customer service sucked. my 65 year old grandma went to pick up the uhaul trailer with her truck and was expecting someone to help her, she had to say how she wanted a refund before someone helped her with the trailer.

bill cAlthough the personnel at the location were outstanding, the online and telephonic customer service representatives were not. The first time I called I tried to get pricing, but had to go through every step to reserve before I received pricing. The second time I decided to make a reservation online. The system said the dolly was available, so I didn't proceed I simply went to the new location and even though the dollys were sitting outside I was told that I could not rent because they were already reserved. When I inquired as to why the online system showed them available, they had no answer. Then I decided to call a 3rd time and reserve online. I got the reservation made and went to the location, then was able to get the dolly rented. My issue is with customer service on line. My first time calling the representative tried to do a "hard sell" on getting me to rent the dolly even though I was simply asking for pricing. My second time I tried to rent the dolly, the rep at the location on Port Avenue said she couldn't rent to me even though the online system said it was available, the rep said they were not since they were reserved. At the third location, the rep was knowledgeable and helpful. I believe some training should be done with your online reps as well as location reps. Also the UPCHARGE or SAFEY CHARGE of $8 was never discussed as an option, simply an add on. Why not just make your rates at $53 vs $45 + the $8 "SAFETY CHARGE" that shows as an option, but you cannot take off. This is deceptive as far as I'm concerned. Just make it a simple rate of $53!
Jesus EUpon returning tow dolly, was told they could not close contract due a system issue. Did a self return via online. Took pics and went through the whole process. Once finalizing, it read that I would receive receipt vis email. I've yet to receive receipt.

Stephen BThe parking lot was terrible. It was unpaved with high grass and lots of pot holes and large concrete peices scattered randomly. There are snakes and trash and nails etc in the lot. I won't go to this place again. The trailer did not come with any type of jack and I strained my back lifting it up over my trailer hitch. The tongue on the trailer was stuck three times before it was forced on. The price of this experience was the only thing I think that makes any of this worth it. Overall it sucked.

rudy gI never received a confirmation call the day before my rental. The day of my rental, I called the location 3 times with no answer, I then called UHaul and one of the customer service reps tried to call them and didn't get an answer either. When I showed up at the location and told them I tried to call, the response was "Oh yeah we sometimes get busy and just don't answer the phone." The location was missing half of the equipment I reserved. They called one other location to see if they had any of the equipment I rented and when that location said no, they told me that they could find any and that I should call the other locations around town to see if they had some. When I showed up, the first truck they gave me was extremely dirty and smelled like someone had been smoking in it. The staff made me hook up the car hauler by myself and never came out to inspect it or offer to help. They only had one car hauler at the location and the tire strap for strapping down vehicles was ripped off but the staff had no clue. They wiring for the tail lights on the car hauler were broken and just hanging down. Thankfully someone pulled in to return a new truck and car hauler as I was getting ready to leave so I was able to take that one. Overall terrible customer service and I left there very frustrated with UHaul.
Justin GAn offsite location like this has to do a better job of maintaining the vehicles. Not only was our van dirty inside and out but the driver's side mirror was broken. Also the gentlemen in the store are not u-haul employees and therefore they don't really know all the protocols. Because of that there was a discrepancy in the starting mileage and created more headaches for me when I turned a vehicle in.

Albert LWhen I first arrived the owner said I can not take the trailer unless you can get it against the fence. Kept saying Uhaul knows when it rains I have a dirt lot. I asked is there somewhere else around here to return and he said no. I told him I would get it where it needs to be. I put the trailer where he wanted with no help from him. I then went into store to tell him it was there and I need to get it checked back in. He said he was busy and didn't have time. Said he would send me an email. I turned the trailer in 2 days early and never got the return email. I called Uhaul 3 times to let them know trailer was returned but the business never checked it in. I went back to return location yesterday and finally got the trailer checked in. This was a nightmare, I will definitely not be using that location again and I would suggest Uhaul visit that location.

mary dI was up charged on my rental and the owner refused to let me leave without insurance.. Also there was a lock on the truck and we had drive 20 miles out of our way to go get someone who had bolt cutters too cut off the lock ourselves!!! I will definitely not ever use U-Haul again.. My 300 rental turned into 583!!!!! I called customer service and was told to file a complaint but that was all they could do!!

MARTINA CWhen I received my trailer there was a nail in the tire and the tire was already flat due to that, I couldn't tell until I went to tow the intended vehicle. I paid to fix the trailer myself and I was infact reimbursed for that on my finalized ticket.

I was sent 20 miles away from my destination to pick up the U-Haul when there was one right next door to our furniture pick up location. It's our first time using U-Haul and probably our last. Really disappointed with service.

Matthew HI ordered my UHaul at the beginning of August to move the 27th at 5AM at the location on Kostoryz. The day before moving they called me to tell me they don't have a truck at that location, so I had to drive to leopard st. 20 minutes from home to pick up the truck. I asked them to push my time to 6AM since I have to drive so far to pick up. We got there at 6AM the day of and I tried to mobile 24/7 pick up. It didn't work and said I had to wait for the food mart to open at 7AM. We waited an hour. 7 rolls around and nothing store is closed. I called the 800 number and spoke to someone about my situation. She gave me another number to call (local reservation number) to find another truck in my area. It's 7:30 but his time and still no one at the food mart. The lady said the person who was supposed to set up 24/7 lock box didn't do it. She said either go to robstown and pick one up or wait another 10 minutes for the food mart to open. This whole experience was upsetting, frustrating, and just plain bad. I reserved a truck 3 weeks in advance there is no reason why I shouldn't have had it the day of at the place I ordered it.

SAMUEL GHorrible service. Told me she couldn't find the rental. Then told me she would have to re create the lease agreement. She then told me that the $25 insurance was selected. I told her everything had been arranged by my husband and should be on the original agreement. The quote on line was a little over $90. I ended up having to pay over $125. The location where trailers are kept was very muddy and full of ruts. I feel she deleted or omitted the lease done by my husband ahead of time. I had a confirmation number and she continued to tell me she couldn't find it. Took forever and to be honest, I felt arguing with her would do zero good. The location is very subpar and questionable.
lerhrea SI was given a limit of 97 miles, requested to drop unit off in the town I live in, was okay'd by the clerk. Then received an email to deliver it 30 miles out of town... therefore I went over mileage and had to pay for the extra. Did not appreciate that at all.

Phillip DFirst off your website sucks. I tried to do the time change from there and it kept going to the home page. So I had to call and the girl I spoke with said....yeah they want you to call in. Then SAY that on your website! Second I had to call to make a time change to pick up this last saturday and called on Thursday to make the time change from 10am to 8am Was also informed the address I chose to pick up the U-haul which was 5 minutes from my daughters house has now been moved 30 minutes from my daughters house and in the Ghetto! So I get there Saturday and not sure why you let this guy have a contract with U-haul! I didn't know I had to pay U-haul and load a trailer myself. YES he told me to go load the trailer MYSELF. and then pull up so he could take a picture. Absolutely horrible!
Amanda RThey called me 30 minutes before time to pick it up the uhaul and say to pick it up at a new location at a food mart that was about 20 miles away. The pick up place close at 6pm so I had to drive 20 miles the next day to return the uhual. They had big rock in a pot hole in the place where I had to pick up the uhaul . I ran into the pot hole and damage my my suv. I had to take it to the shop to have it repaired
Clinton GThe trailer had a tire that was loosing tread which i saw on a fuel stop. That cost me a 2 plus hour delay on the road. The roadside service program needs much improvement but the personnel behind it are very kind and helpful. I believe that the system is overwhelmed. The repair guy was a gem, replaced both tires and wheels in under 20 minutes. Outside of the tire delay my experience was a positive one and I will gladly rent a trailer again from the same location.
