The pick up was excellent, The office manager was a huge help and helped me attach the trailer, as I had never done it before. I will be using them in the future.

It's not the location, the equipment or the personnel that garnered the two star rating. It's the after hours pickup. It took me over an hour to finally get through the process. The U-Haul app would not let me start the pickup process. I had to call U-Haul and then it took 30 minutes for them to get me to the point of using the self check out. At the end of the process I was directed to the lock boxes to pickup the key to the truck. Imagine my surprise when the lock box number was I was given was 5-6 numbers long and the boxes in front of me were numbered 1 & 2. The locks on the lock boxes were rusted to the point I had to spray them to WD40 to get them to work.

CHADWICK MThey charged me for 3 gal of gas when I returned the truck where I received it , and they charged me for 1 mile extra when I returned it within my allotted miles. The vendor did not discuss any charges with me; he did not walk the truck over with me; he did not even ask my name; he just took the keys. I returned the truck at 2 pm, and he just said he would check me in; it was a one-way trip right. Then, I checked my email tonight, and I am billed for 14.79. That's stealing. I got an email at 6 pm, but I returned the truck at 2 pm. I am not sure what kind of scam is going on at this location, but someone needs to refund me $14.79. Uhaul do better; this vendor is stealing from your customers. I am very upset; i have done a lot of business with Uhaul in the past, but if this is how you allow vendors to do your customers, we will not be doing business in the future.
Kimberlyn BRented over a Holiday weekend and wanted to return the trailer early but because I was uninformed that a person does not physically have to be present to turn trailer in. There was a phone number on the door however when I called no answer so I maintained the trailer for an additional day due to a lack of understanding of how the process works. If the camera is the check in then someone should have probably answered/returned my call when I pulled in on the 4th of September 2023 and then exited with trailer due to not wanting to leave it without gaining credit. Overall happy with the equipment and service, but please refer to comments.

byron dWe wanted a 20 foot truck and got a 15 foot truck. We didn't realize this until we had half of our stuff in the truck. We could not fit everything into the truck, so we had to go back to Fayetteville NC the next day to rent a 10 foot truck and bring the rest of our stuff back to Gastonia NC. We had to put more money out then we should have had to.

BRIAN JI was redirected to this location after trying to log in for over an hour at the location I was supposed to pick up from & being on the phone with customer service for an additional 34 minutes. This location was 20 minutes (in the opposite direction) from my other pick up point so that added more mileage & more gas returning it. I lost over 2 hours of loading time, which caused me to lose 2 hours of the help I had arranged for, which in turn made me have to move more by myself & the loading to carry over into the next day. Of course the next day was POURING rain all day causing me to have to keep the truck an additional day. Usually I have good experiences with U Haul but this was a total mess. Nothing against the location I ended up renting from the reps were nice but the rest of the experience was highly disappointing.

Timothy FWas overcharged $80 ($40x2) for "wrong destination" charge. Both contracts (vehicle and trailer) indicate Your Way Auto Mart as drop off location. At no point did I receive an email or phone call to indicate any change. Need an explanation.
