The customer service was horrible and when i finally could get the uhaul latch open the inside of the truck was dirty.
Tammy TI sent this to u-haul Subject: Complaint Regarding Unacceptable U-Haul Experience and Additional Charges I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service I recently received from U-Haul. This experience has been by far the most frustrating I have ever encountered with your company. A few days before my scheduled rental, I received a text from the pick-up location, requesting that I tow a trailer to a different location on my way. While they offered a discount for this, I declined the offer. Subsequently, I received an email from U-Haul informing me that I needed to pick up my truck at a location 67 miles away from my original pick-up point. Despite the inconvenience, I did not raise an immediate concern but did contact the new location the day before my rental to confirm that the truck would be ready at 10:00 AM. They assured me it would be. However, when I arrived the next day, no one was present at the location. After reaching out to them by phone, I was informed that it would be at least an hour before someone could assist me due to an emergency. Shortly after, I received a text from U-Haul stating that my reservation would be canceled because I did not pick up the truck at 10:00 AM. I was directed to call the number provided to keep my reservation. When I called, the representative I spoke with was astonishingly rude-by far the worst customer service interaction I have ever experienced. After being repeatedly interrupted and spoken to dismissively, I requested to speak with a manager. The representative claimed to be the manager and continued to be unhelpful and abrasive. Despite my attempts to explain the situation, she insisted that I could unlock a key box using the U-Haul app, even though the key box at the location required a physical key. After finally understanding the situation, she attempted to contact the local staff but was unsuccessful. She then instructed me to return to the original location, 67 miles away, to pick up the truck I initially reserved. As you can imagine, I was extremely frustrated at this point. Fortunately, before we left, the U-Haul representative arrived and was able to unlock the key box. He apologized for the delay, but the inconvenience was significant. We had to drive the truck 67 miles back to load our belongings, which required us to stay an additional day. To make matters worse, when I returned the truck, I was charged for the extra mileage I had to drive due to U-Haul's failure to provide the truck at the originally agreed-upon location. This entire ordeal was completely avoidable, and the lack of customer service only compounded the issue. I strongly urge you to review the recorded phone call with the representative in question, as her behavior was unacceptable. Additionally, I believe the extra mileage charge should be refunded, given that the situation was entirely due to U-Haul's failure to meet the original terms of the rental agreement. I am open to discussing this matter further and would appreciate your prompt attention to resolving this issue.
Robert DThe dropoff location wasnt the one it was supposed to be which made me go over on mileage a bit, overall though, it wasnt a dealbreaker.
James OLocation failed to communicate effectively. I had an issue and no real solution was offered to me. I would never rent from this place again!

RICHARD SI returned truck at 12:50 pm. Was assured i would receive final contract within 30 minutes. Called after 5 hours and was told truck was not checked in yet. This was very disconcerting.

Anderia EBetter customer service and better people skills. Start inspecting the vehicles instead of just allowing people to leave and you falsify the document.
