I made a reservation several weeks ago at another east falmouth site and the truck itself was not available. I had hired helpers and lost money on that. This time, the truck was available but two pieces of equipment were not. So in terms of your guarantee, you are 0 for 2

For what it's worth: I make a strong recommendation that the hours of operation at this location get updated on the website to reflect that the franchise owner doesn't actually get to work before 0900 - the two days I was there at 0800 to pick up and then drop off the rental truck I had to deal with kids working at the gym who didn't have training or knowledge of the entire process of renting a vehicle . As a result, I would not recommend doing business with these people. For other details, read below. I needed a pickup truck to move some equipment for a project at work. The U-Haul location in Pocasset MA - about 2 miles from home, didn't have one available. The location in East Falmouth MA is 13 miles from home and said it had one and that it was open at 0800 on Monday, 31 Oct. When I arrived at 0800, the kid working at the gym said the owner of the U-Haul franchise usually shows up at 0900, not 0800. He got the owner "Rocky" on the phone after I had been there about 10 minutes. I eventually got the deal done over the phone and Rocky said he'd send me the contract via email when he got to work. Good enough. I get home with the truck and noted that the bed of the truck had a small accumulation of laminated particle board furniture chunks, foam, staples, screws, mud and other crap from the previous rental. The cab likewise had some dried mud on the floor. I swept the bed out. Just after I had completed that, the contract arrived via email. It had the opportunity to go through the check list, take photos of fuel level, mileage, condition of the truck etc. Did all that. Loaded the truck and delivered the equipment to work project site a few miles away. Put $12 worth of gas into the truck, put a total of about 40 miles on it by the time I brought it back - 26 miles of that was just getting it to and from the location. When I went to return the truck on 1 Nov at 0800 the kid - Steven - working at the gym said the owner was not going to be in before 0900 and that he didn't know anything about the U-Haul franchise business. He got Rocky on the phone - we finalized the transaction as much as we could that way and the final bill was sent via email at 1137 AM. I will specifically not plan to rent a vehicle from this location again as a result of having to do the transaction over the phone with Rocky unless the website is updated to show the actual hours of operation.

Parking the return was difficult because it is a location that is not staffed. The other trucks were not parked within the parking spaces and the area is relatively small in size. The owner of the property was very helpful in the past, about two months ago, due to the fact that the wrong keys were placed in the lockbox. He had one of his employees from the business on the property open the other boxes for me to obtain the correct keys. Thank you Rocky!

The rep told me where to drop off the trailer then disappeared. Nobody knew where he went and nobody could acknowledge that I returned the trailer or give me a receipt. I left all me information with a receptionist at the gym. Later the rep called me and told me I was all set. Yesterday I started receiving email and texts stating that I had not returned the trailer. Finally I went by the gym and the trailer was still there. Took pics and sent to the rep to take care. He's a friendly nice guy but I wish I didn't have that hassle.

I don't understand why I was charged $20 for an "after hours" drop off when I dropped it off while the facility was open. I plan on contacting the location to understand why this fee was charged, I did not see this in the original contract signed when picking up the trailer.

I Haul sites should have a person on duty during normal business hours. I also think that it's ridiculous for U-Haul to make me take a picture of myself every time I get a truck. I rent trucks several times a month and the mobile processes or time consuming that it needs to be

I drove 25 miles, added 3 gallons of gas less than 0,5 mile away and was charged for two additional gallons. Should be refunded this amount at a minimum. Sat waiting for the guy at the desk to pay attention to me for a solid 5 minutes while he chatted with his friend.

Your rental agent needs to be trained. He did not know the rental process and this resulted in a significant delay at pick up time. Also, I was overcharged for the rental.
