I rented from Al’s Mart in San Marcos tx. The store had one employee, a small framed you g lady. She struggled with the iPad to get information from Uhaul. Once that was clear half an hour later I rented a 6’x12’ cargo. She no idea how to hook up the unit to my truck, she could not even help me lift the tongue and I could not do it by myself. She had to ask a guy from a nearby food truck to come and help. I did the hook up. But isn’t that a liability issue for Uhaul. Al’s Mart should not put a girl in harms way likeminded that had she tried and hurt her back I doubt Als Mart had good insurance. I will not return to Al’s and blow up face book about my experience.

Never to customer down when dropping off Uhaul truck and always have your truck that was reserved ready to go at the time customer needs to pick up. Get rid of dealers who talk bad about the product they are renting and get rid of managers of locations who are not willing to go the extra mile for customer. The Gonzales, Texas location would be my first to drop, bad for business. I like a adjustment on my bill for all the mental stress of this nightmare experience. I could write you a book of all that was said and done, don't have time!! Not to mention the mover help section, that also was ridiculous, the owner calls me at midnight to follow up on my request and was just unprofessional. Dealing with this as well, My wife and I did it ourselves and not pleased with this side of it as well. That's Another story by it's self.

Where I first booked my rental on the 19th, that man was helpful. When I went to pick up on the 20th, that man was an idiot. I think I interrupted his computer time. He said we didn't have a truck for us. I said we just reserved on right before closing the night before. He sent us to another store saying they had one. We went to that store and that guy said he didn't have one, but he also explained that since we didn't pick it up at 8 .m. our reservation got canceled. He then rerouted us to a 3rd place, and we finally got one. The man working on the 20th at the original place would've been fired immediately were he my employee. He doesn't represent Uhaul at all. The other 3 men were fantastic.

The customer service representative did not seem to know how to enter the information into the tablet. They took my driver's license for about three time within the transaction, and my credit card was treated the same way. They took a picture of both documents which scared me and my daughter. Who does this? They give me their cell number and then let me drive without any paperwork from U-Hual. I recommend that you give these representatives more training. I would recommend this location if they get more training.

It was like going through hell to rent this truck the people were not organized and they were hard to talk to they were like from another country not speaking very clear and very fast. The corporate office help me change my time from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. that's the only professional help I got.

I am quite upset with my experience from Uhaul. I rented the truck to move myself to Austin hoping to drop the truck off there. Then I find out AFTER I moved that I can ONLY return it in San Marcos where I rented it which added 30 extra miles I DIDNT want to drive to th speedometer and my total ended up being over $80 FOR A SIMPLE ONE WAY MOVE. I will not be recommending Uhaul or ever using it again myself.

When you fill up the gas tank to travel, be prepared to pay more for a gas fee when you drop off the truck.
