I made my reservation 6 weeks in advance of pickup. I requested a pick up in Vernon BC and specified a certain location. However, I was aware that I may have to pickup at a different location. I had flown to BC from Ontario to pick up my belongings and move back to Ontario. I had no vehicle and planned on getting a cab to the location. The agent who made the original reservation made it for the wrong month. I had to revise the booking to reflect the proper month. The evening before pickup I received an email telling me that the pickup location was Salmon Arm this is 64 km from where I am, with no car. I called the 800 number and was very upset Taunya in Port Moody was the unlucky service rep who got mey call. Long story short, after many tears and her best efforts, I had to go to Salmon Arm or I didn't have a truck. She did provide 100km for the return trip to Vernon and offered an extra day. I declined the day as I knew I would not need it. I was able to get a ride but this was at an inconvenience to my friend as he had to work. So, we timed the trip so I would be at the pick up location upon their opening, which was 1/2 hour sooner than the scheduled pick up time. Unfortunately the agent was not at her desk and ready for work at 8:30 and indicated that I was wrong for being early. She also did not care that I had to accomodate a person giving me a ride. I sent a picture to corporate of the broken tail light on the truck. It was broken upon pickup and clearly marked with a sticker. The truck needed a frontend alignment or some other work as it had a mild vibration and pulled to the right. This is not the first time I used one way UHaul. My first experience was exemplary and I am very disappointed with this last transaction. The only good experience was the return of the truck in Peterborough.
On my printed contract! It said 48 hour rental! I had to have it back in 27 hours! With our job being incomplete! The people were good! Just not my time allotted!
have more vans available however Shelley was courteous & patient a credit to your company. The location wasn't easy to exit & only eastbound..
This Location NEEDS A JACK. It is ridiculous that there is no jack to assist connecting a 6x12 trailer especially when the owner/rental agent is a woman. She was lovely and helpful, but I hurt my back, BADLY. If it were not for a helpful passerby, we would of not been able to connect the trailer. A simple jack should be available and supplied!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Booked online... One small truck, one moving dolly, and a dozen moving blankets. Booking was confirmed. When I arrived to pick up the truck on the moving day ... confirmed rental truck was unavailable, no moving dolly available and no moving blankets available. I had to rent a larger truck than what was needed. Truck had dirty windows and the cab interior was very dusty. Not impressed.
I originally reserved a 6x12 ft cargo trailer at the Vernon location. It didn't come in and the closest they could come to the trailer I reserved was a 5x8 ft and I would have to drive to the Salmon Arm location to get it. Unacceptable. The trailer I used was too small for the move I needed it for and the trailer blew one of my fuses for the trailer light.
The inside of the truck needed to be wiped down which did not appear to be done. We wiped the inside due to covid-19, I think a little more care needs to be done here.
Truck not in good shaoe air conditioner did not work. Poor customer service. Gas tank empty.
Make sure you have what they ordered weeks before. I ordered a 6x12 and got a 5x8. I had to put things in the truck bed and it rained. I had to leave things behind.
Make the online check in and return more streamlined. I kept getting bumped back to the beginning. And it is too long, too many steps.
The online U Haul support was excellent but the local dealer was no help at all. Although I made my reservation a month ago, I was referred to Locations over an hour away as Erics was not taking reservations. They opened up the night before My move. When I did get a smaller truck they made me check in with the APP despite the fact that they were in the office. It took 1.5 hours to get things straightened out on line with U Haul reps who were great. The Video did not tell me how to proceed with the APP. The key lock was stubborn to open and on and on. Make your phone app work better. It locked up mid rental. I was unable to upload pictures of the truck's damage before I took it off the lot. Other than that, all was good.
The only problem we had was converting the odometer from Kilometers to Miles . We had to call for help and were eventually able to work it out. It would have been nice to have a sticker in the truck explaining how to change it.
My rental this last weekend went very well the pickup at Eric's wasn't very smoothly and Shelly was very helpful in every way. When I needed to extend my rental Kim in Florida was extremely kind, and professional. When moving it is good to know one can call U-Haul 24/7. Thanks very much.
As soon as I arrived, they helped me disconnect the trailer. I was in and out within 5 minutes! ??
While the vehicle was clean, the transmission was quite awful. I understand these vehicles are from all over the map, but the one I had needs to have some work done. I will be using this service again, but will test drive the unit first.
Front desk at the U-Haul in Salmon Arm is rude, crude and unprofessional. I will never use U-haul again, next time I will make sure I use Budget. Perhaps they treat customers so badly because we live where there isn't much competition.

The Salmon Arm location need to answer there phones every time I called I got there voice mail. So I called the 800 number to book. When I asked they said they have another business to run and get alot of tella marketer's. Also signage would be nice as I went to the wrong shop and waited only to be told it happens all the time and they have asked them put up signage on there door.
We dropped off the unit outside of normal working days and only spoke to the agent on the phone. This was the 4th drop off at that location this year and always friendly and professional.
The phone system took time for me to figure out and although i had the rental returned on time for two days my card shows i was charged for 3 days! All because of the mobile return setup and trying to figure out how to turn on my location settings on cellphone to send Uhual!
I received an excellent service, from my first enquiry until the end. The employee was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Thank you.
