I made a online pick up order, however, I dont have credit card, and when I arrived there at 3pm, they were nobody in there. the app told me to swip the card inside with the agent, the agent was not at the location at 3PM at the afternoon, then, a guy arrived and said that was a friend of him. he called him and told me that he was about to arrive in half an hour. at the end, I rented the truck an hour and 15 minutes after. it was cool AF outside and was a really dissapointed experience. btw, just for the fact that I dont have credit card. I had to wait this unbeliavable amount of time.

Had to wait over an hour at the location before getting the trailer that i reserved. Trailer had a flat tire and a broken wheel baring. It was not fit for the road but i had to take it as i was desperate at the time. Staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. Overall terrible experience. I have used uhaul at different locations before. Needless to say i will never come back here ever again.

The GPS never worked, I was trying to locate the point for 30 minutes, I was finally able to get out with the truck with the help of the person who works in the place, but there was a long line of people and I was able to rent my truck 50 minutes later. Please fix the GPS so the people can do the self-checkout.

Service was great! Fred helped me out with the rental, made sure I was comfortable with everything and off I went. Upon returning, he was there to greet me and issue the refund on my deposit within minutes and I was on my way. Definitely will use this location again. Easy to pull in, park and take a look at their inventory.

Hitch was stuck in ice, but managed to clear it and pull it out Trailer light connection extension was missing; but was quickly supplied. Great price. No issues.

This location is very understaffed. Only two guys working. Both of them were very helpful and friendly though. Had to wait in line for 30 minutes even though I had a reservation. The lot was full of slush and snow. The van was not clean at all.

The mobile pickup wouldn't work because we arrived slightly after our pickup time. Why have the mobile pickup option if it isn't flexible? Once we waited on hold to have the time reset, the mobile pickup wouldn't work because it said our GPS signal said we weren't in the right location. We double checked our settings, tried it again. No luck. We tried using a different phone. No luck. Checked those settings. No luck. We googled the pickup location and parked our car directly on the GPA coordinates indicated in Google maps and tried it again with both phones. It didn't work. Eventually we have up and waited another hour for the location to open to pickup the truck.

Mobile pick-up didn't work because my phone's GPS didn't recognize 87 Ethel as being the location of Empire Car Rental. I spoke to 3 customer services representatives and none of them were able to help me. I was told someone would call be back with a solution, but no one ever did. I ended up having to drive my car away from the lot (about a quarter mile away) in order to start the mobile pick-up process. It took me over an hour to figure this out, which meant I ended up paying for extra time that I wouldn't have needed in the first place. On top of that, the dollies I ordered were nowhere to be found. This was a very stressful and unnecessarily difficult experience.

Horrible experience. Changed my truck location last minute, truck was dirty, zero gas so it was the first thing I had to do, 3 hours into my booking, we got a call that they wanted the truck back for other customers even though we booked it appropriately, and they didn't have the equipment we had booked so had to figure out another solution. Absolutely brutal and will certainly be sharing this info on my social media.

One of the staff in the trailer was sarcastic and weird towards me for asking to keep the trailer door open during the interaction. That was uncalled for. We are all far enough into the pandemic that we should all be aware that better airflow reduces transmission; keeping the door open makes the interaction more accessible to people who may be higher risk interacting with others. The entire point of u-haul is that it may be an option for people who can't use commercial movers at this time. Anyway that part was quite annoying. Everything else was fine.

My experience began by receiving a notice less than 24hours prior to pickup that the vehicle will not be available as reserved. When picking up the vehicle the service was incredibly slow, myself and others frustrated waiting. Finally the vehicle had less than 1/4 tank of gas. Overall a regrettable experience.

You can make it so that your online system has ANY connection to the in person shops, you can warn people if the mobile system will work or not in advance, you can NOT change reservations hours before pick up, or don't show products as available when they are not, you can NOT charge hidden fees that were specifically declined by the customer, you can have customer service that actually answers their phones and/or helps resolve your issues in any way, you can have ANY idea of how things work in Canada (this is not Pheonix Arizona), the list goes on. Possibly one of the worst companies I've ever done business with, problems every single time, you're lucky to be the most widely available option for rentals otherwise you would have no customers.

I reserved a truck for one way rental - pick up at one location and drop at another. When I arrived the manager said that I had to return the vehicle to his location. Furthermore, the vehicle was not at the location that I selected online during reservation. 20 min drive in opposite direction. There needs to be better communication within your company.

1.Mobile check-in did not work (location services was ON) 2. Site is a mess 3. All four tires were underinflated (physical observation AND vehicle technology confirmed; U-haul rep tried to downplay my concerns before giving me another van). 4. Rep said replacement van was full of fuel; I pointed out it was only 7/8 full. He said he would correct records. 5. Added fuel upon return and gauge reading was between 7/8 and full. In other words, I returned it with more fuel than I received it with. Nevertheless, I was charged $7.89+tax for fuel!! 6. I have replied to U-haul re the incorrect invoice. Waiting for a reply. 7. Would you call this good service?

You should treat your clients better. I schedule to pick up the truck at Leslie and you send me 10 km far from home, which cost me an Uber to reach the location. When I get there, the staff is very unpolite, and they seem very stressed with all the clients they have there. The truck wasn't even there, I have to wait 15min. In the end, I heard that was very "luke to get that truck". Terrible experience.

Customer service person was nice but I could see how uncomfortable he could be making people as he was talking about Covid and denying. He also tricked us into paying for the coverage when we didn't need it (only saw when we looked at the receipt). It's a very confusing location to navigate and it's hard to find.

I picked up a truck for a move and when I drove across town I found it locked at the back! I phoned the office 6 times, no answer. I phoned 1-800 number and spoke to Annie. She was pleasant, but offered no solution. Went to another uhaul on Gerrard who reluctantly helped me only because I made a huge scene. This is a very short summary of a most disappointing experience.

Office is in a trailer and Service Rep was having problems with the internet connection. Service Rep did not offer to help hook up the trailer. I did not get a receipt when I returned the trailer and Service rep did not come out to help unload it or look at it. I was charged the day I returned the trailer then again got charged 3 days later for 3 more days. Why?? Can't get the location to answer the phone so I had to leave a message. I had to call the Customer assistance number only to get hung up on by the first agent. The second agent helped but also could not get a hold of the location. Customer Service ( Dimitri ) said he would call the Area Manager for resolution. I have not received an email customer complaint confirmation that was promised yet. Hopefully This will be reversed without having to make more phone calls and waiting for the next available operator.

U-Haul overbooked the vehicles at this location resulting in us not receiving the vehicle we had booked. Originally we were told we couldn't receive any vehicles, bearing in mind we were moving and had to book out elevators at both the building we were moving out of and the one we were moving into this was not an option. After making my point and pointing out there were plenty of vehicles in the car park we were given a van rather than the truck we had ordered, this resulted in much additional stress through having to do multiple trips rather than one and having to negotiate with both buildings to extend the windows we had originally booked, fortunately in the end this was possible, but your mistake made an already stressful day that much worse. If it wasn't for this error I would rate it highly as the staff were polite and friendly in trying to rectify the error and the van etc were in good condition, but not what we had ordered.

Possibly include the insurance in the initial quote, instead of making it an option at the end of check out . Doesn't allow for a accurate price until you have sorted through all the options . The price can climb much higher than anticipated.

We had a number of issues with our booking which were extremely stressful. U-Haul has a system with a ton of faults, some of which would be pretty simply to fix. The owner and workers at this location went above and beyond to help us out, so it ended well. Bottom line: U-Haul is a bad company that has excellent people working at it. Thank you to the people working there, and to the owner of this 87 Ethel Ave location.

I am used to making negative comments about u-haul for long waits, phone calls not being answered due to understaffing and guaranteed equipment falling through. However I was impressed with the staff at this location who were helpful and friendly. I will also comment on the design of u-haul equipment which makes it very good for moving or in my case transporting a car

Person who gave my boyfriend who was picking up the car (not the credit card holder or owner of the account) lied and said I had delayed getting insurance till pick up (I declined insurance). I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell insurance in this way and to get another person to agree to a charge on someone else's card.

There was only one employee working at open and 5 minutes before open there was already a line up outside of the trailer. (Understaffed?) The employee brought the truck to the front for us but didn't explain anything to us or say anything about it (like how car rental places usually walk around the vehicle with you and explain how it works) We planned on renting a furniture dolly and regular dolly (filled out the online order) but there were none at all. We were told this was because it was still early ( if we were one of the first people there shouldn't the equipment have been there?) It just seemed very unorganized. To be honest I'm also glad we actually ended up using all the boxes we ordered online because I don't even wanna think about the hassle it might have been if we had extra boxes and wanted to bring them back for a return, because of how unprepared the location felt.

Review and revise your mobile pick up system. There was a queue, entirely consisting of clients like myself who tried to book online and couldn't claim their truck without the help of an in person liaison. Support representatives were not helpful apart from providing a credit to a fellow customer and advising me to contact a different line (not helpful) when the app just didn't work as intended. Will avoid and warn others like the plague, the uhaul mobile reservation and pickup cost myself and numerous other customers a lot of collective wasted hours Sunday morning. Disappointed as this was my first time attempting to use the new mobile service.

The worker was rude. He took a personal call right in front of me and made me wait while he talked to someone about fixing up a house and getting drinks. I had the truck until 5pm and at 4:30 he called me 3 times to see why I wasn't back because he had the truck booked for someone else. It was very unprofessional.

Truck was cancelled last minute. I waited on hold for two hours and was passed back into the que by five reps! Stating that I needed someone from Toronto booking. Someone from another city helped me. I had an after hours phone pick up and they sent me to a location that doesn't do that! Luckily some dude that worked there just happened to be there and helped. When I went to check it in it said my location services wasn't on and it was. When I called to complain I was treated like all of this was acceptable.

Staff were rude and even though we reserved two dolly's (far in advance) we were given one that had no handle and had an electrical cable ties to it as a means of moving it. Our second dolly was given to the lady behind us because she requested one on the spot. Staff said it was "first come first served" which contradicted his actions as we had reserved them, were in line first and ended up with the faulty one. We then had to spend more to rent one from Home Depot. The truck itself had issues changing out of second gear resulting in significantly more gas used. Overall it was a bad experience and I won't be booking there again.

Fix. The. App. It 100% does not work. You can't actually return a vehicle using the Android version of the app. Or even in the browser. We had to download the app on my girlfriend's iPhone to be able to return the vehicle.

10 foot cube van was clean and in very good shape. V8 engine was super fuel efficient. Big yard makes for lots of room to maneuver during pickup and drop-off. Staff were fast and efficient.
