The pickup I rented had a stale smell of cigarette smoke in it. The floor was dirty too. I only used it for an hour so it didn't bother me too much. The gentleman in the store was great. I would recommend that the vehicles be cleaned, inspected and ready for pickup. When I picked up my rental the interior of the cab and box were not cleaned. The vehicle was covered in snow and was not provided anything to clear the snow off. The engine light was on and the vehicle ran rough.KENNETH L.

Please make sure your clear to customer the charges I was charged 30 dollars more then quoted online. There was no emergency brake release on truck that I could find. I couldn't find the button for the headlights. In back of truck was dirty.Jennifer S.

Original booking for pick up was in Orillia. I was required to pick up truck in Barrie which cost me additional money for mileage. Uhaul did reduce that rate for mileage slightly but I still had to drive additional in order to pick up and return truck.Jared B.

So, initially the gentleman who helped me was very helpful and nice. I ordered a Pick up with a large dolly. After i took the vehicle I noticed that the dolly was not in the back of the truck. I went back to the shop to pick it up to find that it was CLOSED. There was a note saying "back in 15" at whatever time he put it on the door. I called the number, he said hed be back in 20 min. During that time I saw 4 OTHER CLIENTS attempt to get into the shop but they couldnt cause he locked the doors and left. I called the number he provided several times. The guy TURNED HIS PHONE OFF!! after waiting OVER 30 min, he finally shows up with other people. I told him that hes lost business because he left. His logic was that there were no reservations so there was no need to be in the shop. WORST EXCUSE EVER. I guess he doesnt like business. After i got the dolly I went about my day. Less than 2 hours of use (didnt even need the dolly) I returned the truck to once again find the store CLOSED!?!?! the same note saying back in 15 was on the door. Can you explain to me, whats the point of running a store when you close it at your leisure? In short, I will NEVER go back to that location, and the additional km charges will make me choose another company. I know Home Depot is cheaper AND includes km in the price. I basically could have spend a two thirds less on that option. Which, with the way that shop is run, I will take my business elsewhere.Brian H.
We had an absolutely terrible experience. Not only did our original agent change the location of pickup at the last moment, charge my card to a completely different customer and then refund it, the truck was also INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES. We are absolutely appalled. We have had to check all of our boxes and furniture. This has added a complete extra layer of stress to our moving day - which is already stressful enough. When the truck was returned and we issued our complaints they would only provide a $50 dollar credit.Lorisa G.

Truck was hit a bunch, but expected. Location requires you to check in and drive down the road to the lot. Kind of inconvenient but manageable.Adrian V.
The panel said both rear tires needed air, so I went to add air to tires and realized they did not need air. I was told upon return of vehicle the sensor was broken, but I should have been told before I took the truck. This and also fact the brakes were squeaky made my trip more stressful than it should have been.Kimberlee H.

No issues with customer service. Truck condition was not safe to drive but I did not notice this when I picked it up. Tail lights as well as brake lights were not working. Steering wheel was not straight; When driving straight, steering wheel is tilted to the left as if the truck was making a slight left turn. A/C was also not working. When set to â€œMax A/Câ€ at the coldest temperature, and the fan at max, the air blowing was warm. Weather that day was 31Â° C and cloudy with rain so it made it difficult to keep windows down and not overheat. Overall not a great experience considering I drove close to 350 kms with this truck.Gustavo D.

My 1st pickup location didn't have anyone there and impossible to contact anyone..many people on phones looking for answers..luckily I found a phone number where someone answered and directed me to another pickup location..this one they were very helpful..Mike G.

I'm sooooo angry and will be calling tomorrow , first off we drooped it at Anne street in Barrie not the location you have here and I just saw another charge of 31,64 on my credit card that was done without my knowledge so 169 + 12,93 + 31,64 + 213,57 FOR A TRAILER RENTAL....It bloody would have been cheaper to just rent a 15 foot truck what the hell?????? To improve the experience go with the customer and inspect the vehicle at the time of the return if it is within business hours. That way there are no surprises when the final invoice is received and the customer is reassured that there will be no unexpected charges.John H.
I have felt with the Essa location and never had a problem as they didn't have truck and I end up going to Dunlop location and then ve been there to Dunlop location twice both times was a night mare and I will never again rent a truck from there truck was dirty I did my best to clean it I also took picks of the truck I was in a jam and had no choice to rent the truck ppl are rude there I wish I just waited for the truck from the Essa store truck had problems I also told there it smelt like gas I looked it had gas leaking But I was told from where I rented it it's not it's normal to smell gas and no one want to come show me the truck gave me the keys all the time I've rented trucks trailers they walk you to what you are renting it's sad how rude they are I have a balance of 143,25 plz let me know if I can pay it at a different location like the Essa store or some where on Friday as I will never go back to the location as when I rented the truck I told them I had a budget and wanted to know what it would cost me yes my fault i did t look at the mill age on the truck but there's no way I put that much mileage on but it's my own fault for not looking at the mileage plz let me know if I can pay the balance at Essa store Friday when I go to rent a trailer thank you that's on the 19 of august thank you my phone number is 7057171062BRIAN G.

The people at this location charged me $150 for a dolly that they claim was missing. I know for certain that it was returned in the truck. Everyone who helped me move that day can corroborate that it was in the truck. I am currently trying to work it out with uhaul but after a week of emails back and forth and being treated like a liar and a thief I am fed up. They now want to add an additional $30 to my bill as a late payment charge. Not only would I not recommend this location, but I would not recommend uhaul at all to anyone. You think you will save money but when you add in the price of extortion, it's not worth it.Steven U.
