It would be much better if the vehicles were full and you didn't have to pay the guessing game with the teeny teeny tiny writing on that chart on the dash. Also, I had no idea that a text would be coming to me before I left the parking lot and there were two dings in the truck that we rented and I could not get the photo to successfully upload.

Sending a message outlining how to drop off and where would be really handy. Some parking lots are multi use and it's not immediately apparent where my truck might need to go.
James PAt the time of pick-up, the U-Haul app was not working and wouldn't let me log in and start my rental. I went into Aubuchon (Skyway Center, Plattsburgh) and the staff was friendly and helpful. They even helped me change the size of the rental truck on-the-spot! I was really thankful because it was the size I really wanted but the app said it wasn't available. The vehicle was clean and well cared-for. When my rental was finished, I worked with the Aubuchon staff again for drop-off and again they were friendly and professional. If I ever need another U-Haul, I will definitely get one from Aubuchon!

Sandra PThe customer service was good. Employee that helped was nice and friendly, answered all questions we had. The equipment was gross. It stunk of weed, was filthy on the inside and outside. The cab was dirty and hadn't been wiped clean in a hot minute and the driver side interior step was broken.
Dylan SWe had one problem after another with UHaul. It began with scheduling whereby nobody could tell us whether trucks would be available or where we could pick them up until 48 hours before. Then, 48 hours before I called to find out where I would be picking up trucks, and I was told that trucks were not available. Finally, after calling some local places, we found two trucks. I confirmed that I could pick them up on Saturday at 8am. However, when I arrived Saturday morning, the trucks had not been "set up for sharing," and the business was not open. So, even though I had arranged for family and friends to help us, we had no options. We had to reschedule for the following day whereby we had to drive an hour to pick up the trucks and then an hour back before we even began loading. When we signed out the trucks, we had questions about pricing which the clerk was unable to answer. He asked where we wanted to drop off the trucks and we picked the location on his computer screen that was closest to our move, yet we later discovered that the location was incorrect on the screen. We tried to return the trucks to the closer location, but because it was 5:30, nothing was open. We ended up having to drive further away to return both trucks. We tried to use the online page and the app to "return" the trucks but it wasn't able to use the geo tracking to confirm that we were at the appropriate drop off location. Meanwhile, anytime I had questions, I went in circles being transferred to various people. On the following day, a UHaul employee called me to discuss the bill, and when I asked the question regarding the pricing of the trucks, "Larissa" was incredibly unhelpful and rude, telling me that I was yelling while she shouted in my ear. She ended up hanging up on me when I asked to speak to someone else. Overall, my experience was absolutely abysmal. The fact that I dealt with central scheduling who couldn't do anything physical and then the local people who didn't understand the computer applications made this whole process very difficult. Will NOT recommmend or use again.

I felt this was a bait and switch that your company doesn't usually do. Is there compensation for our time?
Scot BThe box part of the truck was absolutely filthy. It was so dirty that my belongings got dirty putting them in there. It was unfortunate that I had packed all of my cleaning supplies because this truck should have never been given to a customer in this condition. Even the cab part of the truck smelled so bad that we bought car freshener trees from the gas station. Not good!

Vinay KIt's winter , you know you are renting a vehicle out , clean the snow off , make sure the inside is clean from the last rental , clean the windshield, check for damage and explain all previous damage so the customer knows that you know what was damaged before the vehicle leaves the lot. Check all the fluids and make sure the gas tank is fairly full which ours was ! Merci

Sean BThe woman who helped me was amazing. I showed up and realized the truck I had reserved was too small. She was able to switch it out for a bigger one, tell us that the rental could be fore 24 hours and not just the eight the store was open and even managed to find a deal that got us the dolly and moving pads for less than we had anticipated. She was friendly, helpful and extremely patient when I had to call in my brother to come drive the larger truck. I wish I knew her name so I could praise her personally. I checked NA for the cleanliness because she wasn't expecting to have that truck go out that day. Even so, it was fine. Just a little dirt on the floor from feet in and out on it's last trip. Will absolutely recommend them.

Leigh KThere was a toothpick and small trash in the center cup holder, which I didn't see until after I took my phone out of it. Everything else was great, that was just gross, an easy thing to overlook given the angle. A previous renter's paperwork was also still stashed in the visor.

SUSANJ BBe careful booking online. Chose a 10' truck online, but I didn't notice until after check out that it changed my request to a15' truck. Cost us an extra $10/day.

Marshall BThe people helping us in the store were very kind, helpful, and professional. There did end up being a little bit of garbage left in the back of the truck from prior movers. The biggest problem I had was ordering through the website and I was expecting to be able to pick up the truck by mobile pick up the night before, to find out almost 2 hours later trying to figure out how to do mobile pickup, that location doesn't have mobile pick up available. Thankfully, the woman on the phone helped us cancel that reservation and schedule for an in store pickup the next morning. Maybe listing the locations as no mobile pick up available would be extremely helpful.

The truck/rental was not suitable for the winter roads in Upstate New York and they were very kind to work with us upon returning the rental to see if they could help in any way. The equipment was not well maintained because it needs better tires for the weather up here.

Larry LWe had made reservations for a 26' truck at another location (Trim-a-lawn) for Friday 11/11. That location (Trim-a-lawn) decided to be closed on that day, making it impossible to meet the requested rental; they were also never open when I stopped in to inquire about the rental. Very poor customer service at Trim-a-lawn. On the other hand, Aubuchon Hardware was very friendly, very helpful customer service, good hours, all around very good!
Jose dI have been over charged by aubachon hardware. They say I drove almost 300 miles. IMPOSSIBLE. Hardly drove. Some days truck sat in driveway. If I drove 100 miles total...that would be a high quote. I'm not paying for all those miles.

I had already gotten a contract for both units from a third dealer in Plattsburgh but was notified it had to change non ability to contact third dealer to verify equipment availability.
