The trailer wasn’t properly maintained. It was rented for 3 days and broke down on the highway on the first day. The complete axle came off and could have resulted in a terrible accident. Items in the trailer were broken as a result and we were traumatized by the incident. It had to be towed from the location and we didn’t receive a replacement. They called for the towing and then lost track of the trailer which resulted in them claiming that we never returned it and we kept getting calls regarding its whereabouts. We were supposed to receive a refund and to date it hasn’t been processed. What a horrible experience. Nobody has taken accountability and we had to pay additional to rent another vehicle to complete our move. Shame on U-Haul!

Vincent GTo improve your service for future renters, you should consider having some of your key locations that are very successful teach seminars to those places that are not in such good shape and are not as successful. Consider having a class that when a location wants to become a Uhaul Dealer, that there are standards to follow. Weed out the bad locations from the start.
Jeff SOriginally I wanted to rent the vehicle 5 minutes from my house which made it very convenient but the next day they changed the location to a place that was a half hour from my house and so I had to pay increased mileage. All in all the vehicle was well maintained and the service was excellent worth the trip. I use U-Haul because the people try their best to make your trip trouble free?

George BThere is absolutely nothing you could do to improve. You got the diner. You can enjoy a meal. You have gas station. You can fill the truck up before you give it back. You have an ice cream stand not to mention you could buy a car there. What more could you improve on ? Well, they do have an abundance of property they could put a miniature golf course in lol U-Haul manager and operator is the best

MERLINDA SThe truck had an exhaust manifold leak and the trailer had a turn signal light out. The office is out of the same office for a diner. And the owner called me wanting the equipment back before my contracted time to return the equipment. Stating he had scheduled another rental for the trailer that day. I brought my rentals back a day early and they still charged me full cost, which in my opinion was WAY overpriced. U-HAUL NEEDS TO BE STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH THEIR PRICES. Why have it advertised 30 dollars a day for a truck then charge 200 dollars at the end of it in my opinion is trickery and robbery. I’m going to be going to Penske for all my rentals from now on, and I’ll be recommending everyone I know to do the same.

Arye LI was NEVER informed of any extra charges and fees, they never even mention a deposit amount until after I dropped it off and checked my bank account. I usually go to the one in Middletown but they had already ran out of their 10’ trucks so I had no choice but to go there, which will be the first and last time I rent from them. I understand being charged for miles, tax, etc but not the extra fees I was charged. Very disappointed!
cory hThe guy that stopped me and took the truck when I pulled in said I’m sorry it didn’t have any ac . That’s all he said. Then I forgot to put gas in it before returning and they charged me $50+ to put a couple gallons in it . When I picked it up it only had a little under half a tank. So I really don’t think I should’ve been charged for the few gallons when I returned it with a quarter tank.

Bruce KI was quoted $160 but when I picked up the truck it was $220. It was an online drop off and they tried to charge me for 33 additional miles at $1.50 a mile but I only used 5 additional miles. There was a place to note why you disagreed with the final bill, which I did and didn’t need to pay at the time. The message said someone from U-Haul would be in touch. No one ever reached out and a few weeks later they attempted to charge my card for the full amount.Luckily I lock my card when not using. I took a picture of the odometer before and after but I suggest that you just don’t use them at all.
