This was the third time I've renting U-haul from this location. The staff was pleasant and professional at all times. My experience was a good one.

Price! Price! Price!!! $1,5/mile? Really? I absolutely would not recommend something like this to a friend. The people who rented the Uhaul were really friendly so I don't have an issue with the workers just your price for a product in an underserved community.

You're unable to get onto the lot after hours so you have to park on the street. Which, wouldn't be a problem if the customers were made aware of this beforehand and not when they've already pulled to the gate. The street is narrow so backing away from the gate is tricky and the street is also crowded so finding parking for a large truck could - potentially - also be tricky. Furthermore, there is no drop box for the keys and no instructions on the premises on what to do with them. I had to leave the keys in the glovebox and lock the doors; which is the opposite of what the u-haul website tells you to do.

I rented a truck a this location on 7/30/22. Pick-up the truck a 9:40am Chicago time dropped it back off at 2:11pm the same day. The uhaul people at this location told me I drove the truck 236 mile. I have proof that I drove the truck less than 20 miles. This site is a rip off. I will never use uhaul again.

I was having trouble with .my phone uploading my license, the attendant was so busy watching TV that it was 20 minutes before she finally stopped watching to help resolve issue.

Susan at American Self Storage located at 5509 S. Oakley Avenue in Chicago provided OUTSTANDING customer service! She kept me updated on truck availability, and was very considerate of my needs. I will use this site when I need to rent a truck from U-Haul again! Susan is the BEST!

the site had no night drop so i left the truck and was then going to have my daughter drop off keys next day as i was on early am flight. guess they made a key for truck. i hope they don't charge me since i dropped it a day early and my daughter hadnt gotten there yet. tough neighborhood with no night drop and nothing on web site that informed me of that.---dumb--jb

I have been to several rental places in Chicago! This rental facility is the best by far!! Susan and Jaime very professional and courteous!! This means a lot to me. I personally believe quality service is key to a great business! You have a satisfied customer!!! You all are the best!!!

I requested an appliance dolly and was not informed that there would not be one on the truck. Also I requested 12 furniture pads and only 2 were on the truck. I was charged for an appliance dolly and 12 furniture pads even though I stated this in my return on the app. Please listen to what your customers request and give proper notice or notice for that matter that said request can't be accommodated.

Don't make appointments available for time of opening if truck isn't ready. Me waiting for my truck took time from my rental and delayed my move. Also I was instructed that the truck door would get stuck and to kick it to get it open

Your website switched me to this location. When I called up customer service, after they bothered to get to me, they couldn't get me another truck anywhere, and wouldn't compensate me for the lost time or the two cab rides. I'm never spending another dime on your services, movers may charge an arm and a leg but they don't jerk me around and then leave other people holding the bag to apologize for how much corporate sucks.

Im wondering why I never got any discount coupons for the multiple rentals in the past few weeks of rentals of your trucks. I rented 5 trucks from your company in the last few weeks for myself and family and friends...

Keeping in mind that moving is never easy, I can say that this was truthfully one of the worst experiences of my life. It is disappointing to think of all of the people that rely on the Uhaul services, and know that there are absolutely 0 safeguards in place for when things go wrong. I am not sure that Uhaul understands/appreciates the impact of not having the truck on hand that your customers book months in advance. It is even more frustrating knowing that I had to bring it to your attention as opposed to being notified of the truck not being available. There aren't many other affordable options to rent trucks, but I can honestly say that I would be willing to pay a significant premium to not have to use your services in the future.

have the truck ready at the location that I made the reservation so that I don't have to pay an additional $24 in mileage charges to the new location as well as an additional hour and a half labor charges to the 3 men that I hired to work out of the original location....and didn't get the measly $50 credit on my visa yet......aggravating

The personnel at this facility was friendly and helpful. I was able to get my truck and storage unit at the same facility. No waiting, no running around. Everything was right there. Clean and well lit. I was scheduled to pick up truck and move into one of their storage4 units on 6.10.16, which I might add was a pretty warm day. While unloading my truck, I was offered ICED COLD water. Who does that these days??? KUDOS to the manager. I don't normally do reviews, but I was pleased with this facility and once I looked at the storage unit I planned to purchase, which was a little to small for my needs, I was upgraded to a larger unit for a few dollars more only because there was a beam in the middle of the unit. Not a problem, why not take it and use the beam to your advantage, which I did. so, in closing I will say I was VERY pleased and have no problem recommending them to friends and family. JW

I am very upset about my experience there, I have used this prepaid card at uhaul before my total was 84,12 and my card was charged 97.74, when returning the equipment I was charged 93,74 plus my additional mileage which the extra for mileage was correct, I only keep 105 on this card for small useage like this, my card was charged twice the wrong amount which the third time made my card decline and no I was just charged a 39 late fee this is unacceptable and I need this matter corrected immediately. But I must say the staff was friendly but the aggravating situtation takes from it and then I get a letter with my name on it saying I agree to the late fee no I dont. Tracey love 7733021770

I have noticed that on my bank statement that I was charged the estimated amount and not the actual amount. From this fact, I can not whether this has been a completely satisfactory.
