The mobile check-in and check-out takes way too long, especially the having to take all the photos. Also--nothing to do with this location--I ordered blankets from Uhaul, was charged for them, but they never arrived in the mail. My mattress covers did arrive in the mail though.

The truck was In terrible shape. Beat up and with very little gas. The steering wheel kept pulling to the left. The brakes were bad. And it took forever to log on and get the keys. Overall a terrible experience

Cab of our truck was a disgusting, sticky mess. The truck drove horribly. Really need to check the transmission. Thank goodness we weren't going too far, because that was one scary ride! Back of the truck was not cleaned out so we had to sweep it and take the garbage out of it before we loaded our stuff in it, as well as sweep it afterwards. Not happy at all!

Location was fine problem was with your badly written app that doesn't work with Android phones. It wouldn't let me photograph my license and then when returning truck it wouldn't let any pictures be taken. I tried calling the 800 "customer service" number which was useless since it just said there was high call volume & put me in an extremely long hold. Luckily my daughter, who has an iPhone was with me & your app works with them so I was finally able to do the return. Btw, during this I was still on hold with the (NOT) customer service who never did pick up.

Comment: Thea ladies that assisted me in the office and over the customer service helpline were amazing. The level of care I received in the midst of driving back and forth was astonishing. The staff was incredible. The only suggestion: The adjustment to the mirror. It was very difficult to see at times.

The reason I would recommend to the friend because your link to return the truck does work well with IPHONEs. The mere fact you will charge people additional $20.00 to complete the returning of the vehicle is absurd. The young lady that helped was excellent.

I would like a refund for the lock that was broken - I had to go out very late at night and buy one. Pick up was terrible - I walked in as they were about to give my truck away and then they spent 20 minutes looking for the keys that they lost. It took me 30 minutes to drop off because uhaul.com kept reloading over and over again so I downloaded the app and the same thing kept happening. Overall, bad experience.

I didn’t like the face they charge my card 35 dollars plus 12.99 ... when the place it’s only 19.99 she said she charge 35 dollar because she didn’t know how many miles I was going... I only went up the street from the place gas didn’t even move anywhere I should of took a picture of it I had the truck at 11 && drop it off less then 30 mins never would I tell a person to come here bad service

Took over 40 minutes for clerk to type in my info which I already did before I arrived. Not sure why this had to be done again? Mistakes, wrong price, computer freezing etc.

The regular girl is on maternity leave so the woman that was there was very confused , not knowing what to do . After over half a hour I told her I really need to get going and she replied that she wants me gone more than I need to leave. I was patient but something that normally takes less than 10 minutes took so much longer. I was confused and concerned, gave me a uneasy feeling with her. People walked out shaking their heads due to the confusion. She was nice but unsure of everything she did. Can't wait for the usual girl to be back. Will be back in the spring to rent again next year

We had an issue with the back door when we opened it he door went all the way up n we couldn't get it down spent almost an hour trying worried about damaging the truck or one of our hands...I called customer service n they were helpful n was able to add more time to my rental due to time lost...will definitely use again.

I think the cost was fairly high. To me $1.99 per mile is high.Our 238 mile ride cost us over $560. That seems high to me.

Cargo area was not clean when I picked up the truck. Lock for the cargo did not open, there was no proper way to secure the hand truck and blankets after dropping vehicle off. Not sure why I was charged a “flat fee”. I did not get a flat while using the vehicle. If I payed for insurance and said insurance covers damage to myself, my property and vehicle. This “flat fee” should be already covered by that charge. I was disappointed to find this fee upon checkout. Seems like another way for cooperate to nickel and dime their customers.

The mover that we hired through U-Haul.com/moving help (Journey Anywhere Movers) cancelled 30min before the agreed meeting time. So we were stranded and unable to move. Caused major problems with our apartment, U-Haul and everyone involved. Also increased the cost of the move. Never rely on these people- irresponsible and unprofessional.

1. Staff could benefit from customer service training. Two visits to this location, once to buy packing paper two years ago and once last week to rent a truck. Both times the attendant was less then friendly. I felt like I was intruding and would be lucky to be rented a truck. Not fun getting through the "paperwork" (now done electronically). Little to no customer care. A second employee (no warmth or customer acknowledgment) actually gave a roll of the eyes when I tried to make light of my trouble with the new technology. 2. Equipment maintenance - this was the oldest truck I have ever been given by U-Haul. I have used U-Haul for renting many trucks and vans. This was by far the most poorly maintained vehicle I have ever rented. After getting on the road, the breaks let out squeals! I learned from a U-Haul 800# call that we should report this on check in. The 800# operator was a veteran driver of 16 wheel trucks and advised to be careful. I called to follow-up on two unreturned voice mails I left for the local rental location and was told after a call back to my third voice mail that the sound was not an indication of the breaks having a problem. 3. Extra 2 hours charged - After being given a polite OK to return the truck because a) the area was being hit with very hard rain and b) given the brakes concern, I should drive carefully. No extra charge was to be applied and I was told that the truck was not needed until the next morning but that I could use a new online drop off system to do the check in. I was sent confirmation of the extra 2 hours and instructions on how to use the online check in. 4. Online check in. I love technology and do try to keep up with new applications. The sign out process was new to me but I liked the idea and in the end it worked. This was not the case for the sign in. I tried for 30+ min. to get it to accept my details. The breakdown happened only when I tried to ender the total miles on the odometer. The total on the truck is higher than 100,000 miles and over time I entered the miles it would not recognize the miles. (The upload of the pictures of the miles and all other parts of the sign in appeared to work.) Still with the time trying to get the online sign in to work, I left the keys in the drop box and did a photo of my computer screen with the front door of the office showing I was in ahead of the drop off time of 6 PM. (two hours after the original 4 PM. time. Finally, to U-Hual corporate - Good luck with this location, maybe provide extra customer care training and check out the equipment maintenance. Many better U-Haul options are in the area, with better equipment and much better customer service! I love the strides you are taking with the use of technology! You 800# service rep was outstanding!

I didn’t get into my truck until over 2 hours after my pick up time due to your ridiculous secondary phone verification policy. Spent over an hour scrambling to get a someone to answer their phone and verify they knew me. Not sure what value that added from your end? There were no pads and blankets in the truck as I requested. I also had no idea how much gas to put in since the level was never established. I ended up paying extra for gas. Since I got the truck late, I wasn’t able to empty my storage locker after I finished my move so I will have to pay an additional $200 for the month of May. My total bill for renting a truck for about 7 hours came to $171 plus it cost me $200 for another months storage. I could have got a truck at Budget for 24 hours for $49. Guess where I’m going next time? I would NEVER use U-Haul again. Even at gunpoint, I would choose the bullet over being subjected to your horrible service. Worst day of my life. Thanks for nothing!! ????

Amanda was great, that much is good. The rest was a nightmare. The uhaul app dodnt work correctly, it took 2 hours even though i had rented the truck 5bhours earlier but when it came time to puck it up, Amanda wasn't there and I deslt with Kristin, although I understand she works for the storage company, she wouldn't even give us a minute of help with the truck, she just keot saying, "refer to the app" well...the app wasn't working right. I then called 1800uhaul and i spoke with 6 people b4 FINALLY getti g a gentleman who helped me and it was so easy I dont understand why the others couldn't do it. 1st i stayed on hold 20 minutes for cystomer service, explained the issue just for her to transfer me to customer support (is there a difference?) Then getting the run around, speaking to multiple people I finally got the gentleman (wish i could remember his name) who just gave me combo to get keys. Returning was another issue bc the app keot showing i had no reservation. I suggest you really combine cust service & support, retrain them and fix the app. I was also promised a small credit for the immense problems but instead I was OVERCHARHED!

Customer service was extremely rude to my fiancé. The drop off location was incorrect. I submitted to drop off at manalapan, close to where we unpacked the truck but the database claimed it was to be dropped off where we picked it up which was a mistake on Uhaul’s part. When informed of the glitch, customer service threatened to charge my fiancé $300 and was extremely rude. So my fiancé was forced to drive close to 2 hours round trip out of her was when the original drive would have been down the street. This is completely unacceptable and I will have to think hard before I ever consider using this company again.

I simply cannot understand the negative reviews! I reserved a cargo van for a local move several days prior to needing it. The online check in went well. When I arrived at the location, Kristen was helping a customer who did not have a Smartphone. She was on the phone with her boss trying to find out how to upload his license picture, because the location, for reasons beyond Uhaul's or Compass's control, had no wifi. In a matter of minutes, it was done and he was on his way. Next, customer with no reservation and unprepared. No problem. Handled professionally, and off she drove. My turn - I was done and gone within minutes! After-hours return was also easy. It is necessary to snap some pictures, but quick and simple. I would highly recommend this location! Kristen was lovely (and patient!). Do not pay attention to the Negative Nellies out there! Do what you are supposed to do, and all will be fine!
