From the moment I walked in, the staff always greets me with a smile and made me feel welcome. They are knowledgeable and helpful, answering all my questions and making sure I always get the right equipment for my needs. The equipment is always clean and well-maintained, and it always ready for me when I arrive. The staff even go above and beyond by providing me with helpful moving tips and offering me a hot drink on a cold day. Overall, I had a great experience with U-Haul and I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of moving equipment. The exceptional service I received made my move so much easier and less stressful. Thank you to the staff at U-Haul Hillsboro by the airport location for a job well done!
Irma L.Carefully inspect your receipt immediately. I didn't check at the time but a few extra charges showed up on the receipt that should have never been there. They charged me for afterhours return that I returned in person at the location when the office was open, 6 hours before my scheduled end time for reservation. Also, charged full price for a combo offer that offered a discount.
Sumeet M.The overall experience was not great. Started off negative with the online check-in system not functioning so when we arrived at 7am to pick up using the self check-in, we couldn't! We had to wait until 9am when the store opens. Movers had to be delayed and ended up with an additional two hour cost and delay. The local store offered $20 off via free furniture pad usage (woo wee!) $20 is not much! Called U-HAUL customer service and they offered $50 credit. That was more acceptable but still kind of lack luster! But what can be expected, I mean we didn't think you guys would make it right by offering an actual discount. Also the truck smelt of cigarette smoke. Gross!

John A.Truck had an exhaust leak, trailer had a light hanging on by a rivet. Employees hooked up the truck and trailer but one of the trailer brake lights didn't work. There weren't any more trailers on site so they said it should be fine for a 1700 mile trip.
Quentin S.We opted to pick up the truck via mobile pick up. When we arrived there, the truck assigned to us had the door already unlocked, the window rolled down, rain pouring into the front seat, and a crack pipe on the drivers seat. Security was rolling around, but never stopped, even though we were struggling to even get in the truck because rain was pouring so hard it was messing with the phone to get into the vehicle. We also had trouble reserving the truck online. supposed to be a destination drop off. But it was reserved as an in town reservation . So when I went to correct this, knowing that we'd have to drive all the way back to the starting location, it would add a lot of miles and make the price go up. We were told there was nothing that could be done unless we want to leave the truck at another location to be charged up to $300 more or drive it back with all the miles . I was very disappointed and dissatisfied especially since we have been customers with Uhaul over 20 times the last 18 years. This is the first time we used this location but we will never do mobile pick up again and we won't use this location again. We called the location the very next day after pick up because it was too late to speak with anyone that evening at the location. We were told that these types of break-ins happen “ all the time.“ we were met without any accommodations for what we had been through the night before… even having to get the police involved because there were drugs in the vehicle.

We returned it with more gas than when we started. Email I received showed a reading of less than 1/2. I called the next day. They went and check the truck. Apologized and said it would be taken care of. Was still charged for extra gas fee. No refund given

Tamara C.I rented an 12' x 6' closed trailer. Everything went smoothly getting on the road. No rain when we loaded but the mattress was quite wet when we unloaded. Evidence inside the trailer of prior caulking repair near where the wetness was. I thought the service and price were fair but the outcome was disappointing.

NOEY G G.I had a very poor move out experience at this facility. First, I was notified 30 minutes prior to renting a truck at this facility that it would not be available. I had to drive 7 miles in the opposite direction to pick up the truck and then return to this facility to clean out my storage unit. This costed me time and money because of the extra mileage. Second, when I arrived at the facility, there were to trailers blocking access to my unit. When I asked an employee if he could help me move them, he refused at first. I explained that my truck would be blocking the alley and it would be very difficult to move large items out of the unit with those trailers in front. He then asked ME if I would be comfortable lifting and moving them. I told him I could attempt that if he was okay with the liability of me getting injured in the process. He finally agreed to walk out with a tool to move one trailer out of my way. Finally, and most importantly, we discovered our unit had been infested by rats. Some items shredded to pieces and feces and urine everywhere. We will have to have some pieces of furniture cleaned professionally due to health and safety concerns. We are planning a move to Colorado this summer and have decided that Uhaul is no longer a company we want to do business with due to repeating issues. I am hoping that you will take this review seriously and address the staff and cleanliness issues. Please know that your unit has costed us hundreds of dollars in damages.

We did get $50 off. And was told I would get some money back when we moved out, then was told no Uhaul don't give money back, I would have waited for the end of the month, I feel I have been on time with auto pay, and now Uhaul gets money for me moving out... I don't think that is right

This was the third issue I had with U-Haul while moving this weekend. Eventually the staff ended up giving two months free instead of the 1 month free I received with my truck to help make up the difference. However, we waited over an hour while they were trying to figure out what was available. I ended up in a 10x10x6, which was more expensive and smaller than the 10x8x9 I had reserved. I wouldn't recommend U-Haul in the future.

Nobody answers the phones and the poor staff are always trying to run around to try to keep up with whatever is happening. Consider better pay / incentives to hopefully have better staff morale and better work ethic. I loathe anytime I have to use uhaul because the staff are never on the same page between days or locations. I don't understand why I couldn't finish my rental online or over the phone even though my unit was empty and I had taken the lock.

Then when I went back to the office to ask about it, she didn't seem to have any concern that one went off, which seems like the whole reason for the alarms. I also was not told during my reservation that I had an odd shaped unit, I did not find out until I arrived and was handed a map.

There should be a number to call or a sign or something to contact whoever is working. I waited over 10 minutes, 4 other customers showed up behind me, one of them left. It took less than a minute for my checkout. If you created an easy checkout online or something that would be good.
