Took a few minutes for staff to come to the counter when obtaining and returning truck; however, Ms. Diane was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with and made this experience delightful! She is AWESOME!

Using the automated pick up process does not work well here. I first went to the rear of the store where the trucks are located. But the app did not recognize I was at the correct location. I had to drive to the front of the store to start the pickup process. Then I had to drive to the back of the store to locate the truck. There is no key box so I had to drive to the front of the store and go in to get the key. Then I had to drive to the back of the store to get the the truck and go. If it hadn't been so painful it would have been funny. Fortunately the return process worked okay. I returned the truck to its original location and followed the check in steps. And someone came right out and took the key.

The pick up process was smooth, easy and efficient. ** The drop off experience was less than desirable, VERY frustrating, inefficient and difficult to the point I had to take extra time and make an extra trip to the drop off location in order to complete the vehicle drop off process. **

No issues with Uhaul or their personel. Moving Help on the other hand is a joke. I received a confirmation email but they didn't show. When I contacted them I got excuses instead of help. I needed help. I was forced to load the truck by myself. This caused a late return which incurred additional charges. Why offer it if they can't meet the need. People plan moves to the wire. 1 fail ruins the move. Worst part is, is nobody cares.

A 24/7 rental was reserved but was unable to pick up at 6:30am. Had to wait for store to open at 9am, and the wrong vehicle was assigned. New contract was drawn to coincide with original reservation. Lost 3 hours of moving time. Where is the guarantee?

Truck was not ready. All of the blankets, cart, and dolly were not in the back. If my ride had not stayed it would have been a 10-15 minute walk to get the keys. Truck was dirty.

Peninsula Ace Hardware saved me when the location in Richmond (Scott's Addition at the Diamond), where I had first made my reservation, screwed me over. I had made a reservation to pick up a truck July 31 when I flew into the Richmond Airport. When I arrived I received a message from Scott's telling me the vehicle would not be available until Aug. 2. I was told the fault was mine for reserving a truck so close to the end of the month. I would have thought the fault was with the facility for accepting a reservation that they could not fulfill. It was a frustrating and unsatisfying experience, only redeemed by the very helpful and competent folks at Peninsula Ace Hardware.

This is not the location I picked or the size of truck I picked. I was moved to several locations after I "reserved" the truck and location I wanted because I was told "after confirming the reservation" that they didn't have anything, then I was transferred to another facility to called to tell me they didn't have anything until I was finally connected to this location. Poor customer service with UHaul and I didn't get what I wanted and it cost me more money.

The evaluation for being clean was unclear. I was charged 25 $dollars because I thought the floor was a little dirty. This I was a little excessive.

I do not have a smartphone. Please provide an option for verifying equipment condition and for after-hours drop off that does not require one. I was charged for an extra rental day for after hours drop off because of this.

I live near Yorktown VA. I reserved a truck 3 months ago. Two days prior to the pickup day, UHaul told me I had to pick up the truck in Portsmouth VA, almost 40 miles from my home. When I got to Portsmouth, they didn't have a truck available to rent and said I had to go to Williamsburg VA to rent a truck, which is almost 60 miles from Portsmouth. There was nothing wrong with the Williamsburg location but UHaul sure screwed up big time with my reservation.

Truck was exceptionally clean and in good condition. Very happy with truck handling, gas mileage, and range per tank of gas. Only issue with remote pickup at this location is spotty AT&T service, which slowed down uploads to the app occasionally, but there were people at this location available to help if that did become a problem.

The whole Uhaul experience was a nightmare. I reserved a 26' truck to drop it at my final destination The day before they told me they didn't have any. After a whole day trying to find one, I had to accept a 20' and bring it back to the pick up location. Regional service doesn't care about their customers. Lots of miscommunication. I am very disappointed at this company.

I was charged ridiculously. I tried calling to see if I could get the key back in the morning so I could put a quarter tank of gas in. Never got a response. I was charged 220 for a truck that was supposed to cost me 113.00. No one told me I had to check back in via phone as I had problems checking in so I went inside. Lack of communication cost me over 100.00. That's bad business and yes I'm a disappointed customer

I bought gas to be sure I had enough. I did not use very much, and found out that one could not be reimbursed. Improved UHAUL TO THE TUNE OF 50,00 $ WORTH OF GAS. If one cannot be reimbursed for gas, then estimates of usage should be available.

I reserved a 17ft truck and was told the night before that I have to get a 15ft. I figured that was fine all things considered. Plus she said they would discount the miles. When I got the truck I found out that the miles weren't discounted. Again not a huge deal but a little annoyed at this point. It's late so there's no one to talk to. I get home to find out that the overpriced equipment wasn't even in the truck. So at this point everything that had to deal with the pick up was wrong. On top of the app that reset my pickup every few seconds. I end up on some chat with someone online who just said they'll refund it. That's great thank you. But I only have one hand and I'm moving my whole life into an apartment. I had to move the next morning at 8 and I couldn't call them until 7:30 so I had to load the truck without it. When I called the U-Haul at ace hardware the woman was unprofessional and flat out rude. I tried to be polite and say good morning. She basically brushed it off so I moved on to explain my problem. She gets an even more rude time to say “well if you didn't get equipment then you didn't order equipment” to which I replied “excuse me?” Or something along those lines and she just repeated it. And I had already given her my reservation number that clearly showed I did indeed order it. Everything worked in the end but it was a nightmare. I'm the first few of this building to be moving but I'm close with the leasing agent here and honestly will be asking her to tell her clients not to get U-Haul . Not to “hurt business” because I know it won't. I'm not trying to be petty but it's simply so no one else has to deal with that

I forgot to mention when I turned in U Haul that the a/c unit only worked on full blast and the low and medium did not work. The defrost on windshield did not work either. It was a hot summer day and pouring down rain so it was frustrating turning a/c on and off because you would get too cold and then had to turn back on because it was so humid. Also, on occasion the temperature would go from cold to warm all on its own. The vehicle drove excellent and we were happy with the rest of the experience.
