Glenn MThis is not a complaint about this location more so a complaint about Uhaul as a company. If it weren't for the owner of this business tracking down my truck then I wouldn't have had a uhaul that day. My uhaul wasn't available until 4 hours after my pick-up time. The customer then dropped off my uhaul 20 miles further than the original located. Instead of being able to walk next door to pick up my uhaul, I had to take a 50 dollar Uber to pick it up. This has been the worst experience. I will not be renting through Uhaul again.
Stewart HI always feel like I'm charged for gas even when I put extra in… I don't get it.. i purposely overfilled. Some extra $10 charge on top of the $190. the guys were amazing tho.. really helpful and accommodating.. so I won't fuss much

STEPHANIE WVehicles were parked so close together that I was unable to pull out of the lot. This happened at two different locations - both times (I rented two trucks in the past month). The November 4th truck had high mileage and sounded as if it would break down at any moment. The most frustrating part was dealing with customer service.

JOHN SI was quoted around $40 online for an 8 hour rental for a van. I ended up paying over $100. They added a bunch of fees I didn't agree to and added an insurance package I didn't need. I only drove the van a total of 2,5 miles. This is ridiculous.
CAMERON LTrailer was not well maintained. Something was going on with rear passenger axle sending vibration through entire truck while it was empty. Had to drive 6 hours one way empty on a Sunday to pick car up. Trailer done better while loaded but still felt vibration at certain speeds

ANJULI HAppreciate all the helpfulness of the staff at this location. I usually went to your locations at 387 Swananoa River Road. I am amazed and saddened by the loss of that facility. The level of destruction there by Hurricane Helene and the historical flooding is just unbelievable. It was the busiest location in Asheville!

Blanche KI have towed a bunch of times before, but never with this specific type of trailer. The folks at Allens Gulf were unwilling to help until I annoyed them enough. The owner (I assume) had a superiority attitude, which is a polite way of saying what I really think. All I wanted was for them to give me a couple minutes to make sure I was doing things properly and safely. They said they don't want to be responsible for anything that happens, and that's why they didn't want to help. If that's U-Haul's policy then that's B.S. I look at as they are responsible for the safety of the equipment, and that includes verifying things are hooked up properly.

The issue was we were told that if we turned the truck rental in earlier that the 4 days of the contract that we would receive a refund for the unused days. I wanted to update that we did indeed received a refund for the unused portion of days, but not without escalation on our part. Just want to say Thank you for the refund U haul.
TERENCE PI was rented the worst of the 2 vans available to rent at this location. It had numerous damage areas on and around, inside and especially outside the van. The van was dirty and exceedingly covered with dog hair. I asked to rent the other van which was in better shape, clean, and undamaged. The gentleman said it was already rented for 5 days. He did however bring out a moving blanket to cover the seat to try to stop my itching. It did help. When I returned the dirty, dog hair covered van the next day, the cleaner van was still sitting there, in the same parking spot. I could have used that van and returned it before the other person showed to pick it up. If this move was not something that had to be done this weekend, I would have taken him up on his offer of a refund and looked elsewhere. U-Haul is usually pretty good at renting good equipment. You are always my go-to for rental equipment. This experience however has lowered my appreciation for your value to the customer. I will try in the future not to rent from this location for these reasons, and I hope to never have this experience again.
MARLON BWe returned the truck in the same condition we got it. There was sticky stuff in the bed of the 10 foot truck. We moved furniture and clothing. It got on our stuff. Told the guy at the uhaul place in Weaverville about it, and he said it was fine, that we wouldn't be charged a cleaning fee. We got charged an extra 25 for it anyways, and an extra 9 fee for gas. It was on 7/8, I put the gas back over 3/4... I was really over charged. Not what I was quoted. I reserved for two days, and at first told no, then he finally changed his mind, and said we could. I've had better uhaul experiences.

WILLIAM RThe staff was great. I was in and out very quickly. I do caution that this is a very small gas station and space is limited. If you have a large unit, that could be an issue. Otherwise, no problems.

JEREMY SI didn't check the mileage when I got into the truck as I was in a rush at 4pm pick up. My old house is 3 miles away and the new apartment is less than a mile away that why I rented from Allen. But when I returned it they said I traveled 75 miles that is impossible as I didn't even fill up gas. Also the seal on the driver side fell off when I drove. Worst experience I ever had.
Wai DDisappointing that U-haul does not offer a military discount. Told something has to be uploaded which no other companies ever require. I have an military ID and vet status on driver licensee

DARRON FThe trailer came off the hitch around the end of the trip. Luckily the chains kept the trailer from destroying itself. It appeared that the locking cup had been backing off the entire trip.
