Will charge you extra for no reason

Anthony YingThe guy working couldn't hardly speak English, so not a lot of communication on anything. He apparently gave us the wrong truck, even though the paper work is correct. Then when we got back, he tried to over charge us miles. Said we drove 75, even though we were only in town and drove 20 on the dot!! Get better people! And make sure your equipment is ready for each customer.

Brian MabinWhen I made my reservation online, I was quoted $89 when I went to pick up the truck I was quoted a higher price. I was also told that my cost would be adjusted when I drop the truck off they can stay on the reservation. The price that was quoted to me and should have referred to that price instead of trying to overcharge me.
Karen MurriettaThe price quote that i was given was 1/2 as much as i was charged for because of a 'moving safety' fee. I didn't purchase equipment insurance so this charge was completely unwarranted yet indisputable. Additionally, the mobile website to checkout and return the vehicle had numerous glitches and freezes, resulting in the webpage being reset and all of my progress erased.

Jonathan MorrisonMy rental was for 9:00 AM, so I arrived at 8:55. The one and only employee was late to work (9:15) and was clueless about rentals. I had to talk to the location owner over the phone. He was rude and condescending. I had completed the online check-in and received no errors. He insisted that I had done something wrong. At one point, he told me to call U-Haul to fix my rental problems and he threatened to hang up on me! I was paying movers starting at 10 AM to help with the move, so I needed the truck immediately! When I finally got the truck at 9:45, it was dirty, with broken glass on the console/floor and a beer cap on the floor board. (I have pictures). I drove only about 10 miles when the low fuel message appeared. I put 4,5 gallons of gas in the truck, which was more than adequate for the 31 miles I drove the truck. He charged a Fuel Service Fee of $30 and a Fuel Charge of $18 for 4 gallons of gas, even though I left the truck with more gas in it than when I picked it up. I recommend NOT renting from this location!
John SweatWorst U-haul expereince ever. The rental was so dirty that it grossed me out. Whoever runs this U-Haul branch needs to start thinking seriously about making sure rental is decent to use. The mobile pick-up option sucks so bad. It needs to be reanalyzed. The point of mobile pick up should be speed and convenience. Merci.
Verley ValeriusWell I understand its also a gas station but you dont make any customers feel less than the others. The people before me when picking it up waited 3 hours to get their truck. We waited about 2 hours and winded up coming back the next day to get our truck.
Vincent KowalickI've sent a complaint by email and want compensation. The truck was given to me on empty, and two of the engine lights were on. it was a very stressful experience as I had only a small window to get my things and I wasn't sure that the truck was going to make it - and it was rush hour - and I had to stop to get gas, and I was completely alone. There were 5 trucks on the lot... he could have given me a working truck with gas.

James HatchPickup was a nightmare - took 45 mins to get the truck, the employee onsite was trying to be helpful but was a gas station employee with little understanding of the process. Some of the items I ordered were unavailable (dolly/mattress cover/furniture pads). There was old fast food wrappers and bags in the cab and we required roadside assistance before returning the truck because the truck wouldn't start. this experience was a nightmare to say the least. I would actually like to speak with a manager to discuss a partial or full refund for the issues endured.

Ryan SlayFirst of all the location is a cramped Mobil/Exxon station and between customers paying for gas and cigs I got the keys for the reservation. I should have heeded the online reviews. I returned the truck with 5 MILES added after a 5 hour reservation to the minute I might add, and the clerk said I was good to go. No receipt. Nothing after my return. 5 days later I get a receipt and $200+ dollar charge saying that I had the truck for 5 days. We'll see what comes of this, but this location brings the service I expect with Uhaul down to Budget levels.

Mackenzie ParksYea this sucked. Went to pick up the truck and it took almost an hour because the stupid app wasn't working right. I had the same problem last time I used U-Haul. So I did the check in on the website and that was fine. Then I wanted to extend the reservation for an hour. The truck wasn't reserved. The person told me I would have to pay $65 more. For an hour. That was more than the entire rental to begin with. Also the location I picked it up from didn't have a drop box so I had to drive back there the next day. Basically, it was a lot of excessive bullshit that I didn't want to deal with.

michael armijoI made this reservation almost a week before I needed it, the morning of pick I received a phone call that the truck I rented wouldn't be available until !pm and my pickup was supposed to be for 12pm. Once I got there, the only person working ended up dealing with other customers and had me stand aside. Once he was finished, i was well after 1pm. I got a truck finally, which had a check engine light on. Things seemed to be ok until driving it back when it started beeping and service lights started flashing, and the back wheels locked up and the truck lost power. At least this happened after I moved the stuff I needed too. The lights that came on, read "Service Traction Control" and "Service STABILITRAK" Literally had the peddle to floor in order to get the truck to move the 1,5 miles back to return at Conoco. I wouldn't rent form this location, as they also didn't even try to give a discount for the troubles and still had me put gas in it after using. Really not a happy customer.

JAMES CARNAZZOI thought that the process to check in took a bit longer than expected. The location being a convenience store/gas station, things can get really backed up if there had of been more customers. I thought that using the mobile application also would have expedited checking in, but it actually didn't matter had I opted not to use the app, which in parts didn't work effectively.
Charles RapierThe gentleman who checked the truck out to us was very friendly and helpful, however, when we returned it the taller, younger, dark-skinned man (with a piece of toilet paper on his lip) was rude, and said he would wait for us as it was snowing and sleeping rain/snow, which caused us to be running a few minutes behind, and when I got there I put $10 in Gas in the truck and then he tried to tell me I qas responsible for filling the truck up with gas. I said no, I have to put it back to where it was when I checked it out. He couldn't find my reservation. I was never given a receipt , but it was emailed and I was told my estimated charges were $39 and he charged me $70. I looked at the receipt and the truck was at 1/4 of a tank which when I put the $10 in it filled it just barely under the 1/4 mark so he told me he would charge me "$3-$4 more" and I said as long as it isn't $20...and he said no. So I want to know why I was charged $70 for a truck that was a one way and I used it for 4 hours and was supposed to be charged $40 plus gas. I also don't appreciate him lying and saying I was responsible for filling it up....despite him not even being able to find my reservation.
Betsy CraftAwful, awful experience. Tire light on. No working AC. Oil light on. We returned the truck on time and it took 4 phone calls to return it since the guy working the counter was not able to figure out how to return the truck. Will be filing a formal complaint with UHaul.
Michael WachtelI was over charged for mileage also filled the tank with gas I used and still charged over 8 dollars. I was also supposed to pick up at 12 and the attendant not avail. When he finally came out from the back he waited on several customers before me. The truck was very dirty

Edgar ValcarcelThough convenient, this location is poorly managed and only caused issues with my rental. Upon arriving at the location and going through the steps on the app, I was prompted to go inside to retrieve the key. The individual working inside was no help. He was refusing to give me my key and was questioning my process and the vehicle code I was assigned. After spending much time waiting for him to get a hold of a U-Haul representative, he was unsuccessful at doing so. At which time he continued to be hesitant in giving me the the key to my assigned vehicle. After he finally gave me my key the truck was fine, no issues with the vehicle. Fast forward to 6pm when I returned the truck, there was no parking on premises, construction that was obstructing my ability to park in assigned locations, and of course the same individual inside was of no help. This was a frustrating pickup and drop off process, which ended up frustrating me to the point of not being able to properly return the vehicle via the app process, I.e., couldn't take pictures of interior, odometer, etc. because the parking situation was less than ideal and the individual I was giving the keys back to was no help at all. I would not rent from this location again.

The guy in charge of this location didn't send me a receipt after I returned the truck.
Nastajah SilveraU-Haul changed both my pickup and drop off locations for this rental without confirming with me via phone beforehand and I waited on hold several times and got nowhere. I was finally able to return where I had scheduled after waiting on hold and getting it updated. This rental experience was miserable because of the pickup and drop off logistics and inability to get through to anyone on the phone. Waited on hold over 30 minutes on multiple occasions. U-Haul needs to not change pickup or drop off locations and add staff to answer phones. I have used U-Haul several times and these issues happen far too often. I will not be a U-Haul customer again.

Kevin LewisCheck-in and pick-up went great. But there was a bug/loop in the app user flow for returning the vehicle. I kept uploading a photo of the odometer, and then the app would give me a "please upload a photo of the odometer" message, and prevent me from advancing in the process.

Patrick ElliottWe were charged for 10 pads that we reserved but they were out of when we went to pick up the rental. We requested a credit and the man there said he had to call his boss. When we returned the truck later in the day still no response and the charge was on our bill. We will be calling u haul corporate and also requesting a stop payment for this charge on our credit card. This should have been very simple and easy to remedy.

Jonathan WilliamsUpon arrival in Denver, I called the 888 U-Haul # to find the nearest drop off location. It took almost an hour to get through!!! I finally talked to a pleasant representative who directed me to the drop off location at 4380 W 38th St. in Denver. I doubled checked the address and questioned the rep about the correct address and was told that they will be waiting for me. When I got to the address I went into the business and talked to the U-Haul person. He was very unpleasant and seemed put out with helping me. He told me I was at the wrong place and to go somewhere else. I told him to double check his computer. He did and said there was nothing to confirm my arrival. So I had to call back on the 888 number and it took over 20 minutes to get through again!!! The gal said there was an error in their system and that she fixed it. She said to return to the original drop off place. The same man was not interested in helping me. I had to keep asking for him to check again. Finally he found the info we needed and told me to drop off the trailer in front of his place. I told him that I needed help and he said it was my responsibility to dis-connect the trailer!! I told him I couldn's lift it alone. He was reluctant to help me!! He finally helped me lift the hitch off and didn't bother to inspect the trailer or offer a receipt. This was definitely the worst experience I have had with a service company in my life. I have worked for Fedex for 30 years and know what good customer service is. This particular business should be reprimanded. I wasted several hours of my time and effort dealing with this U-Haul drop off location. I expect feedback on this matter and would appreciate a call with an explanation. Anxiously awaiting your response. Merci
Rick CuoioOnly 1 person was working and he was more focused on serving his Conoco and convenience store customers than focusing on us - and we were about to drive his equipment 2000 miles across country. It did not leave me feeling confident the equipment was ready for the drive - and everything was pulled together ad hoc. Disappointed.
steven peaceDue to this location, the LACK of customer service I have received combined with the pick up problems I will be going out of my way to tell people not to use uhaul any longer. I walked in to return the truck and the man, who was on his cellphone, just kept waving his arms around at me; I didn't understand what he was trying to say. When I told him I was looking for help returning the truck, he said "NO" and walked out with a bar and two locks. He tried to just take the key from me multiple times and said he would take care of it tomorrow. I repeatedly had to tell him no, that if he was taking the keys the entire transaction was being done now, not tomorrow. He then locked us out of the location and promptly ran away. We attempted to call uhaul customer service, and I was immediately put on hold (AND AM STILL ON HOLD! It's been an hour). We attempted to do the after hours drop box, which is broken, not attached to the wall and not lockable. We have still not gotten to speak to a customer service representative… despite still being on hold… as I'm writing this. I'd highly recommend uhaul investigating this location further based purely off the NUMEROUS bad reviews it's received simply for their behavior around uhaul.
