I put in gas to the equivalent of when I rented and was overcharged $30 more for fuel. I'm unsatisfied and will file a complaint unless my fuel is credited. I have a receipt and witness. Annoying and not a good use of my time to have to deal with this.

They not only did not clean it. Seats were covered in animal hair. They would not even give me some tape so I could clean it myself. It smelled like wet dog. I feel the odometer was rigged. It turned over way to quickly for one mile at a time. Also they had starting miles listed 5 miles over what actual was. A-boy is in the rental business but they feel they don't have to clean the trucks or vans like a normal rental. Also they charged 3 times the milages. enterprise charged 25cents they charged 89 cents. total rip off.

I have rented trucks a number of times just in this week and have had a really bad experiance loosing a lot of money to a scam on line and whilke trying to move everything i own by myself i end up being an hour 2 late but I get charged for an entire second day and the second day charge is higher then the fisrt day if I didn't have to got make sure the gas was full and swept it out while in the parking lot the time of the return is listed as whenthe guy finally got in the truck the check it out not when i had the truck back this is poor service and taking advantage of little things that most local places would see what I was trying to do and they would understand whats going on and not charge me for being a little late esp when we talked on the phone and they said just make sure its in before 6 they never said it needs to be in befor 2 or we are charging you for another day. this was sneaky and i will be filing a complaint to who I can about this. such a bummer I really liked going into your store but this is the second time this has happened the first time I had the guy talk to me so rude and treated me as if i was a homeless drug user that was there to steal stuff im shoked at the level judgement i get from the employees my guess is cause i have a few tattoos but my money has always been good

We were charged for 49 miles. We moved to another home in our neighborhood and in all drove less than 6 miles. It was very frustrating and stressful.

Did the online reservation which was fairly easy and helped speed up the process. Took about 20 minutes in the A-Boy store to complete the reservation when I went to pick up the van. The online quote was $120 for the rental and mileage but was $37 more when I picked it up. The largest piece of the extra amount was a $27 city tax that U-Haul does not Show when estimating on line. They should be able to show that as they know the pick up location. If I had known about this I could have compared prices with the location in Tigard and maybe paid less tax. So beware that the quoted price online will probably be lower than the actual price you pay. The folks at A-Boy were very friendly.

I reserved a Uhaul at least 10 days prior to needing, the day before I received a call and was told I needed to pick up at a different location because the truck size I reserved was no longer available at the location I chose. I chose that original location because it was much more convenient the one I had to go to was less convenient. I wanted to pick up the U-Haul by 8 AM and this location did not open till nine and their service level is not good we did not get out of there till after 10 but put us already behind for the day. Then we were told it had to be back by 5pm Which limited our time again. Because we ended up with a smaller truck we had to do two trips I called U-Haul the person I spoke to was very nice worked it out where we didn't have to bring in the truck and could keep it overnight and not be charged. But the day became very long because we have to do two trips plus double the gas very very unhappy

I was shocked when I realized (too late) that my rental didn't have a ramp or any sort of d-rings to secure the cargo. VERY disappointed considering I spent about $70 for a 2 hour rental.

The truck I reserved was not on site when I arrived to pick it up at 9 am. There were no other trucks, and they had to call the last reservation.. but I was scheduled to pick up the trick at 9 am. Truck not cleaned, i had to ask the staff person to take a spray bleach bottle and go clean.. although it did not look or smell clean and we are in a pandemic. When i reserved I asked about covid protocol and i was told my truck would be in the night before and thoroughly cleaned. that did not happen. there also wasn't a full tank of gas. really not a good experience.

Replace the jalopy I rented. It felt like it was about to jump off its own frame, was unstable over 45 mph, and the tow hitch was previously damaged in such a way that it has a very sharp edge that gave me a 2-3 inch gash in my leg.

don't offer check in app/online check-in at this location, its not any faster because you have to go in anyway to pick up the key. Or allow customers to do the face and id recognition and approval prior to picking up truck. I had to stand out in the rain for part of this online process, not fun. Customer service was great though. very friendly and helpful.

The folks at A-Boy were great. Two things that were upsetting were: 1) the gas tank reading on the check-out form was higher than the tank reading on the vehicle so I had to fill it up extra and 2) the hidden insurance fee that was never discussed when I made the reservation.

All perfect except the cab had been smoked in and the bed and other was un-cleaned. I called 5 min. later as soon as I got it home to load and called Jason as I didn't want to get a cleaning charge. He said he understood. I mentioned it again to the guy I gave the keys to behind the U-Haul counter when returning and he said he was not a U-Haul guy and if I didn't need an immediate receipt I could just go. I said OK, left and received the email receipt at home which had a $25 cleaning fee. Please credit my card you have on file and email me a corrected receipt minus the $25 cleaning fee. Please contact Will, Jason or the older guy behind the counter I left the keys and original paperwork with to receive confirmation of what I have said. We love the location and the people are great. The "location" isn't the issue. They were pleasant and helpful. The Issue is the shady business practices of Uhaul. I reserved Online and went to pick up and was hit with Hidden Charges. Estimated Hidden Charges. Then when I returned and received the final bill, those estimated Hidden Charges - INCREASED - with Additional Charges added. Dishonest, shady, sleezy, business practices. It doesn't matter if the hidden charges were $1 or $100 - hidden charges are not the way to conduct an honest business. All charges need to be spelled out upfront...including the credit card processing fee. Why would you charge your customers a credit card processing fee? I'm required to use a Credit Card, and then you charge an additional fee for using the credit card. If the cost of doing business is $30.00, then you should correctly advertise the price at $30.00. Be Honest. I would rather pay more for dealing with an Honest company with Integrity. Don't advertise $19.99 and then charge multiple hidden fees in order to cover your additional cost.

This location is inside A-Boy and it's unclear if the employees who check in/out are A-Boy or UHaul employees. At one time we had 3 employees helping with the check in process on the computer blaming Uhaul for the system slowness, lack of training and scheduling. As a customer, I really don't care, I simply pre-ordered the Uhaul, expected to arrive, have it ready, pay and leave.

Actually a mile down the road I received notice the gas cap was not on properly. I pulled over and found it open, and could smell a strong odor of gasoline. I closed it and and checked the fuel level and it said it was below the half way mark. I hadn't checked the gas level before I got in, but hadn't driven very far. I forgot to notify the place when I dropped it off.

State more clearly U-Haul is not open until 10AM. They made an exception for us which was very nice, but when we came into the store the employees were very rude about us being there before 10AM. Next time I would choose a different store with clearer hours.

A-Boy Barbur blvd location workers are the best! I received excellent customer service, from being warmly greeted as I entered, to being treated with the utmost respect by Jason, who walked me through my rental transaction. My husband had to work that day, and this was my first time renting anything like this by myself, but Jason was very patient with me, and went out of his way to make sure I understood the contract. He even helped me pack the hand truck in my van. What a gentleman! Thank you A-Boy on Barbur for making this first time rental experience an awesome one. Keep up the great work!

The service at A Boys was great and if I didn't have to deal with U-Haul corporate I would use them again. Your employee Hunter in the Lake Oswego office is rude and dishonest. Rarely have I dealt with someone in customer service that thinks it is okay to threaten cancel a person's reservation. She had zero concern about me as customer and offered no viable solutions. Grateful the guys at A Boys took care of me!

Took an hour to “check in” as the computer system was extremely slow. The truck was filthy. And had a rancid smell. It was unsafe to drive due to mud caked on the windows. Our move was delayed 2 hours due to this. We cleaned the windows and the interior of the cab. Oh, and then we had to fill it with gas. I don't know who is in charge of this... but I feel we should be reimbursed for the 2 hour delay due to the condition of the truck and computer issues they had at the pick up drop off location.

i tried the self pick up and after following all the directions and waiting for 20 min, it simply said that the process wasn't completed. But when i talked to the staff at the location they were very helpful.

We had reserved a moving van at a different location (Kelly Ave). 3 days before our reservation, we were told that there isn't a van at that location and they assigned us the Barbur location. We had to pay for extra mileage as the Barbur location is farther although the people there were very courteous and efficiency. Why is UHaul taking reservations when you can't produce the van? And If you can't honor a reservation at a certain location, shouldn't you offer a discount of some kind?

This location has slow and inefficient customer service. It took 45 minutes past my scheduled pickup time to get paperwork signed, the truck brought to the front of the store and a reminder to get the blankets I requested at the time of my reservation. Upon return the people helping were sarcastic and coy. I've rented from here multiple times, A-Boy on Barber Blvd. and every time I've had a similar experience. One one occasion they took an hour to find the keys for the van I reserved after telling me they couldn't find them and I must have reserved at a different location.

The manager in charge was generally helpful, but he seemed frustrated with one of his employees for not being on the floor nonstop. He berated him in front of me. Not only was his employee visibly bothered, but it was also an awkward and uncomfortable exchange for me to watch. The same employee walked me out to the vehicle and was very warm and helpful in his demeanor. I felt that this employee was genuinely caring about my inquiries and he even helped me find products in my price range. I would go back to this location for the type of service that the employee offered, but there was nothing special about the managers service that would make me recommend this location to anyone else, although he did make me aware of the high cost of gas per/gal if I did not refuel the vehicle myself which was nice. Also, why doesn't UHAUL provide locks for their large vehicles? I was tempted to give the one I was forced to purchase to the location for following customers to use, but I wasn't sure if the store would just absorb the purchase back into inventory.. moving is stressful and expensive, and all of the little hidden costs add up.. building in small conveniences like that really make for a more seamless and personable experience for the customer. Just in case you care about that kind of thing.
