteed to pick up at 6:00 AM Saturday morning. That did not happen. UHaul hung their local store out to dry on this one. When I got there Saturday morning, best case was that I would leave 90 minutes after my original time. The equipment was broken down. The lady there at the W. 7th St. location in Hattiesburg, got me another truck, and I left a little over two hours after my original time. My problem is with U-Haul's attempting to charge me a 20 $â€œconvenience feeâ€œ because I did not check in on the app and allow them to charge me twice on that equipment. I have said I would never do business with U-Haul again, I will absolutely do business with Doug Smalley in Petal, Mississippi at Storage Choice. I accidentally left the negative review with Storage Choice and Petal, completely accidental and I apologize to Doug.Frank L.

I originally made my reservation for Meridian- was told the night before my move that there wasn't a van for me and I would have to drive to Hattiesburg to get one. The person that I spoke to on the phone at the regional dispatch was very insensitive and rude. I will not be using UHaul again.Richard N.

Well found out the Tow Folly damaged my car, Associate told me the straps were put on wrong. So ill be contacting Uhaul to discuss getting my vehicle fixed. It sounds terrible both front tires. The facility was in poor repair and look like it had flooded many times before. There were also no lights inside the storage unit itself. It was dark in there and I had to use a flashlight to load my belongings inside. The wall upper walls were covered in rotted paneling wood and the door to the unit was lopsided and hard to open and close. Out of all the units I've used over the years this was the all-time worst. It was also raining when I unloaded my belongings and it looked as if the rain water was going to enter the bottom of the building as it kept rising. Definitely a flood hazard due to poor drainage. I would have continued to shop around but was in a crunch to find a last minute place for my belongings. This is an issue that needs to be resolved by the U-Haul company itself not the employees.JERRY R. | Premières impressions

I road around 20 min then called the unit and asked the lady to give me directions and she only told me she was close by the AT&T store. This was the worst possible experience imaginable. My 7am reservation for a 15' truck was far from being honored. I wasn't offered any solution other than to come back at 10am. Meanwhile I received a call telling me that a 15' truck was available, that I had to be the one to pick it up from its holding location over an hour away. Once I came back at 10, the employee offered me either a 15' truck or a cargo van, both of which needed to be returned in less than 24 hours. Mind you, I was moving to another state so this was obviously a horrible solution. Next, I was finally offered a 26' truck for the cost of the 15'. I mean, I suppose this was fine but 26' is quite the overkill for a one bedroom apartment. I was finally able to get on the road around 4pm. I pulled into Birmingham well after my storage unit facility closed, forcing me to upgrade to 24 hour access which wasn't an available option until the following day. I had to drive my 26' honker of a truck 20 minutes out of the way to stay with someone in town, having to figure out how to park basically a big rig on a residential street. Needless to say, the next morning was just a bad. It had heavily rained the day before causing this monster of a Uhaul vehicle to now be stuck in the mud. Uhaul dispatched a tow truck after being on hold for well over an hour. I had to wait another almost 2 hours for them to get here to help me get unstuck. Then, what do you know? The Uhaul insurance that I so dutifully paid for didn't even cover roadside assistance. What was supposed to be an early, day trip of a move turned into the most nightmarish, expensive 48 hours full of inconvenience, all of which could have been avoided if my 15' truck at 7am was available from the beginning. Also, please tell Belinda Bull in Hattiesburg to have a better attitude, or better yet, any sort of attitude.Whitson R.

I reserved a truck in Meridian, MS - the morning before, I was called by U Haul Jackson, MS office to tell me I would have to drive 90 miles to pick up the truck in Hattiesburg. Even though I had a paid reservation from 2 weeks earlier. Not good business!Nancy T.

They need to get their reservations under control. We reserved in laurel and then was referred to Taylorsville and then to Hattiesburg. I estimated 120 miles for the laurel reservation and us moving our stuff. So the fact that I had to go to Hattiesburg added 60 extra miles to my bill. Plus it is so stupid that you can't drop the uhaul off at an alternate location that may be closer to you. I had a terrible experience with the actual â€œuhaulâ€ policies. Not the actual location. Plus I was charged 39,95 to keep it an additional day on Sunday. But Sunday when I called to see if I could keep it til Monday I was told it would be an extra 142!!!!!??? Why is this? Why did I have to pay 100 dollars over what I was told originally. Also we paid for the extra insurance which was suppose to be 18 dollars and was charge 84 dollars for 3 days for that extra insurance. Needless to say, we will not be renting another uhaul unless it can be picked up and dropped off at different locations or pick up/drop off is miles away from the moving location.Ryan L.

The dropoff location was blocked by road construction and I had to drive around to find out how to get to the location. Once I found a way to the location it was easy to drop off and the location was well lit!KELVIN H.

this location drop off is a joke . the two trucks i reted was parked side by side, the truck i dropped off to this person says the truck was 5 miles over the allowed milage for my move. first let me say, i was suppose to get a 26 ft truck, which a 26 ft truck was there but for some reason i couldnt get the truck even so i had reserved a26 ft truck 2 or 3 days a head of time, so i got a 20 ft., finally. we were running about 3 to 4 hours behon because of u haul.. ok thats the 1st truck, now the 2nd truck also a twenty ft truck.when i set my appointments, i was with the understanding both trucks would be returned to the same retun station, oh no, the one at station 1 told me if i brought the other truck to him i would be hit with some high charges. not very nice..so all of the trouble u haul caused me, was not taken under considerration, but i wont forget it. The manager was friendly. Overall uhaul customer service is garbage. There was no option for me to extend rental online and no one answers the phone. No one answered my attempt to chat either. The unit I rented didn't have a light and had a hole in the wall before I rented it we discuss my bill being due on the first of the month not the 28th due to me being in the military and how our pay falls.
