Sat in truck at dropoff for 20 minutes before I was acknowledged. Just following the sign that said stay in truck to wait for service. Overcharged for fuel. I took a pre photo that showed gas level lower than on receipt and filled with fuel to that point (1,5 gallons). . Then I was charged for another 1,5 gallons.

Tank empty. Smelled like cheap cologne. A/C barely kept cabin cool. Seat belt light and alarm would not turn off … until I figured it was connected to wrong seat… not supposed to be able to do that.

I pointed out that the fuel level on the contract the was higher than actual when I left the departing location. The attendant acknowledged this but didn't have time to close out the rental, he said he would email later. When I received the email a while later, I noticed I had been charged for two gallons of fuel extra.

Was quoted one price online, when I got to location the price was $200 more. I was forced to take the equipment because I was on a deadline. First trailer had broken/non functional light, was told they don't have any other one way trailers. Was then given another "in town only" trailer begrudgingly.

This is one of the main U-Haul locations and you can tell they are used to deal with equipment renters. They are helpful for returning the trucks , trailers, and any unused moving supplies. Check-out is quick.

The 10" truck that I got was on empty when I picked it up and they told me I had to fill it with gas. When I took it to the gas station, it leaked gas from beneath so I had to take it immediately back to get another truck. There was a reason that the truck was on empty (because it leaked gas) so they never should have gave it to me before it was repaired.

Thoroughly inspect the vehicle before giving it to a customer. And if you do happen to rent a faulty equipment, admit your fault and reimburse the customer for the time, money and emotional distress your mistake causes them. Instead of making them more miserable

Front counter seemed undermanned and overwhelmed for a busy weekend required me to make several trips back to the counter to correct issues with my dispatched van. Assigned a different van given keys to another van, policy of rented equipment needs to be redone. When someone rents vacuum packed blankets and clearly doesn't use them at all. They should be able to get refunded. Employee said "if you rent a dolly then claim you didn't use it for a refund we lose money I don't make the rules" . I can see that though I never rented a dolly I had blankets that were vacuum packed. Clearly never used, but being told rented equipment is non refundable is a dumb policy at this location. I've had other U haul centers refund non used blankets in my past moves. I'll go there for better service and customer satisfaction in my future moves. Only good things : Staff - We're professional in dealing with my issues. Policies locked their hands on making changes to billing. Van- clean and in good shape.

Very professional young man disconnected my rental trailer today. Watched him help someone ahead of me and he took the time to make sure their rental went off to their satisfaction.. Managerial material that one is.

The 15' truck I rented was too old and got terrible gas mileage. It had 133K miles on it and I think for a rental that is well past time to retire it. Moreover, the vehicle should be full of gas. I could not get the gas level where it was when I picked it up and was charged for an additional 3 gallons of gas. I went 25,5 miles in the truck and was told I used 6 gallons of fuel. That means the truck only got 4,25 miles per gallon. FYI, I had a very light load so I think there's something off about that. There's no way the 15' truck I rented got such terrible gas mileage.

Not the location I asked for. My storage unit was in the location of my original ask and U-Haul made me travel rather than place the truck where I needed it.

The employees were rude and impatient, there was no Dolly in the back of the truck and the employees did not inform me there wasn't.I had to buy one near the location I was moving from. I was charged for a moving blanket and not informed one was missing so I could return it and not be charged for it. When they called me to check when I was going to return the truck. They were rude and basically threatened to charge my card and ( in his word's " an excessive amount of money". They marked the fuel return level higher than what it really was. Overall a rating of 2 out of 10.

First trailer we tried the left light was out so had to switch trailers. 2nd trailer had no tread tires and wiring was exposed but the lights did work and since it was just in town trailering took the trailer and it worked fine. Maybe some better trailer maintenance would be in order.

On the day I was there 'District' managers were on scene trying (unsuccessfully) to offer suggestions to the manager Dan at the time. While Dan was busy with me as a customer, trying to resolve a problem that I was having to no fault of U-haul. Management meetings would be better of being held during noncustomer hours before opening.

Both pick up and return experienced The Worst customer service ever. For example, upon checking in, the person behind the desk, on his phone the whole time, hands me a key. I asked "so is the truck to the right or the left or…?" He replied that it was either to the right or the left. So then sarcastically I say "should I just go try the key in every one of them until it fits?!". He replied "yeah". The return was just as bad with a female staff member.

The people were useless they wouldn't do anything to help with checkout or check. It was completely self service. All they would do is point to the QR poster and tell me to follow it. I have rented well over 100 vehicles and this was the absolute worst experience!

Truck return felt like I was constantly threatened with fees. It was not easy to find the return location bar code. The app was frustrating to use to return the truck.

the person that check me in was great knowledgeable and funny light hearted and kind. the problem is the truck they gave me was parked so close to the next one i had to fold in both mirrors to get out also there was a curb on the other side and a truck behind i had to pull in and out 5 times to get out of the spot. there was no passenger side sun visor otherwise the truck was old but clean. I was asked to return the trick in a parking lot around the corner from the uhaul location then charged an extra mile of use. I drove 9 miles and put 1 gallon of gas in the truck. It was not full when i picked it up so i just went off the miles drove and eyeballed it. When i returned the truck i was charged for 4 gallons of gas off 9 miles of use and charged for 10 miles when i took a picture at drop off and i only drove it 9 miles. i know these trucks are not fuel efitient but there is no way they get less 2 miles to the gallon.

Overall I'd rate the facility 5 stars however there were several communication issues. Issues that led to me being over charged, which then led to long wait times on the phone and me ultimately driving 40 min to speak to someone in person. Most recently I made an arrangement to move out before being charged for another month. I moved out as planned and I still got charged. Despite my driving to make the arrangement in person 3 days prior. So it pains me to leave a poor rating but this plus the other issues with storage insurance cannot be overlooked. I talked with several reps to get the charge reversed they agreed to do so within 3 business days. It didn't get resolved so now I must dispute the charge with my cc company. 3yrs renting there was an infestation that was due to another customer storing foodin her unit, led to some considerable damage with furniture having to be discarded. Luckily the location manager made concessions to cover the insurance company's ineptitude. Uhaul needs better customer support.

Were told over phone that 2 10x20 climate controlled units were reserved for us. Confirmed 2 days prior to arriving with 2 26 foot UHaul trucks from Bend OR - 4 hours away over snowy mountain pass. Learned only. 10x20 and a 10x15 in outside units were reserved - not climate controlled. Ended up renting 3 units to accommodate our belongings. Getting through paperwork took almost 1 1/2 hours. Everyone friendly but seemed chaotic. Then found the two 10 x 15 units were filthy - not cleaned at all. One even had dead mouse in corner. Spoke to a manger before we left regarding my concerns.

The latch on our unit was hard to slide back and forth. I had requested that it be oiled but it was not. I oiled it the last day before moving out. Everything else was fine. The one time I went into the office I had to wait a long time. Could use more help behind the counter. Everything else was fine.

Could use more counter help. Had trouble calling on the phone the first time I tried to contact you from the road however I believe I was talking with someone not located at your facility. The second time I called the 800 number things went well. You could use more help on your counter for customers checking in and out. The unit was clean and easy to access. I did ask someone to see if they could grease the latch on the storage unit as it is hard to open. This had not been done yet. Storage unit 1113.

I had a very poor move out experience at this facility. First, I was notified 30 minutes prior to renting a truck at this facility that it would not be available. I had to drive 7 miles in the opposite direction to pick up the truck and then return to this facility to clean out my storage unit. This costed me time and money because of the extra mileage. Second, when I arrived at the facility, there were to trailers blocking access to my unit. When I asked an employee if he could help me move them, he refused at first. I explained that my truck would be blocking the alley and it would be very difficult to move large items out of the unit with those trailers in front. He then asked ME if I would be comfortable lifting and moving them. I told him I could attempt that if he was okay with the liability of me getting injured in the process. He finally agreed to walk out with a tool to move one trailer out of my way. Finally, and most importantly, we discovered our unit had been infested by rats. Some items shredded to pieces and feces and urine everywhere. We will have to have some pieces of furniture cleaned professionally due to health and safety concerns. We are planning a move to Colorado this summer and have decided that Uhaul is no longer a company we want to do business with due to repeating issues. I am hoping that you will take this review seriously and address the staff and cleanliness issues. Please know that your unit has costed us hundreds of dollars in damages.

We reserved a big truck for the same place as our unit, when we moved out, we had to drive 45 min away to pick up a truck, because at this facility they only had big trucks for in town, we needed one way. We did get $50 off. And was told I would get some money back when we moved out, then was told no Uhaul don't give money back, I would have waited for the end of the month, I feel I have been on time with auto pay, and now Uhaul gets money for me moving out... I don't think that is right

It is not right that funds are not returned to the customer if they empty the unit before the next payment is due. Had the unit for over 5 years and emptied 10 days before next payment was due and should have received back funds for unused days.

The manager Jenny at the Hillsboro location is above and beyond absolutely amazing! She always took the time to talk with me work with me and make sure that my experience was great I work for a very big customer service company and people like her are an asset to any business she is amazing and deserves kudos for it

The only problem is that they waited two days to check in the uhaul. We left the uhaul with them the day we moved into storage.They charged 68 dollars. I believe this was an error on their part. Everything else was fine.

Jenni and her team give excellent customer service! Both my wife and I have been in there several times over last two months preparing for selling a house and an out of state move. We've bought moving supplies, rented a storage unit, rented trucks on different occasions and have used the UBOX service as well.They are a extremely busy location and often have a line of customers. They always greet each person and make sure to let you know they see you and will be with you shortly. Jenni is an asset to your company and manages her store and trains her employees well. Upon arrival I was told the storage unit I had reserved wasn't available. I was offered a size larger, however told I'd have to pay the difference. This was the third issue I had with U-Haul while moving this weekend. Eventually the staff ended up giving two months free instead of the 1 month free I received with my truck to help make up the difference. However, we waited over an hour while they were trying to figure out what was available. I ended up in a 10x10x6, which was more expensive and smaller than the 10x8x9 I had reserved. I wouldn't recommend U-Haul in the future.

If I had to pay for the month then it would be a lower rating. Nobody answers the phones and the poor staff are always trying to run around to try to keep up with whatever is happening. Consider better pay / incentives to hopefully have better staff morale and better work ethic. I loathe anytime I have to use uhaul because the staff are never on the same page between days or locations. I don't understand why I couldn't finish my rental online or over the phone even though my unit was empty and I had taken the lock.

When opened storage unit found to large puddles on my car hints also 3 different occasions 2 of which we were unable to get to storage unit due to returns parked 5 feet apart the opening was smaller than our vehicle and Sunday I had to guid driver through space that was when I left

It was a great facility and made a difference that the staff was so nice - even the "New kid " Casey. The place was just far to conJested with numerous other rental equipment- trucks, trailers, containers. We moved out in spite of planning to stay on a few more months. Too crazy- busy there even though great staff willing to move things around - too hot to stand and wait!

The person at the desk did not tell me how to use the alarm system, so it set off. Then when I went back to the office to ask about it, she didn't seem to have any concern that one went off, which seems like the whole reason for the alarms. I also was not told during my reservation that I had an odd shaped unit, I did not find out until I arrived and was handed a map.
