The truck was fairly new but there is something wrong in the steering. I had to keep the steering wheel at about 11 o'clock to go straight and the truck would all of a sudden want to dart to the left or right making it difficult to keep it in the lane. This issue created real safety concerns during my drive. Especially, when around other vehicles when the truck would want to shoot off to one side or the other and I had to fight to keep it in my lane. This made the vehicles around me very nervous. I could see them moving away from the truck quickly to avoid a possible collision. I explained the issue to the person at the drop off but he did not give any response or seemed concerned. The drop off was at International Food Mart, not an actual U-Haul location. It appears that there is not an actual U-Haul facility nearby.

As someone venturing on my own at a young age, I decided to try using a 19,99$ Cargo Van for the first time to move some furniture. The rentals are contracted from inside of a busy gas station. I let the 2 men at the front who were renting me the van that I was new to the process and was curious about the fine print. Even so, it wasn't made clear to me that the U-Haul was a one-way in-town rental. (I assumed I could drop it off at a location 30 minutes away once I finished moving my couch) -I also never physically checked out the van until I had signed the contract agreeing to the mileage fees and rules. The entire transaction was very rushed, neither of them had the same first language as me, and I was asked to step aside several times during the transaction so that they could assist other customers. As soon as I walk outside, I get the confirmation text with my drop-off location assigned there and I see on the van “one-way in-town†â€" Would have been nice to know, because after a long day of dealing with Uhaul customer service I realized that dropping it off at a location 30 minutes away would cost me a $350 ‘wrong destination' fee. I made other arrangements to get the Uhaul back, and subsequently those arrangements led to some pretty big hassle in my day. Also, the 19,99$ fee will turn into $75 very quickly. The positive thing for me was that the Uhaul served its purposeâ€" however I don't like the fact that my drop off location and other details were not made clear to me beforehand, knowing that could have saved me a headache.

Drink holder was broken. Make sure you take pictures of prior damages to protect yourself. Truck drove like a big truck, not a van as advertised. Brakes were squeaky and felt like they weren't very reliable.

I had a reservation for the Valrico location on Hwy 60, but when I arrived there was no trailer there. I am supposed to be getting $50 dollar, but I have no received any information on how that is supposed to be happening. I had to travel over 20 miles to get a trailer.

Van was filthy! Tons of dog hair was on both seats and floor. Windshield was dirty with dead bugs (tried to clean with wipers but didn't help). If I wasn't in such a time crunch I would've swapped vehicles. Checking in and out was easy and quick.
