My experience with this location was horrible. I usually rent from a corporate location but this was or seemingly was more convenient. The rental truck was not clean. It smelled like urine in the back of the truck. When I started the vehicle, lights were in the dash about from front tire needing air. When I bought this to the employee's attention, he stated that it was no problem if I didn't load the truck heavy. I drove the truck from his gas station located at 1500 Russell Street MD to 8288 Belair Road MD (Approx 15,9 miles). I drove back from 8288 Belair Road MD to 10 N. Calvert Street MD (Approx 15,7 miles). Lastly, I drove from 10 N Calvert Street MD back to 1500 Russell Street MD (Approx 2 miles). For a total of 33,6 miles. When I got back to the location and refueled, the employee told me to take a picture of the gas and mileage. After doing so, I was told I needed to add more gas and was give special instructions to obtain the mileage. I had to turn the vehicle off then wait and turn it back on, then the mileage would display. After doing all of this, I was over charged for mileage. I paid for 50 miles and my total bill was almost $100. This location is not professional and not a good reflection of Uhaul. I am a Police Officer with the State of Maryland. I serve with honesty, integrity, and respect. That was far from present during this experience. I am going to follow up on the over charging. For my moving needs in the future, I will not use Uhaul.

The mobile check in application is misleading. It requires a full application, which is not what I expected in a check in once I've already reserved a truck. Put the application in the reservation in the future so I can just get the truck and go. There is one utility dolly at this location, and that should be overstated. I purchased more items than that and was disappointed that there were none ever available.

The truck had homeless people sleeping in it overnight. The front right tire was low when we got it. The steering wheel has to be fidgeted before we could start it. The dolly we reserved wasn't available, so we had to use the one at the store.

Truck was dirty, lots of trash in it. I noted that at pickup and sent one picture (site would not allow me to download more than one picture). At check out I noted that the truck was not clean (I was not cleaning up someone else's mess) and I was charged $25 for cleanup of the truck. I will be reaching out to U-Haul for reimbursement. Driver door did not shut properly and window handle knob on driver's side was missing.

The seat was stuck in place and unable to be adjusted, which I think is a significant risk. There were also empty bottles in the truck. Finally, the desk operator overcharged for gasoline, for which I have already lodged a complaint.

Make sure you take a picture of the mileage and gas gauge before you leave and when you return if not they will lie and try to steal anything they can I was charged $30 for a fuel service fee and $33 for a fuel refill after only a 14 mile trip and they tried to also charge me for a whole extra day for nothing I brought they truck back 5 mins early smh these guys are crooks

I made a reservation for Monday 8/1/2022 and had a couple of issues, besides having homeless people inside the back of the first truck which the clerk was nice enough to switch for me, I also feel there was a huge miscommunication or lack of knowledge on behalf of the clerk. The clerk said that I would receive a credit for the unused gas so he advice to tank the truck, which I did. It cost me $93 to fill the truck but only $9,5 was credited back to me. After reaching out to costumer service I was hit with the “in the contract says…”. It is outrageous to have a clerk or representative of the company saying something inaccurate and misleading and the company don't held them accountable for their actions. Tanking a V8 truck cost me more than the rental itself and for Uhaul to ignore or dismiss the issue with a lack of comprehension for the situation is completely unacceptable. Over all I paid $160 for a truck which $93 where basically in gas. Please guys read the fine print of your contract; but whatever you do, never trust clerks and costumer service with Uhaul they are absolutely negligent to the costumer needs after they take your money o would never use them again.

Russell St disrespectful threw the keys at me the gas cap was hanging wasn't secure went back to let him know he shrugged his shoulders I have pics and Upon returning the truck he refused to let us pay for gas inside so we left and then the next morning Russell St tried to take $5 865 from my account that's crazy nobody contacted me I been a loyal customer I will take my services to someone else

The pick up location was outstanding but the process of where to pick up was horrible. The location was changed twice with the second location not having a reservation and directing us to the third location. While in transit to the third the reservation was canceled which ment that the third location had no reservation for me. After calling the customer service number the reservation was reinstated. This process led to a 2 1/2 hour delay in our schedule.

There were homeless people in the U-Haul we had to shoo out. The check in process was TERRIBLE. We also ordered 10' and we got the 7' U-Haul. I will not be using this location again.

I was ignored for 10 minutes by the man working. He was on his cell phone talking to someone. He didn't apologize or acknowledge he ignored me for as long as he did. The TRUCK WAS DISGUSTING!!! The cab had not been cleaned for a while. There was an empty bottle, dirt & old ketchup/ mustard wrappers. The back end had something spilled over 1/2 of it & it was smelly & ticky. It smelled like old trash. I should have complained before I left but I had already wasted time with the clerk. I complained when I got back but this different clerk also didn't acknowledge me speaking. He ignored my complaints & basically just tried to get me to leave, which I did. I have used U-Haul for over 40 moves in my life & it is a shame that Customer Service has gotten so poor!!

Very unhappy with initial pick up. My account in order had said to pick up at the Belair Road location in Baltimore, however when I arrived there was no truck and the representative could not tell me why or tell me where to go. I was directed to call customer service who said that my location is been changed and “they tried to contact me “that morning. I received no such call, and lost time moving my stuff.

I could not use the rental by using mobile check in even when I changed the browser setting. It kept giving error message so I had to change how I picked up the truck. This process is absolutely worthless, and I got lucky the location was staffed.

Check vehicles before renting to ensure there are no homeless people in the back. Also, if someone checked in online before arriving, don't try to stall customers by asking for four different types of ID in order for the homeless people to try to hurry up and move.

When I got there I wasn't allowed to leave my car. Then came back and when I went to take the car and there were homeless people in the back of the truck. The owner clearly doesn't lock the beds after they have been returned. In a city, you would think that would be important.

Instructions said to drop the truck, take a picture and put the key in the lock box. I left the truck, no lock box in sight. Went into the gas station to ask what I should do, and they told me I had to move the truck again, to a location outside the parking lot and then give them the key. Missing information, no uhaul employees available to help.

Please make sure the UHaul truck is locked. The first truck assigned had homeless people sleeping inside and there was no lock on the back door. Also have someone actually go out to inspect the truck before handing it over and have both parties agree on the mileage and gas meters.

NO ONE SHOULD EVER GO HERE. I picked up the truck at 1500 Russell St. in Baltimore, MD, which was just a shell gas station with three U HAUL trucks in a parking lot. The employee who checked me in never left behind the counter and gave me a key and said 'it's outside', leaving which truck was ours up to a guessing game. After locating the correct truck I noticed that the back latch to the lift gate door was not secured so I had to lock that. Once I got into the truck, turned on the ignition, and put the truck into reverse there were pounding sounds coming from the back of the truck, which were extremely alarming. I opened the back of the truck and THERE WERE TWO HOMELESS PEOPLE IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. They started to yell profanities at my girlfriend and I as if it were our fault they were in our rental truck. Scared for her safety she jumped back into my car which was luckily still in the parking lot and locked the doors as I went back into the gas station to tell the employees what had happened. Their response was appalling - 'yeah sometimes that happens...sorry', as if that's ever okay. After the homeless persons grabbed what they could and ran, they left drugs and drug paraphernalia in the back of the truck. I requested to use the other 10' box truck and was told "don't worry we'll clean it out for you." What did that consist of? An employee brought out a broom and swept the drugs and paraphernalia onto the parking lot... nothing else. As if that wasn't enough I also got charged a $21 fuel charge of 4 gallons when I brought the truck back with MORE gas in it than when I picked it up. The employee never showed me the bill, and never made me sign anything as he scribbled a signature ON MY BEHALF.

The attendant charge us $10 to park our car in the parking lot. We paid $5 cash to refuel the gas we used and then was charged an additional $5,64 on my debit card for the gas. The attendant would not give me a receipt, not until I called UHALL insisting to get a receipt. The receipt was one price, and a larger price was taken from my debit card. UHALL and their service was not the problem, the location was.

Have moving blankets that aren't sitting in the rain next to a dumpster. Don't charge people to park their car while they use the dumpster. Be clear beforehand that the UHaul needs to be returned with a precise amount of gas. Have a facility where the person allows you to use a bathroom after you've just paid them money.

The website/app would not load for mobile rental. Parking for our personal vehicle was $15 and was not advertised anywhere prior. I would have planned differently, or picked a different location if I knew that. The return instructions were not clear i.e. needed a picture of us turning off the vehicle. How could we possibly return the keys if we didn't turn off the vehicle.

The mobile website experience was completely lousy. It took me more than 20 minutes, and eventually the store attendee had to do it for me. For example, a perfect picture of my drivers license was consistently rejected, do you recognize MD river's licenses? All of the setup could have been done in advance, and should have, as part of the reservation process. I give that part of the experience a big F.

1. First truck said low oil pressure & had a cabin alarm sounding. The clerk tried to convince me it was because of the seat belt, after showing him I had my seatbelt on & also latching the empty passenger seat he said well just drive it will eventually go off. I had to beg him to give me another truck. 2. Truck also said low oil pressure and was visibly leaking oil….. same argument with clerk to finally just give up because I needed to get on the road. Upon arriving to my loading destination, I opened the back of the truck & two mean jumped out & ran off who had been either living of sleeping in the back of the truck. I had to clean up wrappers, spilled soda (which got all over my furniture regardless. And not to mention k was terrified at the event. 3. Called customer service who took my report but said they couldn't do anything about to. I really think Uhaul should make this right. My experience was horrendous and no one should have to argue to get new equipment when it isn't up to par or doesn't feel safe

As I attempted to inspect the Uhaul, the passenger and the driver's side doors were unlocked. As I lifted the rear door of the Uhaul, I noticed a horrible smell. Upon lifting the door to investigate I began to notice 4 individuals sleeping/living in the back of the Uhaul. I immediately ran back into the gas station to alert the clerk working and to request another truck ( His name was Sam). Sam gave a nonchalant shrug and said to " Tell them to get the fuck out of there!", and refused to give me a different truck. I was planning on moving that same day, so I had no choice but to take the truck. This incident wasn't handled properly and raised many concerns to me and my family. Due to Covid, there was a risk of contamination and not to mention Sam wanted me to remove people from the truck when that's his job. I called the police but before they arrived the 4 people had evacuated. They had blankets, pillows, needles, and toilet paper as if they were living in the truck. I have provided pictures of the state of the truck I received it in as well as the individuals living in the truck. This was a highly dangerous situation that my family and I had to endure.

Hard to get to and located at a shell gas station. not clear where the drop off is and it's hard to navigate if you're not used to a large truck. If I had known there were closer options, I would have picked somewhere else

They wouldn't let me return the Uhaul on the same day I picked it up because they rented its parking spot to people going to the football game. Tried to have me deliver the next day when I told them I couldn't and then sent me to park it at a different Uhaul where I almost had to pay a 'returned to wrong location' fine. The only reason I didn't was that I left a note for that Uhaul location to call me so I could explain the situation. My suggestion for improvement is that they stop double-dealing on parking spots during game day.

Reserved furniture dolly and a regular dolly and received neither. Charge was taken off but resorted me in having a tougher time moving some of my items. Also, there was a homeless guy sleeping in my truck when I first got my keys. I opened the door and I guy was there sleeping and had to wake him up and kick him out of the truck. I have a photo for proof. I recommend uhual dealers to lock their vehicles at night.

Gas station charges $10 to park your personal car while you're away. I feel scammed, but other reviewers have commented on this as well. Staff wasn't overly pleasant. The cashier wanted proof of all of the information I had already uploaded to my contactless drop-off. I would not rent from here again

The truck was dirty from previous use. Broken furniture pieces and trash was left inside, and the dash & steering wheel was dirty and sticky matters were left behind. Highly unsanitary and I don't recommend anyone using this spot.

Truck cargo area could have been a little cleaner. The location is listed as a Citgo Gas station but it is now a Shell station so I had a little trouble finding it at first. Overall the cashier was friendly and I am satisfied with the service.

Make sure fluids are replenished (no windshield fluid), keys are in tact (key was taped up), and clean (empty pack of cigarettes were left and ashes were left in cup holders, leaving a terrible smell)
