ANDREA PExtremely Disappointed - Unsafe Equipment and Terrible Service I had a very frustrating and dangerous experience with your U-Haul location. The back lift door on the rental truck broke early in the day, making the truck unusable. As a result, we had to scramble and use our personal vehicles to make multiple trips - something we had rented the truck specifically to avoid. I called for service at 10:30 AM and was told a technician would arrive within 45 minutes. That estimate kept changing throughout the day - 30 minutes, then cancelled, then rescheduled - until someone finally arrived after 6 PM. Even then, they didn't properly fix the door. Instead, they disconnected the cable and left the door in a condition that required three people to open and close it manually. It was dangerous and could have seriously injured or even killed someone if it had come crashing down. Because of this delay, I incurred two extra hours of overtime care for my elderly mother, who I couldn't get home to in time. When I returned the truck and explained everything to your customer service, I requested a full refund - especially since I hadn't even refueled the truck due to safety concerns, and needing to get home to my mother. The response? You didn't see any of this as a problem. To make matters worse, I later received a call saying I wouldn't get a full refund because I had used the truck "for part of the day." That reasoning makes no sense. The equipment failed, the service was negligent, and my safety was put at risk. If my credit card refund is not for the full amount, I will be escalating this to a supervisor.

Patricia GTruck could have been a bit cleaner. Rating is difficult since these trucks are used, abused, and uncomfortable to drive anyhow. This truck had 126k miles on it and rattled horrendously. But, that is to be expected. It performed the job it was intended to do.

Karan JAll went well with the rental; staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Not so much with the after-hours return. (This is not a negative comment about the rental location, since it was closed at the time of the rental) The U-HAUL app kept freezing-up when I was trying to do the return. I reached out to customer service and was given a url: www.uhaul.com/share, to complete the return. The section for "return the truck" froze-up on the Uhaul website, also. In the end, I copied the mileage and fuel level on a slip of paper, which I slid into the key ring, which I then put into the key dropbox. Apparently, it worked, because I received a final receipt for the rental. Note: I had location-sharing (GPS) and LTE turned on, at the time of the return attempt.

Roxanne DThe office itself once we knew it was there was great. The online rental part was awful and Wanda the online help was terrible. That woman had an attitude from the first phone call. She would call ask a question get the answer and immediately hang up. She had absolutely no manners to ask me if I needed any kind of help and didn't even give me time to ask a question cause she would just hang up. She changed the contract to the drivers name made more work on me. I was renting the truck and had an extra driver. We stood out in a hot parking lot on our phones trying to get the keys and 45 minutes later we had them and then we found out there was an office to pick up blankets and the extras I rented. The woman in the office was very nice and helpful and she made the experience a little bearable. But without her it was an awful experience and I will not ever do it again.
