I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and dispute an unexpected charge incurred during my recent rental experience with U-Haul. On MARCH 24, 2024, I rented a 10 foot truck (TM 3425k) from a Staten Island, NY facility for 1 day, with the understanding that it was a rental for the day, not on a per mile basis. Throughout the reservation process on your website, at no point was it explicitly stated that there would be additional charges for mileage. To my surprise, upon returning the vehicle, I was charged an extra $49,05 for mileage. This charge was entirely unforeseen and not communicated to me beforehand. As a conscientious customer, I meticulously reviewed the rental terms and conditions provided by U-Haul, and nowhere did it mention any additional fees related to mileage. I am deeply disappointed by this lack of transparency and feel misled by the information provided on your website. As a result, I am formally requesting a refund of the $49,05 that was unfairly charged to me for mileage. I want to emphasize that my intention is not to escalate this matter further by involving my bank or any external parties. Rather, I am reaching out to you directly in the hopes of resolving this issue amicably and swiftly. I trust that U-Haul takes customer satisfaction seriously and values transparency in its business practices. Therefore, I kindly request that you promptly process the refund for the disputed amount and provide confirmation of the same. CANDICE KVehicle didn't have back up camera and back up alarm. It also has mechanical issue as it's not picking up quickly.

Helmi SI received the van with less than 3/4 of a tank of gas. I fueled it to morr than received it. I told the lady at the counter about it when I returned the van but was charged for gasoline when I received the final bill. Please refund the fuel charge. Thank you, Joe Pang
Joe PI drop off my truck around 10 pm, and there is no lights at all over there my wife had to hold a flash light so I can see while i reverse to park there.

clint aVery poor response to U-Haul app. Tried multiple times the app keeps hanging. Had a hard time renting and returning. Please clearly mention where to find the keys. The video mentions back of truck or drop box. There was no drop box, the keys were hanging on a gate. Response times to U-Haul app pathetic

Elmir KStaff and location were great, trailer looked fine, but had a terrible vibration at highway speed. Shook my entire truck. Also the the screw down hitch lock is a terrible design. I've rented the motorcycle trailer countless times, and this is the first time I've seen it. I thought it was tightened all the way, but it popped off as I loaded my bike, damaging my tailgate.

Vivek GI'm not rating the location but the overall experience. Our reservation, 24/7, was at a different location (Stefanelli Avis in Princeton) in Princeton, which had not properly set up the pick up of the truck on a Sunday when they are closed. (so we couldn't get the truck we'd reserved). We called Uhaul who then arranged for us to pick up a truck at Circle Automotive in Monmouth Junction at a later time and at a location 7 miles further away. Again, the location was closed and the experience signing in using our phone was needlessly complicated. They asked for passport info to verify the driver, and then took our son's phone number and took forever to call him (he was right with the driver) to verify that his dad could drive. Delayed us another half hour. We are reluctant to use Uhaul 24/7 again after this experience.

Deepak CCharged for a gallon of gas that was not needed. I have pictures of gas gauge before & after which do not match what they had on contract & receipt. 29 miles used & I added 2 gallons of gas at return, which is more than enough for a van that supposedly gets 16 miles/gallon. And then they charged 5,7/gallon when contract stipulates $4,75/ gallon.
