Deryel D.The owner didn't walk me around the vehicle or show me the mileage or turn on for me. After the owner left, i saw messages on dashboard!!!! One was for the passenger rear tire being at 20 psi!!! And the other was “oil change required “!!!! I had to fill that tire 4 times!!!
Deborah R.The process to do a virtual pickup was fairly long - the personal verification process said it needed "extra verification" even after uploading a selfie and copy of my driver's license. I called into the uhaul number and was told the verification group wait time was 20-30 minutes. The drop off process done thru the app also had glitches. I uploaded pictures of the mileage and gas and still the process would not complete.

Matthew S.I was informed after arriving that I needed to go to a local auto parts store to purchase a electrical adapter. I was not given the information on type and needed to describe what I saw. There was not locks to secure the trailer to the hitch
Mike T.I was unaware of the additional mileage charge and understand it but was also unaware of the CDW charge for $10.00. Was not aware of this prior to picking up the rental. There was very little room to leave a parked car at the location.
Kevin B.I hate to be this blunt about any business, but frankly this location was an absolute dump. The front and back parts of the building were barely navigable due to the number of scrap cars left sitting rusting on the lot. The facility itself was dilapidated and not up to the same standard as literally any other uhaul location I have rented from. The vehicle itself that I was rented at this location was very old, and it became very clear upon driving it on the highway that it has not been properly maintained. Regardless of whether the vehicle was in tow mode or not, the transmission had such issues that it sounded as if a propeller plane was taking off, and the hard clunking that I and my passengers heard and felt made us afraid that the engine was going to break apart during our drive. When the propeller/airplane sound was at its worst, we could smell exhaust and/or other fumes come into the cab, to where we had to drive with the windows rolled halfway down to ensure we weren't getting headaches while driving. The vehicle could NOT get up to speed on the road, which caused VERY unsafe driving situations as drivers darted around us as we struggled to get to and maintain speeds of 40 and 50 mph. I was supposed to have this vehicle for 26 days, but my passengers and I were so afraid and felt so certain that this truck would break down and strand us during this period that I returned it only 2 days after picking it up. And, given that it was indicated to me at the time that this was the only available option from UHaul for a vehicle of this size for the time period I needed it, I felt I had no choice but to change my plans completely, and instead rent a cargo van for a week-long period and then rent a truck from a completely different business for two weeks after the van gets returned. This has cost me more money and wasted precious time. I have been renting from UHaul for years, and this is one of the worst experiences with a vehicle I have had with this company. This is the absolute last time I will rent from the Grace Auto location in Palatine, because it is now clearly obvious that I cannot trust any vehicle from this location. I am extremely tempted to ask for a credit to my account given this rental experience, and I **STRONGLY** encourage UHaul to stop this business from renting Uhaul vehicles and tarnishing your good business name by renting dilapidated equipment from a run down and dirty facility.

Daniel K.Service was awful. I had to wait 90 minutes between when I scheduled my equipment pickup, and when I actually got it. Severely put me behind schedule. I played so much “phone-tag†with UHaul team members, and waited on hold for so long, it was ridiculous. Not to mention that the UHaul website kept refusing to work on the day of - It loaded fine, but every time I tried to select ANYTHING, it kept saying “Please turn on your location†(It was on the whole time), or “Error, please try again†countless times. Horrible customer service. I'm using a different service next time, considering the amount of frustration and unnecessary waiting I had to deal with just to get the equipment I had already reserved.

SCOTT L.The software in the uhaual website takes you for a walk. it asks you to locate the vehicle first and then tells you to go and get the key for vehicle. in this location the vehicle and the key were in opposite ends of the building. it would have been better if the website had showed both the location of vehicle and key at the same time; so that people would not have to walk back and forth. Nevertheless the details in the website and the location were accurate and easy to follow. thanks for this.
Hariharan S.Fix the app. I couldn't return the vehicle on the app. It would not allow me to upload a photo of the odometer and fuel and refused to let me go any further in the return process. I finally figured out that I could go to your website and return the car that way.
