Mobile pickup/drop off is so helpful! But also in particular I really like Miguel, he helped give me good advice and what I might need for the project I had. Him plus the ease of renting is why I keep coming back :)

The mobile pick up experience could be improved. I felt I could have checked out quicker in person. Having to take photos of my ID and add an additional number once I got there did not save time.

Check engine light went on pretty quickly after we left and remained on. The ride was very bumpy and loud, shocks were shot. This truck needs maintenance. Personnel were very helpful.

I resereved a van for a one way trip days in advance only to get there and have the receptionist say they neither have vans nor do they do one way trips. Ridiculous. The receptionist (Jacqueline) claimed the office left a message detailing the incompetance, however there was no message left on the contact number we gave. I tried showing her my two (2) confirmation emails saying I was supposed to get a van; she wasn't having any of it and seemed entirely unempathetic that we had alter our plans AND pay more for a larger vehicle. What is the point of reserving a vehicle if it won't be there when we go to pick it up? What is the point of giving us a quote if you're going to force us to pay a different (higher) price? To put it politely: I would never recommend that particular U-Haul office to anyone, and I wouldn't recommend ordering online since the the system appearantly lies to you.

No problems at the 940 Florence location. However, the same cannot be said for the 964 S LaBrea where I was originally scheduled to pick up the truck. My first question when I called to rent the truck was "do you rent to 18 year olds?" I was assured you did. So imagine my surprise when, after walking 1.5 miles to 964 La Brea, I was told they did not rent to anyone under 21. They also cited a temporary restriction on my license which expired last year. And with that they cancelled my order, preventing me from submitting a review about them directly. Conversations with several members of your customer service team proved fruitless because they were unable to reach the La Brea Ave location by phone. A second order was placed for me, this time at the Manchester Blvd location which was changed to the 940 Florence location, again a 1.5 mile walk. Apparently the La Brea Ave shop is independently owned and operated and has the choice of renting or not. It would have saved me a lot of time and walking if Corporate, which takes and assigns the orders, had known that.

When i returned the truck the person working there refused to take the truck telling me there were to many vehicles there and there was no room. She told me to take it somewhere else. The lady working there was very angry and yelling at me the entire time. Unreal!

Everything was great however I fell asleep inside the back of the truck and upon waking up 14 small birds where on my shoulder. At first I was astonished however these birds were very kind and they helped me move my products from the truck into my storage unit. One of them passed gas on my father which gave me a good laugh. I locked them in my storage unit with plenty of bird seed. I hope every U-Haul truck comes with a gassy bird flock!

The new “phone “ system is a pain, you can’t get a good look at the pictures of the truck when you’re inspecting at check out, and what if I don’t have a phone with me??
