Clerk who rented trailer was good and knew what to do. Returning it was very u pleasant experience. Firstly had difficulty in finding contract. When she did find it wanted to charge me a late fee for not having it back by 7:55am. Had a hard job explaining that that was when I picked up trailer, and in fact was returning it an hour early. Provide winter tires and tire chains for winter driving conditions. We had over six inches of snow and there's no tools or tire chains in the rented truck. Otherwise it was a good experience. We've used uhaul before but not in the winter.

For two days we tried to book on the website, and it was impossible. I've never negotiated a website as difficult obstinant and unhelpful as the U-Haul website. It was only by happenstance that we were able to find the phone number of the location and call them directly. I've never done business with a company so difficult to get a hold of.

Provide training to employees about services and equipment so that they are able to assist with hooking up tow trailers and inspection or truck etc. This should not be the customers responsibility when getting the equipment and when dropping the equipment off— it should not be the responsibility of the customer to do the employees job. Even though we had booked a reservation well ahead of time, it was never guaranteed as to where we could pick the equipment up until the day before which is not very reassuring for customers considering moving is already a stressful time. We had also rented a utility dolly which was not provided in store. There were no utility dolly's available. This location also did not allow take a box leave a box even though the debit credit machine said it offered the service, that seems like false advertising. When returning the equipment, the self return process was ridiculous and unsafe in the pitch black backing up into a narrow area with no adequate lighting. Make it easier for customers who pay a fair amount to return the equipment. It is not right to charge a customer $20 to do the employees job of returning equipment if the customer did not choose to use their mobile device. The only helpful part was that the phone staff and email support did try to help mitigate these issues a bit.

When someone books 3 weeks in advance and you say something will be there at the time requested, make sure it happens. I booked it for 8:00am and the day before was told it wouldn't be ready until 3:45. I had plans 3-4 weeks in advance, this shouldn't be an issue. Also not sure why it costs so much more to rent something in one city and drop it off in another? Doesn't make sense that it's cheaper to rent it in one city, drag it all over the province and drop it off at the same location instead of renting it in the city it's needed.

Very poor customer service and never admit their mistake. They over charge me and never fix mistake. I asked pulling recording phone bit they didn't do that. Won't recommend to friends or people never. Good job guys.

Staff needs better training - I stood at the counter for over 30 minutes while they sat at the computer looking confused (the return was the same). The online check-in was of absolutely no value. Uhaul also needs a better reservation system. I reserved a trailer online and the guy just ahead of me got the LAST ONE. I had to come back the next day after he returned it. Something is broken when I can reserve something that's not actually there, and not find out until I go to pick it up. This is not the first time this has happened to me. Very frustrating, and I had to rearrange my moving schedule.

It took almost an hour to get a simple trailer for a in town move !! I had to fix the hitch as it was all rusted ! Requiring a pipe wrench to free it !! Also wd 40 ! Very inexperienced sales and a really bad lack of equipment maintenance! Bad overall experience at this location

This is a new uhaul depot and the people attending were still learning how to process the paperwork. I was grossly overcharged and have been unable to discuss the charges with anyone in your offices.

The trailer was dirty inside and needed to be swept out. The staff at this location could use additional training as both of the women who handled my rental had difficulties using the online booking system. I also had to wait several times while they stepped away to assist Handi Mart customers (mostly purchasing Lotto tickets) - there is even a sign indicating that U-Haul customers are secondary priority. Aside from that, the trailer was in good condition and did the job well.

I dropped off the U-Haul and they keep calling and asking where it is. It was dropped off where it was supposed to be dropped off and yet the staff working at that location can't seem to find it, it's big enough to spot in a parking lot. Maybe I can drive there and look myself?

After arriving 3 hours early, noon, and it wasn't due till 3:15 pm, waited an hour and a half while the lady was trying to rent a trailer out, someone else came in and wanted to just leave the trailer and the paper work. She said sure. So I asked if I could do that also. She said yes. I unhitched and she took part of the papers and handed me back some and I left. Then received a text at 3:30 saying I would owe 20 if I didn't return it soon. Got to my destination and called them. After going through 3 people and 1 disconnection they said the lady at drop off couldn't get into the program and they would try to enter it tomorrow. Next day, got a phone call asking why we hadn't dropped it off yet...

When serving U-Haul customers, don't be serving other General Store customers so that it extends the rental sign up period. It took over an hour just to rent a small utility trailer.

We busted out're butt's to be there before 3pm BC time as the lady told us she wanted to leave by 3pm. As a result we ensured we left by 3 AM Aberta time to ensure we made it in time to accommodate this. Business says it's open till 4pm.

Everything was done to ensure the hand in went smoothly especially as there was a problem with the computer at the time. My driver was surprised at the location as the street started some distance away, went parallel to the main road and then crossed it. A map of the location with the paperwork would have been very helpful. I was very satisfied with both the pick up and return venues for U-Haul.

Took the lady over 45 minutes to do the paperwork, we had to run back and forth and find trailers for her! And when we were finally finished she told us she didn't have any adaptors for plugs 5 pin to 7 pin (standard) so after 45 of waiting for paperwork we then had to run all the way downtown to purchase a adapter. Lastly I rented the Uhaul for 11:30 didn't get out of the office with trailer loaded (which only took us 5 minutes) till 12:30! Then she told us it has to be back by 3:45 because they stop doing Uhaul at 4! I didn't care because we kept the trailer for as long as we needed which was longer then the time she said (we should have been able to keep it for at-least 6 hours) over all was a very unorganized frustrating setup. Please Train your staff!!!!

We had a flat tire in Northern BC on a Sunday, thought we would be there for the night. Nancy contacted Kal Tire emergency service & were on the road in an hour. She made sure we were safe & continued to keep us informed throughout . Great job.

At drop off the lady was on the computer and continued to tell me for 10 minutes about what was in the news that day, turning her computer towards me to see it. It is moving day, I really don't care what is happening in the news. Then she gives me three choices of where to park the trailer. Two of them were way too small, absolutely no way that trailer would fit and the one we put it into left only an inch or two on each side. (the lot was very large with many spots that would be easy to park it in). She messed up the return paperwork and had to call in to fix it which took even more. time. This probably wouldn't have been such a big deal if I didn't have to hear about the news beforehand. Once again I put not applicable to recommending this location because it is the only location in that city.

Dropoff location was a busy 'corner' type store, only 1 staff member on. Had to wait multiple times to finish returning my equipment as "the store comes first". Was asked to park my trailer and truck myself instead of just dropping off. Took over a half hour from the time i arrived until I was finally able to leave with my return signed off on.

The online drop off option did not work for me and the 20$ convenience fee is unreasonable. This fee was also not clear at initial pick up. Luckily the service person was reasonable and helped me with this. Uhaul needs to be more transparent about thier fees

The owner of the business should NOT be dealing with customers. I had a photo of when I signed out the truck with miles and gas and when I came back and signed in, I did the same thing. Owner advised when I signed out it said 3/8s full and when I brought back it was a needle width over the 1/4 gas. I showed her the pics to show I brought back same as taken out, and I had advised the person who marked me out put a note on file indicating it was not 3/8s full when taken. The owner replied that that wasn't how it was done and charged me an addition $29.68 for gas - to fill up one needle worth more, beyond the 1/4 mark (it was back to where it had been, already)? Unheard of. I lost my temper and swore at the woman, who wouldn't listen, wouldn't accept the photos I had with the miles and gas gage when checked out and checked in. She screamed at me to get out of her shop or she was phoning the cops. Then, she sends me a receipt by email and she has signed under customer signature....not even my signature on the contract, her imitation!!!! I am letting the whole world know - "do not ever rent from Williams Lake Uhaul, you are treated like crap if you deal with the business owner". (The first woman who checked me out was pleasant and was the one who suggested to take the picture of out and in and she advised she would leave a comment on the file that it wasn't 3/8s full when taken.) The owner woman would not consider any of this, just said that isn't how we do it at uhaul, we go out and check with our eyes. This is the worst treatment I have ever received dealing with a service where the customer is supposed to be given fair play, at the least. To improve for the next customer, I would suggest having someone else be your uhaul representative.

That they listen to what you tell them. I had a 6x12 trailer to drop off. I had it an extra day and a half, which I had to pay for and everything went wrong from there. They are trying to charge me for a truck u-haul and not just a 6x12 trailer. They are also trying to charge me over $2,000 dollars. Still fighting to get this shit straightened out, when All I owe really is over $80.00. I am so fed up right now, I could scream. Have always used u-haul to move, but this experience I am going through right now. I will not use u- haul again.

Make sure you have the right size unit available when people book it so you don't show up the might before move day expecting a 26 foot truck to leave with a 20 foot and have to deal with paying another mover with a trailer... Uhaul is a nightmare and a joke and I will make sure everyone I know gets to hear about my experience. My mom move in November with uhaul and sister 2 weeks ago with a uhaul and nothing but disorganization. I'm not impressed your company is a joke

Staff were not very helpful when I called with questions as to which trucks were available and said all booking should be done online. after booking on line but having issues with the on site tasks, I called U-Haul and they were very helpful and spoke with the on-site staff who then did a very good job of completing the booking on their computer.

Customer check in was slow, due to system issues, not the employee. It took me 65 minutes to check out my trailer and I did register online with ALL the info, from DL to vehicle info. This needs to be more streamlined.

We did not receive the truck we booked and only found out the night before which resulted in 2 trips instead of one. They also did not have have a dolly available which we booked online as well. We were also charged for the dolly they we did not receive. Unfortunately it's the only location in Williams lake so we had to deal with what we had.

The clerk did her best, but being one person serving customers for the store plus UHaul is naturally problematic. The computer crashed once, my card was declined, (computer glitch continuing) but was accepted later when the boss keyed it in from home. When the poor clerk phoned the 1-800 number they told her they receive 800 calls an hour and couldn't help her. I ended up being charged more than once for the entire trip. Three times. U-Haul 1 800 were amazing to deal with on my end. I'd booked it for next year by mistake and the woman fixed that at 11:30 pm the night before pick up. The gas gauge read incorrectly, and we took a picture of it and told the clerk at pick up and showed her, clerk passed that on to National yet we were charged upon drop off. The Okanagan manager called within minutes of my lodging a complaint about the gas charge with 1-800, who then filed my complaint. Again, super service. My credit card was credited immediately. However, despite being told two of my charges were being refunded by today, I have not received any email regarding those yet.
