Despite having only 22 000 km on the odometer, the front rotors surprisingly warped causing the steering wheel to shake when the brakes are applied. When do these vehicles get serviced?Richard T.

Get a better customer service call center It took off very 3hrs toget through to the road side service. I lost 1/2 a day of moving. Had to get a ride home to sign in to get a tow truck. Tried to call rental location and got a message. By the time they picked up truck it was 4hrs after break down. Now you want me to pay more because of milage but couldn't finish move. I should be getting a refund.david L.
I needed to rent a cargo van to transport chairs and other items for an Event. Everything went quickly and smoothly, from pickup to drop-off. The van was in great condition, reliable and stress-free for an already hectic and busy day. ZERO issues! Will definitely be renting from here again â¤ï¸Lucie C.

TL;DR: #uhaul is overcharging me and I cannot do anything about because I didn't take a simple step to prevent it So I don't ever do this but I am gonna go on a rant about a business that is currently trying to screw me over. My roommate and I were moving at the beginning of this month, naturally we went to #uhaul to rent a truck. First off I was passed around not given a committed reservation, let alone for the size I wanted, in person. They said said they would call me the next day if they had any trucks to give me, and would only allow me to keep it for more than 24 hours. Not having another option I accepted. The next day I was offered the truck I wanted at this location, sweat. The day after that I was told the truck was no longer there but at a UHaul affiliate only 2min away. Ok, that's alright. Then, 24 hours before the move I'm told the truck is no longer at the 2nd location but is now in Carlton Place. 50km away, Outside of Ottawa City Limits. Not good, but it's not like I have a choice at this point. So I schlep all the way out to Carlton Place, get the truck, bring it into Ottawa, do the the move, bust our backs to get it all done within the 24hr, then drive all the way back 60km. All told I drove the truck for 134km, 110km of which was just to accommodate them. Now if that was all there was I would have paid my bill happily. For a week I heard nothing from them, so I assumed my deposit covered everything. At 9pm Friday night I receive a call from the Carlton Place affiliate saying I owed >300 $on my bill. I called back asking why this was and they said my mileage was over 380km. Absolutely horrendous. Here is where I went wrong, even though I thought about it I didn't take any pictures. I was so preoccupied with moving and having the ordeal over with I didn't do my due diligence. After trying to take this up with #uhaul customer service (an absolutely terrible experience all on its own), the best they could offer me was a 25 $certificate for my next rental. Like I would ever rent from them again. I don't know if this was a simple mistake or not, but the entire ordeal has soured my view on #uhaul Even if I tacitly agreed to everything else I still don't think it's fair, and with the milage issue I just feel like they're trying to squeeze us for every dime they can get. Without pictures of the odometer I'm SOL apparently, lesson learned ðŸ™„Peter S.
Have a better system for timing of rental and hours of operation of outlet so that extra charges don't happen, also more information on your email to return the key and using the link. Also shouldn't all be dependent on emails, charges are not clearly explained either, not very happy with that as I was doubled charged and the refund I received didn't make sense at all it wasn't explained. Your pricing needs to be clearer!Peter D.

I was originally supposed to go to the U-Haul at the Fairview Inn in Cornwall. That place is absolutely terrible, and anyone going there to pickup a U-Haul truck is risking disaster due to the incompetent owners. They never pickup the phone (go ahead, try to call them), it's run by a teenager who doesn't care and neither do the parents. I would urge U-Haul to disassociate themselves with that location - just check all the other reviews that say the same thing. You are losing business and goodwill with the Fairview Inn. The Baitcasters location in Carleton Place is great, and the owner is fantastic and very helpful.Gueorgui M.

Before I say anything, I want to thank Michelle at the location at Baitcasters in Carleton Place. She was vital to the success story today! If she hadn't been there, things could have been really challenging. I had many issues with fixing access to my account and was worried about not having access to the key box at 6:30am because of all the issues I had the night before. Sure enough, I could not get a lock box code generated to my email address and we had no idea what to do. Michelle rescued us!! We got our boxes to the airport on time!Mary G.

I went to this one, after being sent to 9 lanark road- Brad McNamee and found no trucks and no one in the office. Had to reserve a new truck and thankfully this one was open. Really delayed our moving day, I was disappointed with that.Shelby-Anne M.

The vehicle itself was an American vehicle (Arizona plates). Odometer and speedometer were in miles with difficult to read kilometers section. It would be nice if there was a table or sticker in the vehicle which indicated gas tank size. i.e. 1/4 tank is 25 liters for customer convenience when refueling.Michael B.

I ordered a 6 x 12 trailer with ramp. The online reservation stated that if my equipment wasn't available I would be notified. I wasn't notified even though I received my confirmation email and did online check in. When I showed up to pick up the trailer I was told it wasn't available and that I would have to go almost an hour out of my way to get it. I couldn't reach anyone on the phone and the store where I picked it up wasn't empathetic or helpful at first. Eventually they found a solution for me but I felt like a problem not a customer they wanted to help. It was an awful experience.Tony S.

OK, first of all I rented for 3 days and was expected to return by 1 pm on Monday - due to delays I extended to 3 pm. Was informed the unit was not rented and did not have return until 3pm. I was late and by then unit was rented. Issues with charges: 1) 3 day charge is OK 2) Extension was OK but charge for a FULL DAY rental even though I did not keep for the full day but returned at 5:45 on Monday (5/10/21) 3) I would have lived with the full day charge since I was a few hours late, but then I was hit with another full day penalty because I was late. I was not aware of this charge and do not agree with this practice. 4) I have an issue with the late charge and would like someone to call me as I can not get into your call center. Can not sit 30 -40 minutes to have some possibly answer the phone. CAN SOME PLEASE CALL ME 1-613-878-8701 oh yea, please correct spelling of my last name in the system. and I can not have not password reset as I do not get any response for you support center. The vehicle was ready to go and clean. It was perfect for the job we needed to do that day. The only comment I have is that the driver's side windshield wiper needs to be replaced. The wiper blade has come loose from the wiper arm on one side and at times the wiper blade flips off the arm on that side and becomes ineffective. I had meant to mention it to the franchise operator, but I forgot.Abraham B.

I had scheduled my pickup outside of regular hours (8:30am) because I had the elevator in my building booked from 9am-12pm. The truck was not returned on time so my reservation was pushed to 10am. This left me with only an hour to move before my elevator reservation ended. The check in process was complicated and the website is terrible.Kevin A.
I was very pleased with the service at Bait Casters. The agent was impressively professional, competent and polite. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The 10" Cargo Van was clean inside. It had a U.S. licence plate on the back - the speedometer was in miles and kms, but the miles were prominent on the display, making it difficult to see the kms to adjust speed. Also, the van did not have a rear-end ramp which I guess is standard for that size. It would have been helpful to know that during the reservation process. However because of the service I received, I would recommend this location to my friends for truck or trailer rental.Ron D.
How come you need credit card to rent a 9 ft cargo van, but a big truck you only need debit card.This doesn't even sound right.Frank L.
The cab says it seats 3 people but the centre seat belt was broken. The tow/haul feature came on every time we started the truck and we had to remember to switch it off every time. I refilled the gas tank to be 3/4 full as it was when I got the truck but I got a fuel charge because there was no way for me to know by the gage that it was actually at 5/8 it looked like I had put enough fuel in and that makes me feel like I am being ripped off. The only positive comment I have is that the truck was clean.Karen M.

Check out was very slow .... not the attendant's fault. The process is very clumsy. Very nice lady but clumsy. We should be able to drop the keys and leave and all of the checks can be done later when they have time.Robert G.

Bait Casters are great as far of their hours, being helpful, and friendliness but their yard is an accident waiting to happen in the winter in that it's all ice and sloped towards the store. They need to put down some grit, gravel, or spread some sand to stop a customer from falling and/or a vehicle and trailer sliding in to other vehicles or the store. As for the equipment, the ratchets on the tie-down straps on the front of the car transport I rented were corroded and I had issues to even get them to start moving to use them. Unfortunately where I picked up the car I didn't have any penetrating oil to spray them down with which would have got them moving more easily again.Grant H.

This is not a shot at the location but the UHAUL service. Its a shame that every time, EVERY TIME, I or someone I know books Uhaul there is something wrong with pickup. EVERYTIME. There are two guarantees in life, you will die and uhaul will mess up your booking. I booked this Uhaul over a month out from pickup date. Two days before I am told that I cannot get a truck until 4pm on the Saturday. I need it at 7am when the movers are booked for! Now I have to go to Carleton place on a Friday night to get it. Yes I was given extra kms and days to do this, but how do you not have proper inventory management to know this more in advance. I wouldnt complain if this was the only time, but this happens ALL THE TIME. Please get a better booking system without adding extra stress to an already stressful situation.Michael O.

Was supposed to pick up at 9am but there was a tire problem that was not fixed until 10:30. When I checked for cleanliness I did not notice that the inside of the overhead door was covered with grease and oil that marked some of our furniture. You need to do a better job of maintenance and cleaning.Gregory B.

I can not for the life of me see how the price to rent a van shows the store 1100 ish for the month . the go rent and its over 1 500 $with over 4000 miles / kms but I only used less than half the mileage and still got stung for over 1 500 $and I supplied my insurance's. now April was a delight to work with in every way great service thanks AprilRobert P.

truck had many defects - 3 times over 24 hours I had trouble putting it into gear. There is something wrong with the transmission. The radio didn't work which is no big deal. The real issue was the wiper and windshield wash didn't work. We ran into rain on the way home to Pembroke and it was very dangerous as wipers refused to work. I mentioned it to the lady when I dropped of the truck. She came back and said she managed to get the wipers to work. I'm just glad we didn't get into an accident.JOHN P.
