The owners of Rod's Radiator are great to work with and have been my top choice to rent U-haul trailers and equipment in the Redding / Shasta County area. They provide quick service and have even helped me change out a fuse in my Honda to resolve an issue with one of my turn signals without any charge or hesitation. They are truly your local small business owners that care about you, me and the community. I highly recommend Rod's Radiator as your location to rent U-Haul equipment. Tony

RICHARD MMaybe I have big expectations....I was not shown anything about the uHaul truck I was renting. I never found cruise control (which the truck may or may not have had). I did not know how large the tank was or the mpg--necessary information to enable fueling the right amount and returning the truck with 1/4 tank. When I checked the info, all tires had different tire pressures and I took the truck to Les Schwab before beginning my journey. It also seemed due for a service. The truck was clean enough. Customer service was friendly just not invested enough.

Russ PIt had dirt throughout the truck picking it up and bugs all over, didn't have us take pictures for the pickup but had us take pictures with drop off. It was difficult to get the app to work to get the keys in the first place to pick the truck up. Had twice the payment when dropping off. Will no longer be using U-Haul, I've used U-Haul and Penske and this is the worst experience I have had with the company.
Kayla KThey over charged me an extra 80 miles altogether 140 for and in town trip from storage to house. It's completely unacceptable, I've used Uhaul so many times and have never had a problem, these people are crooks and taking hard earned money from a single hard-working mom and full time student. If you do go through them I highly recommend that your very thorough

Wesley HRod's Radiator is now my top location to rent Uhaul trailers for daily use. The husband and wife are kind, courteous and provide great customer service. They even helped replace a fuse in my fuse box to get the trailer lights back to operational. I will be back to rent from Rod's Radiator and recommend you to as well.

Larry MThis pick up at ray's radiator was rude. Failed to put equipment requested in the truck. Made no efforts to answer questions saying in stead " we just provide a place to pick up trucks.. we are not a u hail dealership" Never again will I rent or recommend this location for any thing!!

Pamela CI ordered a truck online along with blankets, tie downs, appliance dolly, and reserved it for pick up at the Murrieta UHAUL on Jefferson. On the day of pick up - I confirmed - all about a week prior. On the day of the scheduled pickup - someone from UHAL phoned me in the morning and said I would need to pick it up from another store outside of my town - why was this my responsibility? Also, I had ordered 2 TV boxes - I asked if these would be at the new pick up location and I was assured "yes - they would be." Again, I confirmed as it got closer to pickup. When I called and said "I'm coming to pick up the truck" the other store in Wildomar said - "I'm sorry but we gave it away and tried to call you." I had no missed call notifications from that store and no text messages. The woman at the Wildomar store said "We're all sold out of 20 footers - you're going to have to drive 1,5 hours South to pick one up but we DO HAVE a 26 footer in Menifee" (so they upsold me to a larger size which cost me more money!). I was desperate - it was the 11th hour so of course I had to say "Ok." I then had to drive way out of my way to Menifee to pick it up and they almost didn't relinquish it. The truck was below 1/4 of a tank with only 60 miles of gas until E. I didn't get the tie downs ordered, blankets, Tv boxes - all they had was an appliance. dolly. I had to do the running around when I had reserved and ordered everything on-line! Horrible customer service experience.

Frank NThe people who worked there were very nice. The trailer we received was old and when we opened the door it would not close we had to drive to RedBluff Uhaul and have them fix it temporarily and drive back to Redding for another trailer. This cost us over two hours of time when we had helpers to pack and over 100 miles of gas.

CAREN DSo, U-Haul puts a big facility on a heavily travelled arterial, then sends me to a radiator shop a few blocks away. Could have been a snafu, except that I called to change my reservation time beforehand. People at both facilities were very nice. I also appreciate the invoice credit for returning the truck with more fuel than it came with.

Catherine NI was disappointed that I was charged an extra $14 without an explanation. The first charge was supposed to be 44, then it went up to 54. Then a random charge for $14 that I did not ask for. At the very least I would have appreciated a call to inform what the charge was for. I definitely will not be going back.

Charolette KI think it would've been a much better experience if I had received better communication from UHaul a few days prior to my rental letting me know that I would need to prove my identity and provide the contact info for someone who could verify my identity at that moment. It was kind of a fiasco, and it made me really anxious. Since The shop itself was closed, I felt like I had no assistance if I had issues uploading photos of my ID (which I did). I tried to call for assistance and was told the wait time was an hour. Fortunately the 'chat function' ultimately helped, but it was extremely stressful, took a long time, and I really wouldn't recommend this method of pick-up to anyone.

JUSTIN OWe would have preferred to return the truck to Mount Shasta, but they needed it in Redding, however, when we returned it there was another 26' truck on the lot. UHaul offers an incentive to drop-off at another location, but with the extra driving time and gas and mileage for another vehicle to pick me up, it really isn't worth it.
Scott RI got ripped off on the fuel level. I am 62, need reading glasses and do not feel obliged to do all of my business on a smart phone. The fuel gauge in my truck read 5/8 when I rented the truck. I did not check the "paperwork", of which there was none, because I do not do email on my phone. When I checked back in, I was told I owed a fuel charge of $58 because I rented the truck at 7/8 tank. That is a lie. I spoke with an agent on the phone who said he could find no record of the check-in level I inherited. U-Haul is stealing from me and I will never rent from you again. Also, I will advise others of your crookery. Your system is difficult to use, the dealer in Redding, CA at Rod's Radiator is poorly trained and your reliance on technology, while it may reduce operating cost, is very inconvenient. I like paper.

Vera CI had ordered an appliance dolly and I didn't receive it. The back of the truck had blankets in it that I had to move around to pack the truck as well. I am very upset and I won't be renting another uhaul truck from this location ever again. They didn't have anything organized. Horrible service.
