Angus F.Our issue was with the uhaul online set up. We signed up and chose a location in Gardendale called Moore Storage, our email reservation confirmation showed Moore Storage. We were supposed to receive a phone call from someone with Uhaul Thursday night to confirm the location and time with us for Saturday at 8am. No one called. We did the online check in and it said Moore Storage so my husband drove there and when he clicked “pick up my truck†it changed the location to Fultondale Mini Storage. I tried to call the customer service number and sat on hold. He finally just went to fultondale mini Storage. It was incredibly frustrating to have to change locations for no reason (Moore Storage had the correct rental we had requested, however our uhaul account wouldn't let him check in there.)

The lady who helped us was so kind and efficient. I wish I knew her name but she was great, much better than the experience we've ever had at Vestavia.

Went to the Fultondale 31 highway location. DOWN HILL FROM THERE Door Locked I called the emergency # Was quickly told " IM SICK" the woman on the phone told me that twice actually.. I said I have a reservation she huffed. Then told me to back up to any trailer.. When she got there she said NOT THAT ONE THAT ONE IS OUT OF SERVICE This is the 3rd time we've used this location.. It won't happen again BRAKE LIGHT OUT GOT PULLED OVER IN TRUSSVILLE Had a hard time getting door to pull down

Leon G.Everything in our case seemed to go wrong from the start. We were supposed to pick up a truck from a different location at 10:30 that morning. At 9:30, the first location called me to say that someone who had been renting the truck wasn't finished with it yet and they didn't know what time she would be finished. They got me set up with a different location nearby, I called the second location to confirm the reservation and she tells me that this truck has been reserved by someone else. I asked if she had anything else in the size range I needed, “nothing that's not reserved.†She says she will call around and try to find something else. After twenty minutes of not hearing back from her and knowing that we were going to be late to pick up the furniture we were renting our uhaul for, I called her back and she's no closer to any kind of answer. Since I wasn't getting anywhere with this second location, I took matters into my own hands and called a third location closer to where I was picking up my furniture to see what they had. I explained the situation and asked if they had the size I needed available. This third woman was bordering on rude, somehow didn't know what was available at her own location “because I'm working remotely todayâ€, but she did give me the number for their traffic/scheduling department where I spoke with Donna. Donna was very kind, found me the size truck I needed immediately, and told me to call her directly if I had any issues. I did have issues. It was a mobile pick up location and mobile pick up was very difficult and took forever (making us even later). I ended up having to call tech support who had to fix a glitch on their end (so no mistakes on my part!) Once the glitch was fixed, they needed to confirm my identity. What???? I reserved the uhaul on Thursday, this was Sunday! I had already added my ID to my account as well as payment info and an emergency contact, and now you want to confirm my identity when I'm already running 30 minutes late?! Donna gets five stars. The location gets four. Everything else about that day gets a generous two. I will not be renting a uhaul again. This was a fiasco that shouldn't have happened, could have been prevented, and could've been fixed even sooner if the people I had spoken with earlier in the day and gotten me where I needed to go and had actually helped me.

While this has nothing to do with the location; the online check-in process was absolutely horrible! It took me over one hour to complete the process. Extremely frustrating.
Neal S.I was upset because I originally wanted to rent from the five points west location. I have been utilizing that location for years. Every time I go there, there is always an issue. This time the location failed to put the key up so I could pick up my original reservation at 6pm. This put me entirely behind schedule. I was forced to change location and pick up in fultondale, which was totally off my route. I ended up using more mileage driving from and to the uhaul location. The home I moved to was a block away from my previous home and the five points location was a mile away from where I was doing this moving versus the 13 miles to go to fultondale.

CHERYLYN M.There was an issue on communication on our part. My boyfriend called the wrong fultondale location. I didn't know until the next day. Originally we rented for one day but he called and asked to rent for an additional day, he was told yes. But it was not the right location but he didn't realize that. I worked all day on Tuesday, 8am- 1015 that night and I had almost no breaks and I didn't really think about double checking with uhaul since he already called. Wednesday morning. I'm already at work and my phone is being blown up so I tell my client I have to step away for a min I answer and there is no hi ot hello it waa yelling from the start even said this is why I don't rent to people like you. It was a miscommunication on our part yes but why is it ok to say something like that. Was also told they will never rent to me again. No biggie. I don't plan on it if someone Is going to be that rude to me over a mistake, I won't come back

ralph W.I made my reservation online at Uhaul.com and ordered a 15 ft truck to be picked up at the Chevron location on Hwy. 280 across from the Summit Mall. on Jan. 31. On Feb 1 and 2 I received FOUR calls from Earnestine in the Bham Office cancelling that Hwy 280 offer to (1) Highland Avenue, in Five Points, (2) one 25 miles north of my home, (3) one on Tuscaloosa Ave, in West End that was an automated site with no personnel and (4) finally to the Fultandale location 15 miles north of my home. It is insane that your online order system allows customers' payments to be accepted but you do not have knowledge if there is a vehicle at the location I chose. I drove by the U-Haul located on Hwy. 31 on Monday and saw several 15-foot trucks. Why was I not directed to that location? The person (FEMALE) who served me at Fultondale Mini Storage was an EXCELLENT SERVICE PROVIDER. I consider U Haul rental outlets in general to be good. I doubt that will ever support U Haul online transactions again because of the horrible service we were provided. Please fix you online ordering system.

jeff D.While the person in the office was very pleasant, she had only been employed 3 days she stated. She had not been very well trained. We were in the office an extended period of time while her manager walked her through the check out process on the telephone.
