We were given blankets, which we didn't use and the packages were left sealed, but we had to pay for them anyway. AFTER the fact we were told they were rented-they were brand new in the package. We asked to use a different credit card and the man ran the wrong card anyway. He wanted us to back the truck into the parking spot when finished. I have never been so disappointed in my rental experience before. We were not happy.Michael C.

Worat experience ever. Young woman took forever to complete paperwork and hookup. Upon my return, young man would not help. Told me it would be a $20 charge to unhook the trailer. I am 76 years old, have had both shoulders replaced, and a sore back from moving 100lb. toilet boxes all morning. I did the unhook without help in the heat.BRIAN E.

It was very inconvenient to drive the 45 mins/40 miles each way to pick up the trailer. I understand your policy, but I wasted a good $50 in gas that I didn't plan on. I would like to be reimbursed for that gas amount.Mikaela W.
There was tons of trash in the back of the truck I rent for a couple days as well as seed all over the front seat and passenger floor when I returned the truck I'd swept the back of the truck out but left the seed in the front seat floor and was told I need to sweep them out or I would be charged extra. Erika charged us a $9 because she claimed we did not fill up the truck. We only went 10 miles and put over a gallon in. She was very unprofessional and lacked judgement. Was yelling at my husband. It was so dumb. We will never rent from Uhaul again. I will be calling the 800 number to complain about this entire issue. Your staff needs to be trained in this stuff. Sadly all over $9 measly dollars. She could have just saw the receipt and let it go instead she chose to argue with my husband about how we didn't fill up. We showed the receipt and again was told it wasn't enough. We went 10 miles. We added over a gallon. Your trucks get about 12 miles to the gallon. It should have been plenty. So, her unprofessionalism caused so many problems for us that day, and sadly if could have been avoided. She was rude and yelled at me and my husband. I will never go to that location or rent from uhaul again. Sadly, this could have all been avoided if she had listened to us and looked at our receipt. But she argued with us for over 10 minutes. The lady that helped me was nice. The first truck they gave me died in the parking lot. The second one didn't have a catalytic converter. Finally the 3rd truck managed to work. When I called about this experience, I was promised a call back or email and neither came. There was no follow up. Based on this experience, I'd be reluctant to use Uhaul again.Anthony R.

Truck has some major issues. Intermittent but was getting worse and more often , the more it was driven. Possible transmission issues from the way it was acting. When reporting issues to storeâ€¦ didn't seem too bothered by it. And of course there was no kind of credit or reimbursement due to the troubles we had to deal with. Left feeling annoyed and frustrated with an overall bad experienceLeah M.
The Shell station employees working there were really helpful and this review doesn't reflect on them. The location in general had a lot of homeless/drug-addict individuals roaming around which made the place look unsafe. The uhaul truck I rented was in good condition, but it smelled like cigarettes in the cabin. I wouldn't recommend the location simply because of the people roaming in and out of the building.Noah E.

My rental was originally with Advantage Storage Moon Valley in Phoenix. They were horrible. They were supposed to be open when I got there at 10am. But the door was locked and nobody was to be seen. After waiting 15mins I called U-Haul. They tried calling the property and for ahold of the property manager who said there is someone there and probably walking the store. They said it should be 15 mins or so. By then I had been waiting for 25 mins. The lady at U-Haul offered to transfer my reservation to another location which I accepted. The lady at the 315 W Bell Rd location was fantastic and got us on our way quickly.stuart C.

First- my reservation was for 6pm and I scheduled mobile pickup. They didn't set it up correctly so I couldn't do mobile pickup and was waiting in the cold for 10 minutes until someone came back to the gas station. Further on my mobile pickup I did not select insurance because I did not want to pay for it but when he checked me in on his computer he apparently did check it. The customer representatives didn't seem to know how to manage the U-Haul components (computer systems, explanations of packages and processes), were extremely slow, and were unresponsive in any reasonable way when I made a report on the vehicle. I was charged for 2 days, without understanding the change until it was time to pay. The representative took an excessive amount of time when turning the vehicle in, and although I can appreciate the vulgarity during the transaction, it's not a professional approach to swear and make snide remarks about the cost being much higher than it was. It was already much higher than anticipated.Anthony R.
The female clerk did not fully explain the gas situation. The truck I rented has LESS than a quarter tank of gas in it. I was told I could return it with the same amount if gas and when I did, she made me put more gas in it to bring it to a quarter tank. I consider this a bait and switch tactic to get customers to fill the gas tanks! Her accent was so heavy, it was hard to understand her ans she clearly used this other her advantage. We were greeted at pick up by being told we were 20 minutes late. This truck was heavily damaged. The entire side was torn out and sunlight could be seen along several feet of the side wall. It rained all day and the truck wasn't water tight. We turned in the vehicle early but we're charged for 2 days. We came back before the place closes at 9pm and they closed early, then charged us double. The app did not work for pickup or drop off. I get to spend more time on the phone trying to get a refund because Uhaul doesn't have their act together. Just a huge thrash.Rustan S.

When I picked up the van I rented, it was dirty and full of animal hair and smells like animals. Seems like the van was used to transferred goats. I told the clerk about the van being dirty and he tried to have it cleaned, but unfortunately, it didn't passed my expectations. So I went back in and told the clerk that it's still not clean, so I asked to just give me a credit discount. The clerk (Manuel) was very accommodating and nice enough and said he will give me $20- $30 credit discount he just have to talk to his manager to get it approved. Upon returning the van, I asked for the credit discount, but i didn't get the discount. I just wish that they checked and made sure the equipment is cleaned and ready for the next customer before they rented it out.Eva G.

I went to location to pick up vehicle. Went online through my computer to fill out and submit all express documents. When I go there, the lady at the location could not give me the vehicle because it was set up as a 24 hour rental. I DID NOT REQUEST A 24 HOUR RENTAL. She could not help me. I called UHaul 24 hour customer service to get assistance. The first two reps were of no help whatsoever. The third rep put me on hold for 10 minutes beforre handing me off to someone who could help me. Once I got the combination code to the lockbox to get the key I could not get it open. Even the lady at the location could not get it open. By this time, I was already 45 minutes late for my appointment. This should not have taken so long. It was an excruciating experience. I do not plan to do a UHaul rental this way ever again.Eric L.

O am a long term uhaul customer who has always been very satisfied. On Friday, the trailer I rented was not correctly secured and detached when I entered the home depot parking lot at 22nd street and bell Rd in phx, immediately after I picked up the trailer. It disconnected from the ball but the chains kept it in tow. It lunged forward denting and putting a hole in my bumper. By the grace of God, your Uhaul employee Heath Hare was present and saw what was wrong. He immediately reconnected the trailer identifying what was wrong. He was an absolute Godsend and a gentleman who represents the best of Uhaul. He even called another facility at cave Creek and the 101 to get me a replacement pigtail. I returned the trailer earlier today and was met by employee Manuel who was horrible in every possible respect. He would not assist with the trailer disconnection and said it wasn't his job. He was not at all interested in helping me. To be clear I am 69 years old turning 70 next month. While I am not frail, it would be expected that the offer to help at a very bare minimum would be expected. Nothing!!!! I asked to speak to a manager and he showed me a name badge for an Erika who was not present. I asked for a phone number to the office. He said he didn't know the phone number. He told me to Google it. I have a damaged vehicle from your equipment. Fortunately it was damage to my bumper and no one or another vehicle were damaged. Bottom line this is the worst possible service after a potentially catastrophic failure. What else can I say, this was not typical of uhaul and in fact terrible in every respect other than Mr Heath Hare who is a superstar.William L.

The price was higher then the quoted price online by almost $25-30 , vehicle check engine light was on throughout the duration of the rental. The AC was blowing intermittently warm back to cold , the over head driver visor was broken and was a safety hazard for the driver , overall price was almost double in comparison to if I would have been able to rent a uhaul from a normal location.Chris R.

I had completed all the proper approvals and checks through the mobile check in and the clerk insisted on not giving me the key until he also checked themâ€"wasted 25 minutes of my reservation time on things that were already completed online.
