i am from revelstoke and had to book this trailer thru salmon arm which was a good experience. what was the bad experience and probably never going to rent again is that i had to return the trailer which was 29,99 for a 24hr period back to salmon arm......so 4 hours out of my way because the drop off where i live is an additional 1400 dollars......yes!! 1400 canadian dollars to drop it off in revelstoke which is 70ish miles away from salmon arm. this business is deserves to go out of business or........fix it!! i will never rent again until fixed!!CURT H.
First of all, I am less than impressed with Uhual's customer service. I had reserved a pull trailer 2 months before my pick up date. The lady who took my reservation mixed the pick up date, not once but twice! She put it in a month too early. Then I get a text message the day before pick up telling me that my pick up location has changed. Instead of picking it up in Vernon (where I reserved it!) I would have to drive to Salmon Arm to pick it up. This is ludicrous! What is the point of making a reservation!?! I was not happy that I had to rearrange my days to include driving 1,5hr to go pick up a trailer and back track 1,5hr to my loading spot. I will never use or recommend Uhual.Lindsay H.
When I dropped off the rental trailer I inquired about a reimbursement for the cost of the light cord that I had to purchase. I was informed that they didn't reimburse as they have stock their own cords.David D.

Booked pickup in salmon arm. No notifications received of any change. Then the day of reservation, attended to pick up vehicle and were advised pickup location changed to a different city. No texts and no emails were ever received to notify of the location change. Very inconvenient. Rep at salmon arm store was very helpful and was able to move the reservation back to salmon arm. Will never book online again with uhaul.RYAN G.

A month ago, I reserved a Uhaul truck in Kamloops to move my daughter 1 way from Kamloops to West Kelowna. I even spoke with a representative from the actual Uhaul center in Kamloops twice to confirm my truck would be there. The night before I was going to drive to Kamloops to pick it up, I got a call from Uhaul's main office telling me that my truck was ready for pickup in an entirely different city (Salmon Arm). I thought this was a joke or a very bad mistake but then found out that it is normal for Uhaul to make you go to a different city to pick up your rental vehicle. At that point I couldn't cancel and book with another company since it was the end of the month, and everything was booked solid, so I was forced to go to Salmon Arm early the next day to get the truck. You would never be allowed to do this to a customer in any other business. For instance, what if I booked a hotel room in Kamloops and they called me and told me that my room was available in a different city???? When I picked up the truck from Shelly in Salmon Arm, it only had Â¼ tank of gas in it. I drove it to Kamloops but when filling it up with gas to get me to West Kelowna I had no idea how much gas I needed to drive it full over the Coquahalla highway to my destination. Since there are very few gas stations along the way I filled up the tank -140 $. I ended up only using half of this so unfortunately, I left the truck in Kelowna with over 80 $of free gas. Uhaul should start you off with a full tank of gas and ask that you fill it up before returning it so you know exactly how much you need.Daniel M.

I think it was bogus that I had to pay for a full day at the end of an almost 2 week rental and I had to have the unit back by noon because it was the end of the month and they didn't want to miss out on another customer. Shelly went above and beyond my expectations in securing our needed 26 ft truck. I have rented numerous units from this location and have always been impressed by Shelly's knowledge and genuine caring for her customers.BARRY H.
I made my reservation 6 weeks in advance of pickup. I requested a pick up in Vernon BC and specified a certain location. However, I was aware that I may have to pickup at a different location. I had flown to BC from Ontario to pick up my belongings and move back to Ontario. I had no vehicle and planned on getting a cab to the location. The agent who made the original reservation made it for the wrong month. I had to revise the booking to reflect the proper month. The evening before pickup I received an email telling me that the pickup location was Salmon Arm this is 64 km from where I am, with no car. I called the 800 number and was very upset Taunya in Port Moody was the unlucky service rep who got mey call. Long story short, after many tears and her best efforts, I had to go to Salmon Arm or I didn't have a truck. She did provide 100km for the return trip to Vernon and offered an extra day. I declined the day as I knew I would not need it. I was able to get a ride but this was at an inconvenience to my friend as he had to work. So, we timed the trip so I would be at the pick up location upon their opening, which was 1/2 hour sooner than the scheduled pick up time. Unfortunately the agent was not at her desk and ready for work at 8:30 and indicated that I was wrong for being early. She also did not care that I had to accomodate a person giving me a ride. I sent a picture to corporate of the broken tail light on the truck. It was broken upon pickup and clearly marked with a sticker. The truck needed a frontend alignment or some other work as it had a mild vibration and pulled to the right. This is not the first time I used one way UHaul. My first experience was exemplary and I am very disappointed with this last transaction. The only good experience was the return of the truck in Peterborough.Leone R.

This Location NEEDS A JACK. It is ridiculous that there is no jack to assist connecting a 6x12 trailer especially when the owner/rental agent is a woman. She was lovely and helpful, but I hurt my back, BADLY. If it were not for a helpful passerby, we would of not been able to connect the trailer. A simple jack should be available and supplied!!!!!!!!!!!!!Philippe R.

Booked online... One small truck, one moving dolly, and a dozen moving blankets. Booking was confirmed. When I arrived to pick up the truck on the moving day ... confirmed rental truck was unavailable, no moving dolly available and no moving blankets available. I had to rent a larger truck than what was needed. Truck had dirty windows and the cab interior was very dusty. Not impressed.Greg O.
I originally reserved a 6x12 ft cargo trailer at the Vernon location. It didn't come in and the closest they could come to the trailer I reserved was a 5x8 ft and I would have to drive to the Salmon Arm location to get it. Unacceptable. The trailer I used was too small for the move I needed it for and the trailer blew one of my fuses for the trailer light.Henry P.

Make sure you have what they ordered weeks before. I ordered a 6x12 and got a 5x8. I had to put things in the truck bed and it rained. I had to leave things behind.Heather F.

The online U Haul support was excellent but the local dealer was no help at all. Although I made my reservation a month ago, I was referred to Locations over an hour away as Erics was not taking reservations. They opened up the night before My move. When I did get a smaller truck they made me check in with the APP despite the fact that they were in the office. It took 1,5 hours to get things straightened out on line with U Haul reps who were great. The Video did not tell me how to proceed with the APP. The key lock was stubborn to open and on and on. The only problem we had was converting the odometer from Kilometers to Miles . We had to call for help and were eventually able to work it out. It would have been nice to have a sticker in the truck explaining how to change it.Tim L.
My rental this last weekend went very well the pickup at Eric's wasn't very smoothly and Shelly was very helpful in every way. When I needed to extend my rental Kim in Florida was extremely kind, and professional. When moving it is good to know one can call U-Haul 24/7. Thanks very much.PAula S.

Front desk at the U-Haul in Salmon Arm is rude, crude and unprofessional. I will never use U-haul again, next time I will make sure I use Budget. Perhaps they treat customers so badly because we live where there isn't much competition.PAULA S.

The Salmon Arm location need to answer there phones every time I called I got there voice mail. So I called the 800 number to book. When I asked they said they have another business to run and get alot of tella marketer's. Also signage would be nice as I went to the wrong shop and waited only to be told it happens all the time and they have asked them put up signage on there door.DIANE M.

3 mnths earlier I rented from same location. Got the Ford with v10 was very happy as it performed well with the mountain terrain..and good fuel economy. This one was a older gmc it needs to be retired.. spent over 100 $more in gas same distance, brakes sticking, squealing, power steering not working unless vehicle moving.rough noisey ride, was worried that it would break down ..
