Things went well as we traveled 600 miles to pick up the rest of our things in TN. On the way to our new home, not so much. I was the only driver (69 y.o., 5'3" 125#) grandma. My husband rode shotgun due to an ankle fracture that precluded him from driving. Just south of Louisville, KY, the "check engine" light came on. I contacted Roadside Assistance & was told it could be 2 - 3 hours before help could arrive. There was no guarantee the truck could be fixed, or that we could get another 10' truck. The adviser said if it was acting OK I could drive it to the nearest Uhaul store, for which no information was provided. I did a Google search & found a place. The guy sold used cars & boats & could not help. He directed us north on I-65 to a "real" Uhaul store. They were very busy & were not AT ALL HELPFUL!!! We were there for 2 hours, waiting for them to find us another 10' truck. I had emergency service on the phone & the GM would not talk to them until I got very upset & yelled at her. To make a long story short, I ended up calling a Penske truck rental in New Albany, IN, about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville, KY. We got a better deal, a bigger truck & help unloading & reloading the two trucks. After calling Roadside Assistance AGAIN to let them know what we had done, we were told to stay with the truck until the tow truck arrived, within an hour at the most. I got a text an hour later, checking to see if we'd been assisted yet. Replied no. About 30 minutes later we got a call letting us know the towing company had a breakdown & we could leave. After wasting several hours, & a LOT of money, we incurred additional expense because we had to stay in a hotel. The local Uhaul store in Swanton, OH was awesome as far as customer service was concerned. We were contacted on Monday by Patty, who responded to my voice mail telling her of our ordeal. She has been the shining star in this whole debacle. We have spent over $900.00 for the Uhaul, Penske & an additional night hotel stay. Uhaul needs to make this right for us. We live on a fixed income & cannot afford all these extra expenses. We're counting on Uhaul to do the right thing.

This company is a joke. I would recommend to anyone moving to use any other truck company. They screwed up almost every part of the reservation. I had to go 20 miles out of my way to pick the truck up because they didn't bring it to my location and the lied to me about the 24/7 pick up because I had to to sit around for 2 hours waiting for the place to open. I then asked if I was going to get charged the extra miles because of their problem and they said no. Well you guessed it, they tried to charge me extra when I dropped it off. I urge you to use any other company. It will save you a lot of problems and headaches.

The service personnel met us as soon as we parked the truck! Was helpful, asked if we had all of our rented equipment in the truck, and if the was enough gas in the truck as well. She even made sure to ask which dolly we had, which we had both and only rented the one. I will recommend this location if I every hear of someone needing to move!

We ordered a truck for pick up in the Bowling Green OH area and the day before, we were instructed to pick up truck at a LATER time in a remote location about 30-45 minutes away. We had to drive this distance in our car which is NOT what we expected to do. We Were NOT happy that we had to put mileage and extra gas into our vehicle. Not happy at all!!! And NOT fair to us since at that point we had no choiceqq

Our schedule drop off was May 4th according to our contract. They said it was May 3rd and charged us for an extra day. I contacted the central office to correct this, which they were very helpful and accommodating.

The Uhaul app did not work for our drop off. Luckily customer service helped and we got it done with the web browser. We dropped off and closed out our rental over 12 hours ago and still have not received an email confirming the end of our rental. The location we rented from was great.

Have an individual on site that has the knowledge of software and equipment being rented. Rent what is asked for and charge accordingly. I rented for 1 day was charged for 2 days. I asked for insurance on equipment and was not included when I picked up final receipt. The adaptor for trailer lights was not included and pulled the trailer to Napa store to purchase and hook up lights there. Overall not a good experience.

I went to my local uhaul on Friday and they said they didn’t have my uhaul. I was pissed off because i had to leave work early to pick it up. They spoke to someone on the phone and said I had to drive 20 minutes to go get it. No one called me or emailed about that. How was i suppose to know that i had to go pick it up somewhere else? Granted they upgraded the truck to a 15 foot but in the end I still ended up paying the same amount. How is that fair? I had to drive 20 extra minutes? Shouldn’t it be cheaper because of milage and all that stuff. I like uhaul but I am very disappointed at this entire Situation. Especially since no one told. What if I went to pick it up after hours and no one was there? Then I would have been screwed even more!!

I wil NEVER rent from U-Haul again. This was the. Worse experience ever and I dealt with the rudest lady EVER!!!! My preferred pick up location was changed and I was never notified. I wasted 2hts of my day dealing with that. I would like someone from U-Haul to contact me at 419-236-1162.

Truck was real jerky about 50mph, Break light came on and was beeping. Used way more gas than previous trucks. I think it needs serviced! The first truck I rented only needed a fill up once for the same trip this time required two plus $17.00 for being a hairline under 5/8. I feel I should be compensated in some way!

I was suppose to pick up uhaul on ligget street and it wasnt open very poor customer experience and i had it reserved and they let someone else rent it no sort of discount or anything and ive always used uhaul so wont use again highly disappointed was told getting a 20 foot truck and got a 14 footer

The pick up location was NOT the problem. UHAUL was!!! The pickup location was NOT in the same city as the one I had picked 3 weeks prior when I made the reservation. I had called the original pick up location 4 days prior to pick up date to see if I could pre pay early and it was confirmed a truck was available. They told me I couldnt pay early because UHAUL didnt have it in the system yet (why even make a reservation that early if they dont accomodate what you reserved for???) I got UHAUL's text and email stating the truck needed to be picked ip out of town. I drove out of state to pick the uhaul rental up plus extra driving time due to this issue. When I called customer service to see why this happened they were very unhelpful. Said just because I picked the city I wanted it wasnt a sure thing. Again, why the hell does anyone make a reservation then. I had talked to a supervisor finally. He discounted the price due to this. When I got to the pick up location we were there battling this guy for over an hour due to the price he told me it would be the day prior to pickup then what it was at pick up. He gave me his cell phone number to contact if I had any problems with pickup and it was over 10 phone calls back and forth trying to fix UHAUL's mistake! The WORST FIRST experience with UHAUL and most certainly wont do it again. After all the havoc they caused my family and I, I feel I should be reimbursed for the whole rental cost. It was TERRIBLE!!!!

it would really be nice to have a jack on the trailer to lift the tongue up high enough to set on the hitch of the truck. we had to lift it up onto the hitch, not real easy. other than that it was a good deal.

I still have not received my refund back to my account from the hold when the computer generated a random amount to hold, until the truck was returned. And it has been returned since Wednesday night.

The strap latches on the tow dolly were fairly rusty, but the rest of it was in decent shape. The building at the pickup location was outdated and not very welcoming. The woman at the counter was VERY helpful and helped me hook up the dolly even though she said that was not part of her job there. I also asked what would happen if I needed to change my drop-off location and she said I just needed to call the rental number that she provided for me, this wording was also in the contract that I signed. However, when I called to change the drop-off location they informed me that there would be a fee of up to twice the amount I already paid for the rental in order to change the drop-off location. Nowhere in my contract did it mention a fee for changing drop-off locations and and when I specifically asked the people at the pick-up location about this they did not mention it either. The representative on the rental phone line was also not able to provide information on how the fees were calculated and stated that "no one knew what the fees would be until the drop-off location checked it in", and for after-hours drop off I wouldn't know the amount until Monday morning. This entire situation was very frustrating and misleading and caused us to change plans at the last minute to something much more inconvenient. Had I known about the fees upfront I could have better worked out the issue.
