The U-Haul App didn't recognize me at this location which made it frustrating to quickly check-in and return. I needed to call customer service to unlock the lockbox. I like the mobile check-in and return idea but I've never had a successful experience with the mobile App. It was a little scary to have it still not working when I returned the truck at night, I tried the App several time and eventually dropped the key in door slot.

Nothing, they were great. I showed up 3 hours early as they were opening with other customers there and was taken care of professionally, quickly, and with a smile. Definite recommend to a friend/family.

Everything was great. The U-haul employee were really friendly and willing to help. That impressed me is that when I returned back at ~7:30pm (while the location is working until 5:00pm) , there still was a person who took my key and sent me a receipt. I really appreciate his hard work. Location is also very convenient, there are many places for parking and easy to access from US-29. The truck I got was in good conditions and clean. I would give more than 5 stars if it was possible. Thanks so much.

Pick up and drop off using my mobile device went very well. Equipment was ready and clean. We will definitely use this location again!!

When my husband told the gentleman that the truck leaked and had damaged my mattress, etc., he just shrugged him off and said okay.

A comment on the truck - There is no working charge port. Neither the 12 volt or the USB charger worked.

This was a self serve drop off via Uhaul app.

Reservation was changed for a second time now having me drop off at a third location. This location was fine. I will not be renting from U-Haul again. I have used UHaul probably a dozen times for short and long distance moves but the customer service for this reservation with multiple location changes. The first change was to a location 25 miles from my house. The move was probably about 5 miles roundtrip so ridiculous to pay all that extra money and time. I had to talk to 2 people to get to someone who could make arrangements for me to pick up a larger truck at a closer location. Upon request she adjusted the charge to the amount in my original reservation. Then the reservation changed such that the self check in feature didn't work resulting in an hour long phone call...mostly on hold (3x) before I was able to get the truck.

Add grab bar on left side of box entry there was only one on the right side.

Dealer was great ...as was your help desk but I do think it's problematic that in a market as big as Charlottsville that you don't have a local emergency service ( we had a damaged rim and a punctured tire and it took close to 6 hours to get it serviced)...not exactly punctual...again no complaints otherwise...

u haul web site is cumbersome and time consuming; web site quit twice and little help from pick-up location where lawn mower and busy street were next to service window. It took over one hour to pick up the truck, time which should be available for moving. Your new web-based approach is terrible customer service. Web site works particularly poorly and often will not open with Safari.

The first time experience with self check in was frustrating. The one line chat person for customer service for the online check-in was poor. Luckily a representative of this location was on site and was extremely helpful. I believe he said his name was either MARK or Mike Hammond.

We drove 65 miles. Before to drop off the truck we filled the tank with gas. It turned out 9 gallons! For 65 miles. That's not right.

I absolutely like the online rental process, and the manager was very nice professional and helpful to me. I would highly recommend this location. Thanks for your service.

I would make the no contact check in less time consuming and the phone verification part is the most difficult part people aren't always available to answer the phone and then to have to wait for a answer is very very time consuming . I was on site at 10:45 for a 11:00 check in and didn't get checked in until 11:30 this was entirely too time consuming. I should have just selected the regular check in option.

It was very difficult to get the u-haul after arriving at the facility. The process was very lengthy and had many hiccups. There was no one on site and the website was clunky. I could not get the location setting to work on my phone, so I had to use a friend. There was no mention of needing a second form of ID, and information like this as well as a photo of my ID should have been asked when I first started the reservation. The customer care representative took her time doing the paperwork on her end, and did not provide any updates. The first secondary contact was rejected, and we were never told. In the end, it took about 45 min to get the u-haul, which made me late to my next appointment. The u-haul also did not have a full tank of gas, which was hard to measure when refilling it. I would not recommend anyone going to this location after hours. There should really be someone on site on Saturdays when most people are in need of a u-haul.

The gentleman in charge of the location was very helpful. He had great patience in guiding me through the arduous online check in procedure. He should be a teacher. Very well done.

It would have been really helpful if I could have extended my rental another day. I called and asked about extending the rental and I was informed that it was not available. If it had been available for another day it would have helped me a lot. There was also a $20 change that I don't know what it was for. I'm sure that if I had read all of the fine print it would have mentioned it, but I find that to be a little bit deceptive when you advertise rentals for $19.99 but it actually costs more than twice that. I wish you would just be honest and upfront about the cost.

I was having some difficulty with my UHaul app to sign my vehicle out. The attendant, Faith, was more than helpful. She went out of her way to ensure that I had everything in order. I also needed her help later in the day, and she came through in a stellar fashion. I have always found this UHaul facility good, but Faith made it stellar.

The location is great and the guy who worked there was extremely helpful. However, I checked in and picked up the truck via the U-Haul app, and the wait time was a bit long (~10 mins waiting for approval). I think it's fine if I could know the approximate wait time in advance, but without knowing, I was wondering if something was wrong while I stared at my “waiting for approval” screen for 10 mins.

The app is NOT easy to use.

My issues were not with this location, it is with U-Haul. My initial reservation was cancelled and the second one was difficult to activate. Very frustrating experience.

Clerk struggled with completing my transaction and getting me out of there. Also very awkward figuring out what to do since nobody was at the desk and the building was closed

I had some trouble with the vehicle assignment on line and when I dropped off the truck the return app failed on my phone.

The team there was very helpful and friendly. Everything was ready and waiting to go.

The checking in was confusing online. It took half an hour. Once we got the keys everything went well.

The people here are great, and the truck was clean and fueled and ready to go. Locally speaking, no complaints--the place is well-run and well-staffed. What made this a miserable experience was Uhaul's central processing. I stood/squatted outside for 30+ minutes in the sun waiting for someone somewhere to clear me to go. People were waiting at my apartment to help load up, but the online process was agonizingly slow. We did everything right--I did the online check-in beforehand, had all my documents ready, and my spouse was ready to answer the phone immediately when Uhaul called to confirm that I'm a real person or whatever. Uhaul was just way behind and took way longer than what's acceptable, considering it costs $700+ for this with insurance and all.

Good experience

Was not able to access the online link to sign in. Customer service rep at the store can outside and was very helpful.

It was a little difficult doing the online pick-up/drop-off. Better if someone there in office and much faster.

If you are renting equipment like moving blankets or a utility dolly, it should be stated clearly somewhere during the rental process that if you return the truck after hours, that you need to have a lock for the truck or put them in the cab. I only figured this out by noticing a small sign on the door where I was to leave the keys, and got clarification after calling customer service.

The UHaul app had a couple issues, but the staff at Community Self Storage were very helpful and were able to take care of everything very quickly.

It was outstanding

Very annoyed with the employee working. Had to wait in the rain for confirmation.

First truck had an unforeseen engine problem, but it was quickly and seamlessly replaced with another one. Added maybe 3 minutes to my pick up. Outstanding service on the fly

This was a disaster, but it had nothing to do with the end drop off site. My contract said to drop off one one side of the town the night before. I arrived 30 min early and started to try and drop off, but after I arrived, the schedulers moved my drop off across town. The site I was at said there was nothing they could do and suggested I call customer service so I didn't get charged for dropping off at the wrong location. After 20 min on hold, I jumped back into the uhaul and drove to the other site. What a nightmare. Schedulers shouldn't change after sending the drop off location the night before.

Increase the number of photos you can upload showing pre-existing damage on the vehicle. Improve quality of online check-in. The system crashed before I had completed my check-in.

The online piece was a little complicated. There were other customers that had a challenging time figuring out the online registration. But the staff lady was very patient and helpful.
