We also have 3 storage units here and are extremely pleased with the facility condition and Leslie's thoroughly professional and caring management of 1st Self Storage and U-Haul. This is an outstanding U-Haul location. We'll be back! To answer the question: Please equip these 26-footers with a longer ramp! Despite the "lower deck height" hype, the U-Haul ramp angle on this 26' truck is about the same as the 40-50" high bed of other trucks in this group. There's no real advantage to the lower deck height unless the ramp angle is less steep than other 26' trucks, so I suggest U-Haul consider a longer ramp or tone down the "lower deck" hype on your bigger trucks, since it's essentially meaningless.

Clayton KingThis location took it upon themselves to alter my rental agreement without contacting me ahead of time. The removed my appliance dolly and left me with a regular dolly. My whole purpose for renting a 15' truck was for the use of the ramp and an appliance dolly because I was moving 2 refrigerators. Thankfully, Vivian Obright was more than helpful in locating a dolly for me to use. I will NEVER utilize this location again and will make sure that others that I know do not use it either

Janet Cordes1)have a spare or master key on hand. We started the truck, left the door open, and while inspecting truck the wind pushed the door enough until it caught the latch and locked. Needed a locksmith. Cost $140. Ridiculous. 2)offer an alternative to the link to return truck virtually. 'Share Location' was an issue, so we called customer service and their screen view and mine didn't seem to match. Finally got thru it but not a pleasant experience.

robert mcclaryI was assigned a drop off location in Springfield Ga, When I got there, the lady at that location stated that "they do not accept auto transports". When I asked her to call the UHaul people, she called her boss instead, which he then stated he "did not accept trailer". I asked again to contact the Uhaul people because this was my signed location on my signed contract. The lady called the Uhaul people, and told them "she did not have any room for it", which they did have plenty of space to put a trailer. The Uhaul guy (Anthony) then asked to speak with me and tell me how I was "his customer, but the drop off lot was also "his customer" and he needed to keep them happy. He then said that I could take it "right up the road", and he would give me a $25 credit". As I am on the phone with him, I left and was going "right up the road", to the next Uhaul location. As I was parking the trailer in the lot, he said I was not in the right spot and needed to go to the next town (Rincon GA). I said I was not going any further due to the fact that my location was changing over and over. He then told me he "knew the lady where I was at, and she was not going to like the trailer dropped off but he would talk with her". When a reminded him about the $25 credit, he laughed at me and said "that was not going to happen because I was not doing what I was told". I explained that the next town was further away, added to the distance I already traveled to get to the first location, and was tired of the run around. I honored my contract and followed the rules, and was not going to drop it off just anywhere. I told him he sucked 9which was not very nice of me) and that he was no help, and hung up the phone.... because by then I was very aggravated. Now here I am, waiting at the second location because the women was not at work and did not show up for another 15 minutes. When she did show up, she said she was 'not going to take the trailer". I explained to her that I was done running around and was over all this, and was leaving the trailer right where it was at. However, in the end she was nice enough to sign me out and let me drop the trailer. I don't think Uhaul was totally wrong in this situation, however...he (Anthony), as well as the first drop location (1783 GA Hwy21) need to communicate better with the Uhaul staff members and make sure that things can go much more fluent. Seems to be major communication issues and customer service was low because of this. It could go much smoother if everyone followed the same guidelines, or was aware of each others policy's.

It was absolutely abhorrent that these items were "canceled" right as we arrived to pick up the truck. Nobody in the office. Nobody answering the phone. Online was equally unhelpful with the "oh well" attitude. Will be using Penske from now on.

DONALD STROSNIDERYour after hours return fee is a rip off. Most people work Monday thru Friday. I rented the truck for 2 days, ending at 9:30 am on Monday. I return it early, on Sunday afternoon, thereby enabling me to make it to work on time Monday morning. For this I get hit with an after hours return. Last time I rent a U Haul where I can't return it during normal business hours.
Joel GentzlingerI had a confirmation for 8 am in statesboro- got there was told noon- called you see if I could get anything before noon- was told 45 min away- said I would keep noon in statesboro- happened to look and saw reservation was now in Springfield- called to see why not noon in statesboro? Told only option was Springfield and had to leave right then to get there before they closed- so added 45 miles to my trip and almost exceeded 248 miles!! No reason for reservation to be changed twice with no alerts to tell me so- was a horrible experience!

Andrew KeattsThe truck had a maintenance issue. The filler neck on the fuel tank had a hose clamp that was not tightened. The neck pinched not allowing the truck to be filled up with gas. I had to fix it myself. Uhaul was extremely unhelpful, gave me the run around and told me to call the place I rented it. They said they don't do maintenance or refunds. Meanwhile I call U haul back and they give me a number to call with no response. Uhaul clearly doesn't care that they have faulty equipment on the road. I tried calling the drop off location. No answer. So uhaul has probably re-rented this truck that I had to repair roadside. What an unprofessional joke. $800 for a broken truck.

gwen messexI rented this Uhaul online with the 24/7 feature. This is extremely confusing service and I had such a difficult time trying to login to pick the truck up that I had to change my rental days to be there when a person was onsite. When I dropped the truck off I was given the wrong instructions so the truck was not checked in correctly and I was charged a third day for the rental and some of the customer service agents that I called where not helpful.. I spent almost and hour tying to check the truck out and I kept calling customer servce at 10 at night at a closed storage unit by myself and I really got no help. The fees for me to rent this vehicle for two days was almost 400 dollars to drive in town I feel like this service was a rip off and a waste of money I would have rather drug my furniture by hand to my new home than use this service. The trucks are fine but the fees are ridiculous and confusing I I knew I was paying a dollar a mile I would have never used this service I think it should be explained better. A phone call should be placed after an online rental so an agent can be clear about the charges. I would recommend any other service to someone over using Uhaul and I would rather carrying my furniture on my back 1000 miles over using this service and I have waited 3 days to hear back from the supervisor on my dispute still have not heard from him.

Thomas AdamsFirst make sure the fuel is correct. My truck was picked up with 50 miles to empty and the paperwork indicated a quarter of a tank. My vehicle was full of sand and pine needles. Took a hour to complete the vehicle pick up.
