When I arrived, I was told the vehicle I had reserved had not been returned. I was not offered anything other than to rent another more expensive truck. The cashier showed no concern whatsoever, even laughing at the situation. I rented this truck to pick something up from a client and drive it to another city. This vehicle issues 1. Head lights needs to be adjusted see the road further, head lamps not giving light on the Road. 2. Key is not inserting fully and starting the vehicle is very complicatedSunil K.

The truck was not clean. Left over drinks, paper, garbage. Pull down door of truck didn't work. Told UHaul rep. He said it is fine. Hurt my back trying to get it down. Only took the truck because I had no other options. Was told my mileage charge was under 1,00 $, got charged 1,08 $. Was charged for more miles that I used. Was charged for furniture dolly. It serves the purpose as a convenient place to pick up and drop off a vehicle. As long as you go in knowing this is a not a UHaul center - it's a convenience store catering mainly to work crews. It looks like they do check cashing and money transfers also. The one guy working there had to work me in with his store customers, but he did so while being friendly and efficient. Passenger door would not latch completely closed. Truch had many miles and loose steering causing it to wonder going down the road. When I returned the truck the clerk just took the key and did not offer a receipt, said I would be getting an email which did not come until the next day.THOMAS K.

The original location I had reserved a truck at was closed when I arrived to pick it up (the web site said they would be open) so I had to make a last minute rental at the Cavalier location. They had a truck available, it took about ten minutes to get it rented, it was clean, it took two minutes to turn it back in, and I was charged properly. No complaints here.Brice M.
Took the worker 40 minutes to find keys, which were hanging right behind him. He initially said he didn't have a truck, despite our reservation. He ended up cancelling our reservation and them inputted a new one. I had to repeat names and phone numbers probably ten times.Ross W.
I wanted a printed receipt because of the multiple overcharge reviews they have. The man said he could not give me one. I then asked him to sign and date my contract that the equipment had been returned as per the contract. He signed it was returned but refused to date it. Then he told me to leave and never return. I did leave and suggest no renters ever return. Renters beware of this location!David W.

The service at the location was excellent. The truck was clean. However, parking was a little tight. But my overall experience with UHaul for this rental was abysmal, nothing to do with this particular was location. I didn't a truck at the original location I had made a reservation for. I was directed to a second location that never opened on Sunday despite notice on premises that it opened. Because of all this, UHaul delayed my schedule for 3-4 hours, and I had to cancel the moving help that I had scheduled. Really bad experience.THOMAS O.
Iinterior floor was very dirty/muddy. Location was a convenience store, also very dirty. Beginning mileage was noted as 905 however; the odometer read 977.8. This was reported including a photo with my online checklist however; we were still billed for the incorrect beginning mileage amount, currently in dispute.JANINE M.

Had to walk on ice to get truck and had a hard time getting truck out of parking lot due to ice and another uhaul truck parked in way. Had to go back inside and ask if they could move other truck so i could get out. Returned truck and marked fuel gauge less then what i returned with.michael U.

I turned in trailer less than 24 hours after picking it up and I was charged for 2 days. I was called 7 days later saying I was in violation of our contract because I still had the trailer when in fact I had turned it in 6 days earlier.Tom B.

They couldn't find my reservation and the guy that was processing my "walk-in" had to call another person to be walked through the process. On the return, half their gas pumps didn't work, so went up and down 3 aisles before one did. I picked the location because it was convenient but this was not a professional U-Haul location...looks like they did more business as a convenient store.Arnab S.

Called UHaul the day before to confirm the dropoff time of 10am. Arrived at 9:15 am and spoke to the person inside. Specifically asked if any paperwork was required and was told, "No.". Was told email would arrive with closeout information. When received receipt checkout time was listed as 1:14pm and I was charged an extra day. I was randomly assigned this location as closest. When i went to Driving Directions webform I noticed 83 reviews with about a 2,5 star rating while other nearby UHaul locations had 4,5 and 5 star ratings. I should have paid attention to other customers! THESE PEOPLE DESERVE THEIR LOW RATING. Either they did not bother to process the return until 1:14pm or they just changed the time to charge me an extra day. Whatever it was, it wasn't correct. i called 1-800-GOUHAUL and was told a customer service supervisor would return call me within 72 hours. These people do not represent the company well, which overall did a good job. The official UHaul store at the origin and the eventual secondary (non-UHAUL) origin location where the truck I needed was found were professional and helpful. Cavalier Food Mart failed! Maybe this is deliberate, but it is certainly a pattern. These people simply said return your keys and you're done. Do not use this location unless you want extra risk!Brian K.

Non of the equipment I reserved was available. I had to drive 20 miles out of my way to rent dolly's and blankets from Home Depot, and I had to PAY for those miles. The first truck offered was FULL of dog hair and literally had dog feces in the middle seat. I was charged up front for the truck in the full amount, but when I returned it after my move, I was fully charged again. I was told the first charge was a hold and the bank would have to reverse it. What if I hadn't had the funds for that?? I requested a call back in the fake courtesy email they send and never heard from anyone. When I called about the double charge I expressed a very polite complaint about not getting equipment and about the dog feces and asked who should I relay that to, and the woman became rude and asked me what did I want to do.. she was so so abrasive, I decided to leave it and just make this review for other users to be aware of what they are dealing with. When I asked what time I needed to return my rental I was told I could bring back my rental up until closing at 10 pm. No mention of charging me a second rental period. Sure enough, this place charged me for the second rental period. Cavalier Food Court has not responded to my request to correct this billing error.David W.

I reserved a truck to be picked up in Spicewood. When I called to confirm, was told they didn't have a truck and would have to go to Lakeway. When I called this location, was told to go to third location. This location did not have the furniture dolly I had requested or the regul;ar dolly. What a mess!Charlotte K.
This location was horrible. When I pulled into this location around 8am (truck due by 9:30am), I parked the truck in the front of the building. I then went inside and informed the gentleman that I was turning in my truck. Instead of saying thank you or saying hello, he rudely told me, â€œyou can't park the truck there. You need to move the truck to the side of the building.â€ Not knowing this location, I asked him what side he wanted me to park the truck. He told me to park it over there and pointed in the direction. Rather than help guide me, while backing up a 26 foot truck into a tiny spot, the guy stayed inside. Luckily I driven longer trailers before or else there's no way I would have safely backed this truck up. After parking the truck, I went back inside and handed him the keys. The guy didn't say anything, not even a thank you. I asked him if I get a receipt or email and he stated I get an email. He didn't say anything else. So I left. The next day I get an email showing a charge for an extra day on the truck because he put the return time as 12:23pm which it was due by 9:30am. The 12:23pm was not even physically possible since I was at work which is an hour away. I called u-haul and informed them that I should not have to pay for the extra day and that there were video cameras there and they would show I was there around 8:00am. I was informed that it would be three days for an investigation. I tried to ask the representative how do I make sure I don't start getting all these extra charges (interest, inconvenience fees, etc), but she was unable to advise because she didn't work in billing which is understandable. I will not ever pickup or drop off at Cavalier Food Mart again. I've already informed my family and friends in the area to stay away from that place. If I was U-haul I would drop this place because he is going to cost you customers which means less revenue.PAUL E.

As this location is not an official U-Haul place of business with U-Haul employees, I did not feel secure in the rental of the equipment. When renting at an official U-Haul (brick and mortar) location, a U-Haul staff member will come out to the truck and inspect it with you. Upon return of the truck, they often inspect it again. I was given the contract, handed the keys, and pointed to the truck. Upon return of the truck, I handed in the keys and the truck was not inspected for the right fuel level (even though I had filled it up to a 1/2 tank as instructed) or for damage (no damage was incurred). In order to improve this experience for the next customer, I recommend either to hire a U-Haul staff member to be on site or bring an official U-Haul office/location to this area of town.Ashley S.

I originally selected my preferred pick up location and went there the morning of my reservation. I was told they didn't have my rental and to go to a different location. I went to the second location which also didn't have my rental. After sitting on hold for 15 minutes I finally confirmed my pick up location with a representative at a third address. No one informed me my preferred location was not where I was supposed to pick up my truck and I spent over an hour going to different locations. Meanwhile UHaul sent me multiple texts asking to tow different equipment for compensation (which I didn't consider appropriate, since the contents of the equipment were not disclosed), so it would have been very simple to contact me. I did not feel comfortable at The Cavalier food Mart and would not go back there. Also, I received the truck with 1/8 tank of gas, which was very disappointing considering the cavalier food Mart is a gas station.McKinley C.
I had a confirmed reservation at Austin Boats & Motors for last Monday and they are closed on Mondays. You need to update your system. I had to pay movers to wait around while I found a truck elsewhere and that place was gross!!! The truck was good, clean, etc but the facitlities are 3rd world. Whoever was working at the location just handed key and said check in online. As a previous Uhaul renter, it would have been nice to know that when dropped off you also needed to checkout online. I filled truck, took a picture of odometer for my own use, locked the truck and took key in to business. Was told I needed to check out online. A friend had picked me up so we drove away as I checked out only to have to turn around and return as the location services would not pick up. Then I needed a picture of the odometer and the gas reading so had to go back in and ask for the key. Went and took picture and locked door of truck and returned key. Only to have to go back and get it again to take pictures of the interior of the truck and where I parked the truck. Kind of frustrating when you have never had to do this before and person on location was no help.Louise M.

I was confused if the key was self-serve or if the gas station attendant had it. Last time the keys were in a box self served and I found it more convenient that waiting on the line while he finished other customers. I also assumed the additional rental of the pads were inside the truck I didn't had instructions if the attendant had them so I left without them and I had to improvised how to cover my furniture. On the other hand the truck was super clean and well parked.Lorena G.
Why do you have people drive all over the place to drop off a vehicle? It looks like you're trying to drive the miles up to make up pay even more for a rental! Very disappointed in the U-Haul experience. Let's see if this message really gets anyone's attention. It's not likely based on this experience.Terri S.
I rented an appliance hand truck and was told after waiting 20 minutes to do the paperwork I already did on line that they didn't have it. Took me an additional 30-45 minutes to hunt one down somewhere else and get it. HUGE WASTE OF TIME ON MOVING DAY!!! Will never go back there again.Lance W.

This is my first negative review in my life; I am a fairly happy person. The truck smelled like a sweaty corp. There was no dolly available on site, and I ordered one online. How are you suppose to move something heavy if there is no dolly?! I had to play Hercules and now have to recover for a few days. The guy at the register was really nice, he is the only reason I don't want to make this review public. However, the whole deal was just a shit show. From now on, I will try to stay away from uhaul.Michael Y.

Picking up the truck was fine. Was charged for 2 dozen moving blankets but was only provided with what was in shop. Was not bundled together just essentially put in front of me to count. Also would be nice to know at the time of reservation that all equipment requested was there or not. I had to go to a different U-Haul location to retrieve missing items.Chris C.
