The vehicle is old, over 135 000 miles. The door was extremely heavy to open and close. It drove like a tank loud and time to put to pasture. Also, to top it all off, it leaked after a rain and got our things wet! Really disappointed in the vehicle. Expected better quality from U-Haul.Margaret S.

Originally quoted $29 day/.79 per mile for local use 7 miles away. Instead spent 2 hrs with my car to pick up truck 52 miles away, charged $116 as a one way trip and added $29 of fuel plus my car fuel about $20. That is $165 in expenses for what should have been about a $55 charge. The dealers are not at fault, corporate is! I spent $165 basically moving your unit from Sarasota to Port Charlotte. I request a refund of $100. This seems like a bait and switch designed to extract more $$ from an unsuspecting consumer. The gentleman that checked us in in Sarasota was great. Professional, personable and diligent. The truck however smelled of cigarette smoke. We have rented two trucks in the last couple weeks and both smelled like cigarette smoke. Not happy about that. It lingers into my clothes. It does bother me also that you give 52 miles for the trip considering There were 9 U-Haul dealers closer than the one I had to go to to get a truck and you give no extra miles? The U-Haul I dropped off at was only 6 miles away from our house. However, it was 49 miles from the dealer to our house. However, as I stated previously, your employee was very good and the drop off seemed smooth.Frank B.

Agent did not come out and go over the truck operation with me before I took off. That would have been helpful as it took me awhile to figure out that there was a yellow light that associated with a trailer. However, I didn't have a trailer and could easily turn off the light (not a warning light).Larry E.

I was very upset as I found out late at night the day before I was picking up my reserved truck that that size I reserved was not available nor were the 2 dozen furniture pads available. I was told that calls were made to me earlier in the day but was NOT left a voicemail, no email. It's wasn't until after 7pm that I received a text about this. The move took me a lot longer due to the smaller truck and not having furniture pads â€œBlankets made loading challenging not to damage my belongings. Appreciate the $50 credit to my account. Really appreciated when I returned the truck to Compass Self Storage that the manager Fred Martell was so apologetic and very sweet. In the future I will book straight they to himCeleste B.

Excellent in every phase. Gentleman on the phone was particularly patient.He had to wait while I found my purse to get my credit card, then had to wait until i found my glasses to read it!! He just laughed with me! I did observe a strange icon on the lower right corner and looked for a manual but did not find any. I only had 3 miles to go so proceeded. I reported it to the owners. Perhaps a card in the glove compartment-store with possible icons would be advantageous,.Delores P.

The facility was very clean and organized and the rental and return were very quick and easy. My biggest issue was that in addition to the truck, I had rented moving blankets and a cart. This location did not have those items so I had to travel to another location to get those. In addition, the original order for those additional items was canceled so I had to create a new rental for the accessories which then required me to return the items separately. The second location told me that had those items been left on the order instead of canceled, I could have returned everything with the truck ad one location. I would still recommend this location but only if the truck is all that is needed.David M.

Truck was clean, however when I picked up the truck the check engine light was on. After about 6 hours this light did turn off but then the tire pressure light came on and it was saying â€œservice tire, monitor systemâ€. I've rented several Uhauls in the past and have never had an issue but to have not one but 2 hazard lights come on while driving this particular truck made me nervous and I did not want to drive itHannah F.

So I accidentally left my coffee cup and a pack of brand new cigarettes by accident and the gentleman called me as I am working two jobs and told me that he's going to hang onto it for me and then I got so busy with work for a week he called me again to remind me I told him that I would be there the next day and I showed up and he said he threw away my pack of cigarettes but he was my coffee cup because he said he hates cigarettes. I thought that that was very rude and I almost made him pay for a new one but then again it's not his responsibility and it was my fault for leaving it. But if that was me he would've gotten everything back.Christopher K.

I used uhaul for the first time to move a friend & was charged a cleaning fee because a small amount of liquid had poured out from moving the refrigerator. I tried to contact support and ask why I was being charged an additional 50$. They told me the truck needed cleaning. Although when I had rented it from the store the guy had never informed me of this. It literally would have taken me 2 minutes to wipe up the spot and you all are charging me 50$. First time customer and last time customer I'll look elsewhere next time I need a truck.RYAN P.

I did not get enough miles for my move. The distance door to door is 66 miles. They never accounted for the fact that I needed to drive from the location of pickup to the loading house and then the distance from the unloading house to the drop off location.Anthony C.

I would recommend this location only. This guy was great and really tried to work with us to solve the â€œno truckâ€ issue. U-haul In general is a different story. I will NEVER use U-haul again. Customer service calls with 15-20 min wait times. Changing my pick up location AND time without notice. I don't know why U-Haul thinks they get to decide what day and time I will move but they don't.Jesse C.
