I tried to return the van and it asked for me to scan a QR code. There is no QR code anywhere in, around, or on that building. The employee at the gas station had no idea and tried to help me find one. He ended up calling a uhaul rep and they just said to leave the van.Andrew B.

My U-Haul was not unlocked even after I verified my identification and other info. It took an additional 30+ minutes to get the lock box code for the key, which made me late to my storage unit. I was so late that the storage unit facility was closed and I was unable to unload my truck. I had help just for that night and so this completely messed everything up. I had to rent the truck overnight (out of my own wallet) and find additional help the next day. This was a terrible experience and I will be wary about renting a U-Haul this way in the future.Fillip P.

The guy Working there tried to send me to return my rental at another location because he had cars lined up where the rental was to be returned. Almost as if it was an inconvenience for him to take back the rental. When I arrived at the other location they explained to me that the truck I had rented was to be returned where I had just got sent away from otherwise they would have to charge me an extra 315 dollars. Upon arrival, the U-haul app/website completely locked us out of our reservation. There is no customer service representative at this location since it is literally a gas station, so we needed to call customer service where we were hung up on twice after waiting an hour for somebody to help us. I ended up creating a new reservation by creating a whole new account, then went through 20 mins of another customer service live verification over the messaging service to unlock the keys. The lady was so rude and had no problem making this already frustrating situation much more difficult. We ended up getting our truck after an hour and a half of dealing with waiting on hold or being hung up on. You would be better off going to a location with actual representatives there to help you. This was a horrible experience.Mark G.
Everyone was very accommodating because I had some unforeseen and uncontrollable incidents that kept me from returning truck on time, I appreciated everyone's understanding. This was my first U-Haul experience that was extremely frustrating and disappointing. This location had a lock box feature, and the person inside could only tell me that I should have been sent instructions. I downloaded the U-Haul app and completed the express online check-in, but then received no information or further steps as to how to get into the lock box. I tried both the app and the website, I googled solutions, and I finally had to turn to calling customer service. I waited on hold for 15 minutes before being transferred and then holding another 15 minutes. By the time that I got through to someone, I had been trying to get into my U-Haul rental for 45 minutes. When I finally got through to the right agent, they told me that I had not been activated for 24/7 truck share, which is what I needed to do to get into the lock box. If I had known that upon booking the rental, I could have saved a lot of time. There were two other parties at this location having the same issue as me, and we all had to contact customer support. Previously I've only ever gone to full service U-Haul locations and I'll be doing that in the future.LAURA W.

This location didn't really understand how to be a U-Haul operation center. This was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. When i went to pick up the truck it took atleast 25 minutes because the person Lenin's the counter had limited knowledge of the U-Haul system and directed me with the phone number of a boss of his who was also not very helpful. Ultimately i ended up going back in the store and putting it on speaker phone so that they can communicate and give me a key. They also forgot to either prepare the truck with the dollys and the blankets or give me them, not sure. But i ended up having to go back for them. Dropping it off and wrongly being charged a late fee is also a whole other issue, partially unrelated to the store itself and more the poor functioning of the application and directions when it isnt at a U-Haul location. Please train everyone there or have a designated person helping. There were many people coming in after me for help and no one really knew what to do including the worker. The online check in took over an hour with complcations. I was so annoyed. The truck when I inspected it had the tire icon on with another icon I didn't understand. There was no one around I can ask about these icons. I had to drive to the nearest uhaul to get air in the tires. Duringing my whole 100 mile trip the tire icon was on and I felt unsafe. I surely do not want to use the online pick up again..it made me late for my arrival time. My moving time for my movers had to be changed for both locations.Angelina O.

Terrible experience renting from U-Haul. My reservation for in person pickup was not honored, at the last minute it was switched to 24/7 pickup. The process to pickup the vehicle did not work on my phone. Even after 30min on the phone with customer service, and speaking with multiple people, U-Haul could not get it to work and continued to deny me the ability to do in person pickup as originally promised. It did not work on my fiance's phone either. After 45min, and speaking with additional representatives he was able to begin the process and requested the representative stay on the line in case we ran into more trouble. We were unable to complete several steps, and the had representative hung up so we had no one to help us unless we hopped back into line to talk to someone. We think the problem was poor camera quality of his phone, but who knows. We finally got it to work and U-Haul still wanted us to return the vehicle at the original time, so we had to rush our move to get it done. It is completely unacceptable that U-Haul discriminates against people who do not have expensive smart phones. No one should be denied their services based off of their financial situation, especially when services had been promised that didn't require a phone. I will never use U-Haul again and their company policies need to be reexamined.Stephanie N.

When I arrived, I did not have a key code to the lock boxes where the keys are kept. I asked the attendant inside and he said I should've received a key code. I told him I followed the instructions exactly that UHaul gave me. He had me call someone who verified to him, that I indeed had a reservation. He then used a master key to open the lock boxes, to where no keys were. He made another call and finally was able to obtain the key I needed. Less than par service.Faith W.

It was completely self service despite being given an option to interact with a person, that person said we had to go through the self service. The self service was a nightmare to set up and we got a service charge for returning it early, again self service. We were forced to park it in an incredibly tight spot after filling the gas tank, and they have the nerve to charge us for dropping it off early as if there was some kind of inconvenience to someone. Outrageous. I would like to get a $20 refund for â€œafter hours serviceâ€ The only person did any after hours service was me!Richard S.

I had reserved a UHAUL at a much closer location to only be called at 7 pm the night before that the "reserved" trucks were already booked at said location. Then I got rerouted to a "closed location" and spent an hour trying to call the manager of the locarion because we weren't given access codes to get the keys into the UHAUL. Honestly, it was an incredibly disappointing experience with UHAUL this time around. My first experience moving with you guys was amazing, but this one was frustrating to say the least.Erika S.
Mobile pickup took a while to approve, but then agent on phone was quick to help. Approval resolved over phone. Cup holders and radio control area down through shelves a little gross, but other than that okay. Truck functioned fine. No surprises. Fast efficient move.Scott P.
i first tried the uhaul location three miles east on the same street and their customer service was horrible. I then tried the uhaul at the Ultra Gas. The manager was friendly and helped me out as a walk in with no reservation. Renting and returning was easy. I will not recommend the mobile/contactless process to anyone. Aside from the Utility Dolly not being in my truck (which I reserved), the sun visor in the truck was broken and kept swinging in my face anytime I made a turn. The phone number on my contract (619-272-7567) had a full voicemail box, so I could not contact anyone about the missing dolly. Resolving that issue over the phone to get a dolly took me away from being able to help move boxes (which were supposed to be moved by the dolly), so the whole process was lengthened by about 3 hours. Not just because we missed the dolly, but the extra driving I had to do (out of my way) to go get a dolly later, then I used more gas that I wouldn't otherwise have used, and had to pay extra to replace the gas that I used. I figured leaving the gas at less than 1/4 tank that I got it at would just complicate this situation more, even though it might have compensated me for the inconvenience. The point is, I understand that mistakes happen and someone may have forgotten the dolly, but the phone number having a full mail box leaving me with no one to get a hold of, was incredibly frustrating. Please find a way to resolve this.Ryan V.
First of all, get a truck that you can turn the ignition on!!! Told man to come try to start ... he's checking out customers (only one there!!) and he came out TWICE (when he could....lost moving time) and HE HAD DIFFICULTY!! DURING THE MOVE, DAMN THING WOULDNT START!! Had to ask help! Owner of convenience then tells me I only have THREE HOURS. Sorry for all the problem but he says Sorry....you only have 3 hours to move!! We worked our asses off ... arrive I think 15 min. late and owner said someone would help me check out. Clerk too busy and said I DONT WORK FOR U-HAUL. Finally after I yelled (not his fault) CALL YOUR MANAGER, he did and he said to forget picture (whatever/of truck odometer) he comes out to help me. I will be very upset if U-Haul CHARGES me late fees. Actually, for all the BS with starting that f'ing truck, I should be CREDITED the daily rental!!Karen R.

The automated pick up was challenging. My information was submitted the day prior but I needed to wait over 20 minutes for an online guy to approve my application. The dolly I ordered was not provided and I had to keep movers waiting (and pay them) while I was unable to access the truck. I would never use your automated system again, it's terrible and the customer service to fix the problem was difficult to reach and then ignored my concerns.Jared N.

When returning the vehicle, the web site indicated to return the keys to the agent (there is no agent; only a drop-box; which was confusing). The rest of the experience was great.Jeremy W.
We had a lot of issues during our experience. Online it said that we could list someone other than the person booking as the driver. This caused a lot of issues later on. We also needed to verify 3 people for driving and by the time this was completed our reservation had deemed us as late. It was not easy getting it reinstated. When we finally got going, we learned that the gas line had been cut on the truck. We then had to sort that out and this resulted in further delays. The overall experience of having to speak to someone on the phone vs having someone in person was frustrating and would make me question using this service in the future.Adam W.
