Incredibly friendly and helpful staff at this location! After Uhaul CHANGED MY DROP-OFF LOCATION WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT - leading to immense confusion and frustration, the staff at this location helped me get the truck returned. I was double charged and cant get a reply from Uhaul, even though I sent a screenshot of my bank account and the first charge Uhaul tried to bill me for. Unable to pay with two cards, and the representative was unable to get ahold of U-Haul to verify if we could make that happen. In the end, we figured it out, so it wasnt a huge issue. Possibly make that apparent if it isn't to small of a group that needs it? Thank you for your services!Dillon A.

The guys at Salem Shell were very nice and tried to be helpful, but my experience with them as a pick up location for a rental car trailer was poor. First one guy partially completed the registration online before the other pointed out that he had used the wrong form and needed to start over. When we were finally done, the same guy came out to attach the trailer to the hitch of the 15' U-Haul truck I rented, and I noticed the safety chains seemed to be hanging very low. I asked if they could be shortened to avoid dragging on the highway and creating sparks - a wildfire risk - and he looped the chains more carefully. Then he said the taillight connecters didnt match, and I'd need to drive to an electronics or auto parts store to buy an adapter! I was stunned - I rented two standard U-Haul rentals meant to be used together and they were going to make me drive and purchase something to make them work?! Then I pointed out that in fact the two wiring harnesses DID fit perfectly together, and I still had to request that he stand behind the trailer to make sure the brake lights and turn signals worked. Clearly these guys are much more a Shell gas station than they are a proper U-Haul location. If you want an absolutely EXCELLENT U-Haul team, go to U-Haul of South Salem. It's only a few minutes away and everyone there is at the top of their game.Luke M.

I used the truck from 1:30 pm and returned at 5:30. I drove it 15 miles. I'm charged $75. If it takes 3 gallons to go 15 miles, there is something bad wrong with truck. I also have a $40 voucher from Coldwell bankers that the clerk would not accept. He said to go to corporate.Donald P.
The floor of the Uhaul box and the mom's attic was absolutely disgusting. It was clearly not cleaned out well or swept out. You could run your finger across it and have a thick layer of dirt on it. We had to clean the floor with chlorox wipes because it was getting our belongings all dirty. Also, I rented a Uhaul back in November of 2018 and provided feedback about the Uhaul reeking of smoke and I had to drive 36 hours across the country with smoke smell and there were even cigarette ashes in the cup holder which I had taken pictures of when I got it and Uhaul didn't do anything about that situation either. The customer service for Uhaul is very poor and doesn't seem to care when a customer has a bad experience with the rental. If I need to rent a truck in the future it will not be through Uhaul. I've spent thousands of dollars in the past year renting Uhauls and can't even get a response when I give feedback.Eric N.
