Lucky I have a big truck. The trailer was not plowed out or easily accessible. It took me about 10 try's to get thru the snow and hooked up. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to drive 30 miles to get the trailer even though there are 4 U-haul places in St. Cloud, I would have just left. I shouldn't have to put my truck thru that. I left not very happy.

Did not meet any person everything was by app on phone. Had to change password several times as it would not take the already set up password. Check in on line then have to do it all over again the next day WTH???? I also charges an extra $57 for WHAT???

We were there for an hour messing around with his computer and on-line form. I had to swipe one credit card three times. It didn't work. Then a second credit card two times. Then a third credit card another time. I don't even knoew which credit card went through. All my credit cards were good. His computer app kept locking up. The place is very dirty. He did help with the trailer hook up and let us use his rest room. Also, my pickup location was confirmed, then changed the next day. This took me an extra hour of travel time from the first pickup location. Then when I called to verify the trailer ball size needed, the wait time was over halh an hour. I finally found it in the "help" topics section. I was not happy with the whole experience except that the trailer towed well and was in good condition.

For starters, the pick up location was one hour away from where we had asked to pick-up. When we arrived, the guy working there right away told us he was not very good with computers and was hoping he would be able to do what needed to be done. Due to that statement I began looking back at my texts and saw that I could check us in via a link but he continued having my husband enter information into his computer so that when I completed the online check in there were some crossed wires and the contract could not be completed. I called the 800 number I had and it turned out to be the number for reservations and the rep I spoke with openly told me that she couldn't help with our current situation but refused to transfer me to customer service even after I asked her to several times. So after spending 25 minutes on the phone with her and getting nowhere, she finally transferred me and then I spent another 20 minutes on the phone trying to get things resolved. We were concerned that we would get double charged for the truck because of the crossing of information and was re-assured that the card had only been run once; however, that turned out to be false because a few days later while on the road for our move we checked our bank and sure enough there was a second charge for the truck!! Thankfully we were able to simply deal with the bank to dispute charges as I did not have the time to be waiting on hold for 45-1 hour to get things resolved. We also had similar negative experience trying to deal with the repair line as once we got the truck home my husband realized that there was an exhaust leak!! That process as well turned out to be a huge amount of time lost and wasted trying to coordinate the repairs. Also, at the time of reserving the truck and car hauler, I inquired about a military discount and was told that U-haul does offer a 10 % military discount and that it would be applied at time of pick-up; however, when I asked about it at the pick up location the guy said he was not aware of a military discount... The only positive part of pick-up was the fact that we were able to get it one day prior to original reservation date which was a Blessing considering we were originally planning to pick up and load the truck on the same day and if it had happened that way we would have been delayed a day on getting the truck loaded which would have been a huge disaster as we were moving out of state and had hotel reservations that coincided with us leaving by a certain date.

Our first reservation was made at our local dealer almost a month ahead of time, about 9 miles from our home. The day before pick up, I got a call that I now had to travel more than 30 miles one way to pick up the reserved trailer. The person who called me blamed our local dealer dealer in not "understanding the reservation system." The rep who called said it was only 21 miles, which they must apparently measure only zip code to zip code. So I arrive the different place they sent me to and it was a dump, which kind of gives dumps a bad name. It was filthy and smoke from a wood fire filled the entire "store" while the owner/operator was in about the same state of hygiene. Owner/operator could not effectively use the U-Haul computer system - I was actually filling out my own information for him. At some point, I got stuck, you know, because I'm not a U-HAUL employee and the guy who runs the place had to call into what I presume was assistance for dealers. He then hands the phone to me to talk to the dealer representative - who actually was helpful - to complete the rental process. The phone was disgusting, the office was disgusting, but this wasn't the worst part. While on the phone with the U-HAUL rep, the guy who runs the place tells me the reason he's having all the problems with my order is because I'm going to Arizona & because of "all those Mexicans stealing [stuff] so close to the border." I've already been inconvenienced having to travel much farther to pick this unit up and I have to make a cross country trip in less then 24 hours with no other equipment rental available, so I have no other choice but to just get through this. The guy who runs this place is not only disgusting, dirty and lacking any kind of professionalism, but is a complete and utter racist! Nice to see U-HAUL follows up with its dealers to ensure they meet their standards. I seriously thought about putting this on social media, but that would entail me creating a social media account - so that's probably fortunate for you - U-Haul. Considering that I come from a large family that includes Mexican-Americans it is my sincere hope that people will read this and NEVER go this rental location. It is also my hope that U-HAUL will take this jack-wagon's dealership away. Failure to do so would condone this behavior and continue to reflect poorly on what ever positive corporate image U-HAUL is trying to cultivate.

When making reservation, charge was $403 for rental, on pick up, you changed to $430. Had to drive an additional hour to pick up the trailer from the place I reserved pick up from. Not told until Saturday when picking up on Monday. Changed Drop off location to a location being run out of a BARBER SHOP.

He owner almost gave the uhaul I had on order to other person. Lucky I showed up first. Very "dumpy" place.Also I had to drive 25 minutes to get there when there are other, better dealers right by my home.

I have never had with u-haul such a bad experience: no paper work, wasn't able to log in to the computer system, wasn't able to print paper work, did not notify me that he needed me to come early because of a doctor's appointment. I would have missed picking up the truck if I hadn't called.

Thank you to Christie in customer service at the U-Haul customer service group. She was able to overcome the pick up location not being open for the trailer pickup as communicated by the customer service call to confirm the pick up. She was most helpful and pleasant to talk with. You are lucky to have her as a team member. The pick up location at Paynesville was a big disappointment with just a scribbled note on the front door stating they were going to be in and out for the afternoon. I waited for 15 minutes for some one to return until calling Customer service. Once Christie got involved we were able to still pick up the rental trailer. Thanks again to Christie for saving what could have been a very upsetting transaction.

I made the reservation at a location about 2 miles to our house at 2pm, after attending my daughter's high school graduation ceremony. But I found that the pickup location is about 40 mins away from where the high school is, and the pickup time changed to 12:30pm. Thus, we have to leave the graduation Ceremony early, very sad! If uHaul let me know early about it, I could pick up one day early or at St. Cloud location. BTW, there was no notice sent me about the location and time change for the pickup.

Limited hours of office access, although online extended hours option saved us! Key pickup and drop off a bit cumbersome without lockbox. Manager was great!

I reserved a uhaul trailer 2 weeks in advance for my relocation from a Willmar, MN office. The Friday before my move I receive an email saying no trailers are available in willmar and I have to drive 30+ miles one way to pick the trailer up in paynesville, MN. This ruined the moving schedule and gave me disgust towards Uhaul. The folks at RJ's and Store it America were nice but I did not get my 50$ as Uhaul specified. if you have a response I'd like to hear it.

Truck not clean inside and floor dirty in back. Back smelled and cleaned it out myself with wood floor cleaner. Is a side business for this guy and had nothing to help with the move.

I ordered the truck in Willmar, MN expecting to pick it up there instead of a town 26 miles away and had made arrangement to return back to the same site only to find out I needed to drop it off in another town. Not told to me either time when I reserved or picked up. Very disruptive to my schedule.

They were not aware that the gas needs to be filled to the same level as pickup - they wanted us to fill the tank up to full. We picked it up with 1/4 tank and brought it back with almost 1/2 tank. So they need to be informed of that policy.

Initially reserved (week in advance)the 5x8 trailer in Willmar for pickup. They called a day before and stated that had none and that I had to go to Paynesville for pickup. This added 1 hour to my travel time. Not to mention that the Paynesville store did not have any flat dollys. So I had to go back to the Willmar one to rent one.

I went online to reserve a Uhaul. The info said it was a six-hour rental. I looked up the local Uhaul telephone number and called. He said the rental is 24 hours, but I should come into his office to insure I get the truck I want delivered to his location. I went into the office and rented the truck. That day, I received a call stating I may need to drive to another location within 30 miles to pick up the truck, but I wouldn't be charged extra mileage. He stated I would get a call back on September 10th. I received a voicemail message stating I could pick up my rental at 9:00 a.m. on the 14th. The rental had been "upgraded" from a 17' truck to 26' truck. I called and said I was not comfortable driving a 26' truck and was told Uhaul can "upgrade" as they need to. I said it wasn't an upgrade unless it was something you want. They said I could pick up a 17' truck at a location 50 miles away, and would be charged for mileage which at a minimum would add another $100 to the rental. I was amazed at how crass and unempathetic they all were, and saddened by their rudeness. I ended up using the 26' truck. I tell everyone I can about this experience, and hope they will think twice about using Uhaul for their future rental needs. Living in a rural community, there aren't alot of choices for rentals, so I am unable to say I will never use them again. My hope is that I will never experience such abhorrible customer service again.

it had a drop box, unknown if the uhaul was ok. i had cleaned it and left more gas than necessary not knowing MPG. Site was convenient

Trailer hitch was defective resulting in breakaway some 120 miles down the road. Chains prevented full escape but sustained some damage to tow vehicle rear bumper. Contents of trailer we jumbled mess with some breakage/leakage. Reported to U-Haul insurance but have not heard from appraiser.
