I was supposed to pick up my truck in Delaware and even though I confirmed via phone that I would pick up the truck at 7am the keys were not left in the dropbox and there were no moving pads available. I had hired movers to help at 8am and I spent almost an hour on hold with UHaul trying to find another truck so that I wouldn't waste money or time with the movers. Luckily I managed to secure a different truck but couldn't get it until almost 9am so I ended up losing money by paying movers to help when I didn't even have a truck yet. I was quite unhappy with UHaul that day and it made moving a lot more stressful.Margot F.

Mechanically the van was great. The interior however, was very dirty, with dried mud all over the floor, as well as crushed potato chips and food remnants. Also, the vehicle was covered in inches of snow and ice with no tool provided for removal. I had to use my hands for removal. I would expect these things to be taken care of prior to my rental.Shane E.

The automated check in process was horrible, I waited for 45 minutes until until they got it right. The vehicle I rented needs new front tires, they're practically bald, I didn't feel safe on the highway in the rain.David I.

Worst U-Haul experience. Front of truck was not only dirty but stunk like cigarettes. I come home to open the back to find construction debris, drywall pieces and what looked like feces smeared on the wall. It smelled like garbage and spoiled milk in the back. I called the location and he said â€œwe don't check themâ€ and there was no other trucks available. Will never rent from this location again.Susan A.

The original pickup spot was changed from a location 2 miles from my home to this location which was about 20 minutes away! Other than the inconvenience, the pickup location was fine. The vehicle was new and turned out to be very reliable and the right size for our move.Ronald B.

I wanted to make sure I wrote a review after reading some of the previous reviews which made me very anxious to rent from this location. The pick up process took about 15 minutes and was relatively simple. The truck was very clean and ran beautifully, it was practically new! The return process was very smooth. The two employees I interacted with were both accommodating and kind. I would recommend renting a U-Haul from here to anybody in the area!Emma W.
Truck was not swept out or cleaned. There were used blankets in the back. I am sure this is not in Covid procedure compliance. I reserved blankets, but none available other than a few used blankets as noted. 2nd u-haul in two weeks, first one in AC had no furniture or regular dollies that were in the reservation. It is hit and miss with U-haul.david S.

He was rude. My reservation wasn't set up properly in his system so he cancelled and then co run yes to take breaks because he had customers in line. He didn't do a walk around or inspect with me when I picked or when I dropped off and then told me I'd be charged an additional day. With stress from covid and moving it was a very unpleasant experience.KRYSTLE H.

Due to my lack of experience with U-Haul, I didn't make a reservation online. Instead I went to the rental location to inquire about renting a pick-up. The young man was very nice and helped me by making the reservation online for me. It took a while since he was the only one working that location (a gasoline and quick-mart site) and many customers had to be waited on during his efforts to make my reservation. I appreciate his help and now know what I need to do to speed up the process next time. I will definitely rent there again. Good experience and a great pick-up truck.Larry B.
Initially, after I inspected my reserved truck, I went in to get my key. I was told the truck that I just inspected was not there. I proceeded to tell the cashier that I just inspected the truck, and that it was there. He rudely insinuated that I was lying, and that I wasn't listening to him, and that the truck wasn't there. After several attempts to get him to look at the truck in the parking lot, he finally looked at it. He then proceeded to check the drop box for the key where he found the key to it. He then attempted to input the truck info into his iPad, and told me that I would have to reserve a different truck. He then called someone and spoke with them in a foreign language for about 15 minutes, so I told him that I wanted the key so that I could finish my pickup. He let me check out the truck, and when I came back in he told me I was free to take the truck. It took over an hour to get the key for my truck. Then after that drawn out process, I receive an email with the terms, and find out after paying 1 100 $that I'm not allowed to transport my firearms in the truck, so I had to arrange another person to take 3 days of their time to move my guns. This is absurd, I will never use U-Haul again, nor will I ever recommend you to anyone. A couple hours later, I receive a text from you saying that my drop off location is changed to an hour away from the agreed upon location. The customer service person said that the location I was originally quoted, is not accepting drop offs. After several phone calls, I end up getting ahold of the original drop off location and they tell me that yes, I can drop the truck off there! Do you guys even know how to run a business?Richard J.

It took over 40 minutes to be able to access our account to pickup our truck. This location does not have a computer system where you can switch from 24/7 share to pickup in the store. Took over 20 minutes for customer service to help.Walter K.
This truck was defective. I had have it towed because it could not go up my steep driveway. then, I parked on a hill and could not drive forward to leave the parking space. Because it had no power. I had to wait until the person parked behind me moved so that I could roll back to reach a portion of flat pavement do that I could get up the hill with a running start. I could have been in an accident, but uhaul left me no choice, because you refused to come out for roadside assistance the second time this happened. It was a new van, so there is no excuse. I used to like UHaul, but I probably won't use UHaul again.steven L.

The clerk at the station had never accepted a trailer for return, did not know what to do. She texted someone, after about ten minutes of no reply, she called but got no answer. She still did not know what to do, so she decided to take down the basic Information from a truck return form on a scrap piece of paper leaving out the gas and mileage. We had to unhitch the trailer ourselves and push it into a parking space. No one else was around to help.Stuart G.
The person doing the rental was amazing in face of the problems caused by the company. Although we had a online conformation the company had not entered it so the rental agent could not do anything. We had to return later in the day and even that took 20 minutes. The company does not support their agents. The truck was also dirty on the inside. Although we drove 35 miles we needed more than 4 gallons of gas to fill it so it could not have been filled before. Very bad experience.peter L.

Your rental procedure is absolutely MISERABLE. I was forced to use my cellphone to try to upload pictures of my driver's licence using your crappy, unstable software. I did everything correctly and your software crapped out 3 different times. Other people trying to rent trucks had the same problems. If you want people to rent your stuff, make it so that the people at the store copy the license and do the uploading. It took me over 90 min to rent the damn truck. That 90 min pushed the end of our move into rain. The whole experience REALLY SUCKED.Bruce Q.

I will never in my life rent a uhaul again the rental place was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my whole life tried to charge me 200$ for five hours and I only used 27 miles never again!!!! Dear U-haul No one from U-haul tried to reach me. No one called me. No one emailed me. This is a false statement. I am not happy to receive a late return email from U-haul. I called U-haul twice after returning my rental on time. I dropped off the rental at the same location and same day as I picked it up. I tried to use your app to pick it up. It didn't work. I spoke to a cashier in the Landenberg Sunoco. He said that the internet connection was down and had to call U-haul before he could give me my key. I had to text my driver's license to a link texted to me by U-haul. The cashier gave me a key with no paperwork. I also used your app to return it. I shared my location and then it instructed me to drop off the key in the key drop. I picked it up on August 10, 2019 and returned it on August 10, 2019 at 9:30pm. I returned it with the fuel level at the same level that I picked it up. I find it very annoying that U-haul trucks are never full and then you have to return it with a partial tank. This is inconvenient and annoying. I took pictures of the instrument cluster before and after I dropped it off at Landenberg Sunoco in Landenberg, PA. This is the same location that I picked it up at. I called U-haul twice. Once on August 10th because the app did not show that it was dropped off. I spoke to someone who transferred me to another line. However no one picked up after 10 minutes of waiting. I called the next day. The person I spoke to said that someone at Landenberg Sunoco has to enter in the information. I did everything that was expected of me. I reserved it online using the app. I tried to pick it up and drop it off using the app but the app looks like it did not complete the transactions properly. I purchased had for it and returned it on the same day, August 10th. I called U-haul twice to let someone know that I returned it. I am not happy with this rental experience. I will not use Landenberg Sunoco again. I had a much better experience using Michael Cole Enterprises in West Grove PA. I attached 3 photos to these email. 2 photos are of the odometer and fuel level. 1 photo is of the truck parked at Landenberg Sunoco. Had to handwrite my name, phone number, mileage, fuel tank, and security code from my credit card on a sheet of paper. Unclear why this was needed if I did a mobile check in, and I additionally felt very uncomfortable writing down my information when this could have been directly entered into a computer.Alexis B.

This location did not have dollys or furniture pads, yet U-Haul sent me 13 miles to pickup the truck. I later found out my preferred pick-up location, which is only 1 mil away, had the size truck I needed PLUS furniture pads and dollys. I would note recommend UHau to anybodyED W.

This gas station should not be handling uhuals, they seemed uninformed on the pick up process and said they're computers were not working so I spent 45 minutes waiting for them to figure it out only to be told I need to manually check in. I would not recommend renting from here, this was not my first choice of pick up locations but the only one available at the time I needed.Sarah J.
Got redirected to landenburg at last minute, way out of way which ended up costing me more time ,mileage and gas ,very disappointed with final costs,and there computer was down when I got there so add another 30 mins to my daymichael D.
Do not have uhaul locations at gas stations. I showed up for my SCHEDULED uhaul reservation at 9am at the landenberg gas station, and the employee said â€œI don't know how to do this, come back at 2.â€ There was no sympathy for the planning we put in for moving. Horrible experience, and will mention to others to avoid uhaul.Sean S.

I arrived after the place was closed. There was no drop box to put the key. I left the truck there and dropped off the key the next morning before work. The location was great in that it was near my house and I did not have to go way out of my way to drop off.Robert K.

The truck was in good condition. Unfortunately, even though I completed the express check out information, the person at the station didn't know how to rent the truck. Was quoted 45 $for 15 mile trip. Gentleman asked if I needed one way or round trip, I told him round trip. Arrived at drop off location with 26 miles, correct amount of gas in tank, and the drop off location could not find me in the system. They asked for my name and number and had me along the way and that I would be billed "at some point". An hour later I received a phone call from the drop off location informing me that since I dropped off in another state that my new rate would be 112 $unless I drove it back to the original state.... this sounded like a hassle so I said the 112 $would be fine to pay and that was the end of it. 2 hours later I receive an electronic invoice from U-haul for 260 $. I called customer service and they answered immediately and placed me on a hold. After about 10 minutes she returned to our call. I have her my name and she annoyed asked what she could do for me. The lady had an attitude that could be perceived through the phone, probably not the best role for her to be in. I explained my problem and she tried to argue that I had booked a round trip and was to return the vehicle to the original location or else be charged hidden fees in the electronic contract. I told her this was not correct and that I had booked a one-way trip. She (u-haul rep) then saw that I did indeed only book a one-way trip and said that a rep would call me in the next 72 hours. This is not the type of service one would come to expect from national brand. This is not okay. I firmly believe we need to retrain the original location, find a new role for the customer service rep (who clearly has a distaste for her current position), and refund me down to a reasonable rate for the services provided. 26 miles is not worth 260 $.Jaime S.
