I picked up a tow dolley for trailering my car. The person who hooked the dolley to the u-haul truck did not offer guidance on how to attach the car to the dolley. He did show me when I asked him. I suggest it should be standard for the u-haul representative to give a short explanation of how to use the equipment. By the way, the dolley worked GREAT!! Thanks.

It was a very sketchy pick up. The building was a skeleton with simply 3 people on lawn chairs to rent the truck. It certainly was not my first choice

I would have given a 5 star if not for the hassle of the app struggling to identify location. I had to wait there for 1 hour figuring out with customer care, who are unable to help. At that point the agent at location arrived (earlier than store opening hours) and was able to unlock the vehicle from his device and help. The convenience of 24/7 share is meaningless if we have such nuisance or unable to get the truck during the move. So agents at UHAUL rock. UHAUL app/customer care and technical difficulties need to be resolved. Families trying to move should not be caught in these situations.

Where they rent the uhuals out of in this repair shop what ever is dirty......the area is very sketchy....the people U-Haul employee are very friendly though......this truck getting picked up had less then an eighth of a tank so to have to find a location close to get gas first off with a 26 foot U-Haul was kinda an inconvenience....always having to have pictures to back up all the little X's that mark damage is always needed as this second truck we rented had bumper and fender damage....

A horrendous experience. The address provided to us was 810 South Walnut St., Wilmington, DE. This address does not exist and is at the top of a bridge over the actual drop off location located on "Blue Coats Drive". The business was called "Glacier Auto" (which was not provided in the documentation). The entrance that I eventually found was completely blocked by construction equipment so I had to leave the vehicle in an adjacent parking lot and walk across a garbage dump to get to the key drop at Glacier Auto. After initially doing 2 loops around the area for about 45 mins and not finding the locaion I decided to try and drop the truck off at the 2920 Governer Prinze Blvd. location. The UHaul rep there said I could not drop off the truck there and that it had to be dropped off at the 810 South Walnut location and that if I left it with him I'd be charged several hundred dollars. I showed him the documentation that I received from the Monoroeville, PA location (where I rented the truck) stating that I could drop off the truck at one of several locations in Wilmington including his. But he refused to acknowledge it. So I went back to searching for 810 South Walnut. I was unable to call the 810 South Walnut location as it said "mailbox full". The other number I was given "1-800-90-UHAUL" was not in service. I was finally able to connect to a general UHaul number by dialing 411 on my phone. I spoke with representatives twice and was hung up on twice before finally reaching "Carmen". He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me directing me to the Glacier Auto location. He was the only person who told me that Glacier Auto was the business. The rep at 2920 Governer Prinze told me the 810 South Walnut drop off was at a "BP gas station". Even with Carmen on the phone and directing me it took 45 mins to find. Without Carmen I would have been completely stuck last night in the situation so amidst all the chaos he should be commended. But otherwise this was one of the most ridiculous, horrendous customer service experience I've ever have. All told it took me 2 hours and 45 mins to drop off a truck in an area where I was within a few yards of the location.

I want to be clear that the person I interacted with at the drop off location was friendly, courteous, and professional. No problems there. The problem is the location which is hard to get to to begin with and was made even more difficult by construction (which seems to have closed previously existing roads) and flooding. My vehicle GPS couldn't even find the location. Google maps was able to find it but gave directions that would not work from my location (northeast of the dropoff) because of a road that seems to no longer exist. Then there was the flooding that closed other roads. It would have been helpful if UHaul had flagged this location in its system so that it could provide additional information on how to get there. Perhaps the missing road will come back after construction is complete but the flooding is likely to continue so instructions on what to do in this event would be helpful long-term.

While the location was hard to find, had broken down cars and old rusty fences and was located beneath an over pass, the rental went smoothly and Paula was very sweet and helpful.

1. The pick up: Scheduled pick time was 10am. When we arrived the location stated they did not have a vehicle but that they would provide us with another so we went through the whole reservation process and did not get the van until 10:45 or so. 2. The website: We reserved the van for 4 hours and did run 30 minutes late getting back from PA. I called customer service and they told me that in order to drop off the key we had to go to the website and follow the steps for returning the car. That was the only option. We did not know there was a whole process to create an account in order to drop off the key. For whatever reason my husband could not log into the account from his phone so I had to drive from my house to the location in order to go through the phone process on my phone. Once at the location and signed in we were able to enter the mileage and the gas amount but when we tried to take a picture the website just stopped working. We did call customer service and they were able to complete the drop off process via phone. It would have been great to know that we could have done that from the start. 3. The dropbox: We thought we were in the clear and all we had to do was drop off the key in the metal box and sure enough the keyfob did not fit into the dropbox. We then had to be on a call with customer service for another half hour just to get permission to drop off the keys the next morning. The whole drop off process took us 2 1/2 hours. We did not finish until 6pm. Awful experience for just being 30 minutes late.

After discussion at the East Stroudsburg location we were told it would be cheaper to return the truck to Wilmington, DE instead of Milford, DE on August 16, 2018. So, we chose a location off of highway 13 in Wilmington because we had heard of that road and thought it would be easier to return the truck there. Despite 2 different GPS devices we spent over an hour trying to locate the Glacial Auto U Haul location. TWO different GPS devices pointed us to a construction site. At no time did we see a U Haul sign or ANY sign that explained where 810 S. Walnut St. Wilmington, DE was located. We did NOT have the business name of Glacial Auto on the contract, we only had 810 S Walnut St. We literally drove back and forth making loops trying to find the business. We called, but we were only able to get through twice, but the directions were still unclear as we thought the girl told us SUNRISE TIRES when it was DUN RIGHT TIRES. The Glacial Auto business was secluded and obstructed by a road construction site and was NOT directly next door to DUN RIGHT TIRES. We did not see ANY signs and after driving into what seemed to be a dead end industrial area ,we then saw only 1 U Haul van indicating the possible location. We were concerned that we had driven more than an hour to find the place and therefore adding more miles which I was required to pay. We questioned the secretary and the owner's brother, Leon, about why there were NO signs posted on route 13 for U Haul. Leon explained that the business had requested a sign many times from corporate and corporate has refused to honor their requests for a sign. He said that the business was cut off from route 13 due to road construction years ago and that Wilmington will not allow the business to put up their own signs and that U Haul has not assisted them either. I am appalled that a small business owner involved with a U Haul franchise is not able to obtain the proper assistance in advertising his U Haul business. We believe that it is UNFAIR that we need to be charged for additional miles upon returning the rental. Leon explained that he has no control over that and that is the decision of the corporation. The secretary did place a call to a number and left a message on our behalf however she was not able to reach anyone by phone. Since we had already wasted half a day trying to return the vehicle we did not want to wait on -site. It is doubtful that we will ever rent another product from U Haul in the future due to inadequate supporting of services and locations. Leonardo and Wanda Jerez 302-538-3573

Due to construction, and not being familiar with the area we had a bit of a problem finding the location. We contacted the pickup location and they were very helpful in getting us to them. Check out was a breeze, and the people on premises were very friendly!

The service was great here - very friendly and helpful personnel! The only problem, as I've also read on other reviews, was finding the location, so... coming from Rt. 495, go towards Wilmington on S Walnut, cross the bridge, make a left at the light just past the Shop-Rite, go to the light and make a left onto Market St, bear right at Wilmington Glass (do not go back over the bridge), follow the road past Dun Rite Tires and find your way under the bridge. Glacier Auto will be on your right. It's that easy!

Our experience with U-Haul as a whole was not the best. We had to drive to three different locations the day of to get a truck we reserved a week in advance. They changed our pick up time by four hours and we ended up picking up 50 minutes away from where we were moving from. I'm not sure where the miscommunication came from but we were not very happy with our experience.
