Paula PU-Haul switched our pick-up location from the U-Haul center on Rose street in La Crosse, WI to Lauderdale Auto on George Street in La Crosse, WI. Our reservation was switched the day before our rental began. We were given no other information other than the address change. When we arrived for our scheduled pickup time at 09:00 on 6/1, Lauderdale was closed. We saw that there was a lockbox out front with the U-Haul keys inside, but U-Haul did not give us a link and/or a code for us to get our keys. We could not get in touch with Lauderdale, and it took us almost a half an hour to get in touch with our region's assistance line at U-Haul. We ultimately went to the Rose Street U-Haul location (where our reservation was to be picked up initially until the day before) to ask for help. Staff was apologetic for our situation but completely unhelpful. Phone assistance was unhelpful when we finally got in touch. Finally, an employee for Lauderdale arrived at 10:00am and we were able to pick up our reservation an hour late. The truck was mostly clean, but a used flossing toothpick was left behind on the dash which was disgusting. The truck did not have a lock on the back either.

Trygve NIt was a sunday and the first time I picked up a truck with no staff on site. So I had to use an app to follow the instructions to pick up the truck. I couldn't get internet service so I had to walk across the street to the restaurant and log on to their service. Luckily one of the staff members showed up at the site even though he wasn't scheduled and he processed me 45 minutes later into my truck. The staff person was great, the location I'm sure works for lots of other movers.
Danna HThe guy hooked up tow dolly with emergency brake on. He also told me the turn signals were backward and that it was the wiring on my plug in on my RV that was wrong. I told him that they were correct on my trailer and a previous dolly we rented but he said it couldn't possibly be the dolly. IT WAS! I thought the dolly didn't look right but I figured he knew what he was doing and maybe had to switch the lever after hooking it up. I was halfway down the highway when I knew there was something wrong. Then we had to call customer service and she sent a towing company with a replacement. (Side note, the lights worked fine on new dolly). Needless to say it put us several hours behind schedule. This man should not be renting equipment if he has no clue what he's doing. Someone could get hurt. Thankfully I figured out what was wrong, of course it was fairly obvious. The customer service woman was excellent however.
Fred LLocation is small and easy to miss. It is an auto repair garage and detailing location so it's just not fancy. Personnel was really helpful and friendly.

Doug Kpaperwork stated that I was dropping of truck in Madison Wi. due to a mix up on U-Haul part. Lauderdale Auto Repair tried to fix this issue, Had issues dropping truck off.
