This location is close to HWY22, which makes it easily accessible. Also very convenient that it is at a gas station, one stop for the end of the process, fill up the gas tank and turn the truck in. Customer service was impeccable, friendly, courteous and communicative. We will definitely return when we need further uhaul services. Thank you for your kind and friendly service.

The truck I rented had a misfire it ran like shit it got me where I wanted but who knows how much it cost me in fuel the people at the shell were awesome and the truck was clean but it ran like shit

I was hoping to pick up tv boxes. Not a real I-haul store. I originally asked for pickup at N.E. Location. 15 miles out of my way!

I reserved my truck 4 MONTHS in advance. The day before pickup, I called and confirmed the pickup location and time. Received confirmation email and text. Not an hour later received a call saying the pickup location I was promised didn't have the truck I needed. The closest truck was 60+ miles away! Begged for a closer truck but I was less than 24 hours away from a cross country move. I couldn't cancel and uhaul knew it so they didn't do anything but give me a slight discount - if you could call it that. I had already had my car picked up for my move so I was out of luck. I had to Uber and then pay for the additional gas to drive the truck back to my house to load. Their "discount" didn't even pay the difference. Not to mention the 3 hour delay it set me back on moving day. I had to reschedule the guys that were supposed to help move that day and bc of the reschedule they ended up being late also. This made my moving day roll into the next morning. Also, when I went to pick up the truck 1,5 hours away from my original pickup location their discount wasn't in the system and I had to argue with the guy at the counter to give me what was promised. AND the system was telling him that my pickup location was also different than what I had originally booked (again, an hour+ away from my original selection!). Perhaps my tears or exasperation convinced him because he overrode the system and said I could return the truck to my original location. Moves are stressful enough. Uhaul made it much worse. What's the point of a reservation confirmation 4 months in advance if they are going to change it literally less than 24 hours before pickup time?

How about consistency. Don't try renting a truck to someone doing a move that has less than half a tank of gas like the other location in Salem on 12th St. I don't know, I can't do anything about your concern, these are not good responses from the 12th St franchise.

This was just a gas station where I could pick up my U-Haul truck. The truck was ready and clean, the attendant was courteous and efficient. That's why I rated it all as average.

This pick up site is a Shell gas station. It had two trucks. The person that checked me in was the only employee at the gas station/convenience store/U Haul store. He was very busy taking care of all of his duties. He did a good job but my confidence level wasn't very high compared to my past experiences at a full on U Haul store.

Although this is very busy gas station/convenience store the employees were very attentive and helpful with rental and return. Its not easy to do everythimg they have to do but they did it with ease. Great job!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff at this location! After Uhaul CHANGED MY DROP-OFF LOCATION WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT - leading to immense confusion and frustration, the staff at this location helped me get the truck returned. This location treated me great! Uhaul treated me HORRIBLY - I DO NOT recommend Uhaul to anyone. They were awful to me.

Limited duration for pickup of trailer was involved. Limited contact with UHaul representative, as long as one goes through the pre check-in process before picking up equipment so that there is no time wasted for the customer and UHaul representative. Minimal social contact, which is what I want, and what I got!

I was double charged and cant get a reply from Uhaul, even though I sent a screenshot of my bank account and the first charge Uhaul tried to bill me for. I sent a reply to an email recieved stating I needed to still pay. I replied with the screenshot of the charge and I want my money back, all of it.

Did not get the trailer I reserved online and was not informed that they didn't have any at this location . I reserved a 5x9 flat bed but received a 5x8 box . The item I was hauling had to be partially disassembled to fit in the trailer NOT HAPPY

Unable to pay with two cards, and the representative was unable to get ahold of U-Haul to verify if we could make that happen. In the end, we figured it out, so it wasnt a huge issue. Possibly make that apparent if it isn't to small of a group that needs it? Thank you for your services!

The guys at Salem Shell were very nice and tried to be helpful, but my experience with them as a pick up location for a rental car trailer was poor. First one guy partially completed the registration online before the other pointed out that he had used the wrong form and needed to start over. When we were finally done, the same guy came out to attach the trailer to the hitch of the 15' U-Haul truck I rented, and I noticed the safety chains seemed to be hanging very low. I asked if they could be shortened to avoid dragging on the highway and creating sparks - a wildfire risk - and he looped the chains more carefully. Then he said the taillight connecters didnt match, and I'd need to drive to an electronics or auto parts store to buy an adapter! I was stunned - I rented two standard U-Haul rentals meant to be used together and they were going to make me drive and purchase something to make them work?! Then I pointed out that in fact the two wiring harnesses DID fit perfectly together, and I still had to request that he stand behind the trailer to make sure the brake lights and turn signals worked. Clearly these guys are much more a Shell gas station than they are a proper U-Haul location. If you want an absolutely EXCELLENT U-Haul team, go to U-Haul of South Salem. It's only a few minutes away and everyone there is at the top of their game.

I had to unload disconnect the trailer myself and I was the one that had to lead the people to what needed to be done. I asked for help and the attendant said well I can't help you do it yourself. I used the truck from 1:30 pm and returned at 5:30. I drove it 15 miles. I'm charged $75. If it takes 3 gallons to go 15 miles, there is something bad wrong with truck. I also have a $40 voucher from Coldwell bankers that the clerk would not accept. He said to go to corporate.

The floor of the Uhaul box and the mom's attic was absolutely disgusting. It was clearly not cleaned out well or swept out. You could run your finger across it and have a thick layer of dirt on it. We had to clean the floor with chlorox wipes because it was getting our belongings all dirty. Also, I rented a Uhaul back in November of 2018 and provided feedback about the Uhaul reeking of smoke and I had to drive 36 hours across the country with smoke smell and there were even cigarette ashes in the cup holder which I had taken pictures of when I got it and Uhaul didn't do anything about that situation either. The customer service for Uhaul is very poor and doesn't seem to care when a customer has a bad experience with the rental. If I need to rent a truck in the future it will not be through Uhaul. I've spent thousands of dollars in the past year renting Uhauls and can't even get a response when I give feedback.
