The U-Haul app was necessary in order to get my keys. It was a thoroughly frustrating exercise requiring several phone calls to get help, an outdated database entry, so much more. The return when better but still required 15 minutes of nonsense. I wasted 45 minutes in total that would not have happened if a human U-Haul worker had been present
Alan CThe mobile pickup process was a pain as the app has issues and I had to redo sections of it a few times. Took a long time of sitting in the lot to get through it. Additionally, things are not communicated clearly through that process because when I dropped off my vehicle at my destination they surprised me with a $200 charge for not being at the "expected" miles. I had no idea there were expected miles, and I still don't see where that was posted. I wasn't that far off considering the length of my trip so this was a big surprise and a big charge to get slapped with especially when I brought the vehicle back above the fuel tank and received no credit for that. They really should have someone there to check the vehicle in to explain these ticky tacky issues to avoid making customers pay more than they were prepared for.
Brianne KHad to pick up from a different location than reservation, had to drop off at a different location than reservation, got multiple calls about each change even after I confirmed, not like I had a choice. Will never use or recommend uhaul again.

JASON BThe checkin process did not work on the website, or in the app. Was on phone with customer service for 41 minutes to get my key. Checkout: I needed to take some pictures of the vehicle. When i tried to do this, the website closed and I could never find my reservation again. Overall I would say this was one of the worst web/app experiences I ever had

Dan CThe online check in process was painful and slow. The moving blankets and dolly that I ordered were not in the truck and I didn't find this out until I arrived to pick up my truck.
Lee Mit was after hours - so no interaction..... but I did get a call 5 days later wondering when I would turn the truck back in.... WHAT? The truck was turned in same day of rental. I even dropped off the contract so there was no confusion.

Josh MUhaul called and wanted me to drop the truck off at a different location other than Elwood which I chose, which would have taken me another 1 1/2 hours out of my way, plus additional miles on the truck. Uhaul rep told me there was no space to drop the truck; I told them this was unacceptable. This Elwood location is just a drop box. This should be explained on the website. The reviews for this location are poor. Seems like UHaul should have better locations other than a drop box.

Robert MThis is a "remote" location. I made the mistake of inquiring within the shared business at this location and was rudely turned away. My wife had reserved the truck online and assumed hand trucks would be available - they were not. Additionally the system for retrieving the key was overly cumbersome. It took us 30 minutes on the phone with U-haul (transferred SEVERAL times) to finally sort out retrieving the truck. The Uhaul phone staff suggested driving 15 miles to pick up a hand truck at a different Uhaul location! This was a time-consuming, opposite-of-customer-friendly experience. Uhaul needs to get its act together
Greg HThe online check in process did not work and the people at the location simply were not helpful at all. They gave me a phone number to call and the person there was great. Unfortunately the equipment I reserved was not available at the site. I was given a larger truck which was fine but still had to drive about 20 miles to get the dollies I had reserved. Save yourself time and just go to a U-Haul center.
PAUL LWent into the office about 3pm and said I was there to return a 20' truck. The young man at the desk said they don't have anything to do with uhaul returns and said there was a drop box for the key outside. Good thing I didn't just drop the key in the box as he implied. Turns out there was a fairly elaborate process I had to go through on my cellphone first so it was lucky I checked. We were beat from moving all day and it was intense sun and HOT! I had to reopen the back of the truck and take photos of the condition of truck, dashboard etc. I'm a 66 yo female with hip and knee problems. I was under the impression that someone would help check out the truck in person like what had happened in the morning when we picked up the truck at True Value. My text said self checkout instructions were for 'after hours'. The business was clearly open. I was pretty unhappy with the unhelpful staff at this location and would not want to drop off there again. Poor excuse for 'service'.
Victoria DThey were closed. Uhaul and website said open till 1130. I was able to rent with the self check in and out, but had no idea that was the case. Called, had to download an app, then didn't work, called back so they could push out a code. Would have been prepared if I knew. The man on the phone that helped me was great! Very nice and patient.

Jillian MThis was an extremely difficult location to find. The signage was very poor, barely noticeable. The gentleman who helped me was pleasant, but didn't know too much about the rental.
Christine ZThe agent at the rental location could have cared less. When I told him I was there to rent a truck his reply was "It's all done on line". I had to find the lock box on my own. The UHaul app failed repeatedly. The error message was can't connect to the network. I couldn't return the truck electronically because the app failed again. I called UHaul for support and was disconnected after a 20 minute wait. I then contacted support via text support. That process was better but frustrating. The windshield on the truck was dirty. With better support all of this would have been a positive experience.
Daniel FThis place is useless. They are the most unhelpful people I have ever met. They made sure to let me know that I was bothering them and go the hell away. I would not send my worst enemy here to rent a truck.

bruce cThe gas was less than 3/4 a tank and I brought it back over 3/4 but apparently they scammed me and said it was more than what was there and we even confirmed it was less than 3/4 a tank when we walked the vehicle. It's was never discussed prior to me getting in the vehicle so how would they know how much gas it had. And the email says it's estimated not confirmed. So I was told $68 and then got charged $20 more that was not discussed. Will never rent again. Scam scam scam
Jennifer GThe vehicle was damaged when we picked it up. The damage was noted so we had no issues returning the vehicle but the damage created a very uncomfortable trip. The front windshield seal had extensive damage. The damage created a very loud noise in the cabin and the trip was 14 hours long. The seal damage also caused water to leak into the cabin during a rainstorm, making it difficult to see through the right side of the windshield

ROBERT WElectronic check in didn't work. The app wanted to use my location information. I allowed this, but the app still wouldn't let me check the truck back in. There should be a way to return the truck after hours if your app doesn't work.
ANDREW SI thought the mobile app would be easier and quicker however it was frustrating and time consuming. We ending up have to go in anyways. The man that helped us was super friendly and got us situated right away.
