Our first reservation was made at our local dealer almost a month ahead of time, about 9 miles from our home. The day before pick up, I got a call that I now had to travel more than 30 miles one way to pick up the reserved trailer. The person who called me blamed our local dealer dealer in not “understanding the reservation system.” The rep who called said it was only 21 miles, which they must apparently measure only zip code to zip code. So I arrive the different place they sent me to and it was a dump, which kind of gives dumps a bad name. It was filthy and smoke from a wood fire filled the entire “store” while the owner/operator was in about the same state of hygiene. Owner/operator could not effectively use the U-Haul computer system - I was actually filling out my own information for him. At some point, I got stuck, you know, because I'm not a U-HAUL employee and the guy who runs the place had to call into what I presume was assistance for dealers. He then hands the phone to me to talk to the dealer representative - who actually was helpful - to complete the rental process. The phone was disgusting, the office was disgusting, but this wasn't the worst part. While on the phone with the U-HAUL rep, the guy who runs the place tells me the reason he's having all the problems with my order is because I'm going to Arizona & because of “all those Mexicans stealing [stuff] so close to the border.” I've already been inconvenienced having to travel much farther to pick this unit up and I have to make a cross country trip in less then 24 hours with no other equipment rental available, so I have no other choice but to just get through this. The guy who runs this place is not only disgusting, dirty and lacking any kind of professionalism, but is a complete and utter racist! Nice to see U-HAUL follows up with its dealers to ensure they meet their standards. I seriously thought about putting this on social media, but that would entail me creating a social media account - so that's probably fortunate for you - U-Haul. Considering that I come from a large family that includes Mexican-Americans it is my sincere hope that people will read this and NEVER go this rental location. It is also my hope that U-HAUL will take this jack-wagon's dealership away. Failure to do so would condone this behavior and continue to reflect poorly on what ever positive corporate image U-HAUL is trying to cultivate.

When making reservation, charge was $403 for rental, on pick up, you changed to $430. Had to drive an additional hour to pick up the trailer from the place I reserved pick up from. Not told until Saturday when picking up on Monday. Changed Drop off location to a location being run out of a BARBER SHOP.

He owner almost gave the uhaul I had on order to other person. Lucky I showed up first. Very "dumpy" place.Also I had to drive 25 minutes to get there when there are other, better dealers right by my home.

I have never had with u-haul such a bad experience: no paper work, wasn't able to log in to the computer system, wasn't able to print paper work, did not notify me that he needed me to come early because of a doctor's appointment. I would have missed picking up the truck if I hadn't called.

Thank you to Christie in customer service at the U-Haul customer service group. She was able to overcome the pick up location not being open for the trailer pickup as communicated by the customer service call to confirm the pick up. She was most helpful and pleasant to talk with. You are lucky to have her as a team member. The pick up location at Paynesville was a big disappointment with just a scribbled note on the front door stating they were going to be in and out for the afternoon. I waited for 15 minutes for some one to return until calling Customer service. Once Christie got involved we were able to still pick up the rental trailer. Thanks again to Christie for saving what could have been a very upsetting transaction.

I made the reservation at a location about 2 miles to our house at 2pm, after attending my daughter's high school graduation ceremony. But I found that the pickup location is about 40 mins away from where the high school is, and the pickup time changed to 12:30pm. Thus, we have to leave the graduation Ceremony early, very sad! If uHaul let me know early about it, I could pick up one day early or at St. Cloud location. BTW, there was no notice sent me about the location and time change for the pickup.

I reserved a uhaul trailer 2 weeks in advance for my relocation from a Willmar, MN office. The Friday before my move I receive an email saying no trailers are available in willmar and I have to drive 30+ miles one way to pick the trailer up in paynesville, MN. This ruined the moving schedule and gave me disgust towards Uhaul. The folks at RJ's and Store it America were nice but I did not get my 50$ as Uhaul specified. if you have a response I'd like to hear it.

Truck not clean inside and floor dirty in back. Back smelled and cleaned it out myself with wood floor cleaner. Is a side business for this guy and had nothing to help with the move.

I ordered the truck in Willmar, MN expecting to pick it up there instead of a town 26 miles away and had made arrangement to return back to the same site only to find out I needed to drop it off in another town. Not told to me either time when I reserved or picked up. Very disruptive to my schedule.


They were not aware that the gas needs to be filled to the same level as pickup - they wanted us to fill the tank up to full. We picked it up with 1/4 tank and brought it back with almost 1/2 tank. So they need to be informed of that policy.


His internet/dial up was so slow it took about an hour to get the paperwork, after three tries. SEE OTHER BOX AS THIS PERTAINS TO UHAUL< NOT THE CONTRACTORS>>>>
