My ubox tarp had a tear in it that appeared to have been fixed at one time but was torn again. About half the people at the location desk acted clueless and like they didn’t care Some of the people responded quickly and with purpose but many did not. No one seemed to want to take responsibility for the ubox. We were sent from one office to the other several times.

The interior of the cabin was really dirty with old food crumbs in the cup holders and beverage residue. I had to ask it to be cleaned. Also, we had paid to rent a furniture dolly and blankets. They did not have enough blankets, and they had no dolly. I should have been notified in advance in the very least. Mostly, the dolly should have been made available in the first place as it totally changes the moving process. Both pick up and returning the vehicle took a while, and necessary staff were leaving earlier than the hours advertised. There was a total lack of professionalism and courtesy.

U-haul like a lot of companies today, passes on entirely too much responsibility to the consumer. It’s crazy to have to take pictures and document the condition of the truck. We’re doing the work of an employee, without the compensation.

The fuel gage when we got in the truck was almost at E ( pics to validate) . The truck was parked about 2 blocks away so I had to dry a couple of miles in NYC traffic to get to the station for gas. I told the attendant that the actual starting mileage was at 71328 ( due to return to station for gas) and not 71325. I realize it is only $7 -$8 but why should I be penalized.

I found the staff to be distracted, on their phones and unhelpful. I was given a truck with less fuel than what was listed on my paper work. When I brought this to the attention of the staff person on duty, I was told not to worry about it, that they would reverse this error when I returned the truck. When I returned the truck, I was given a hard time about this and ultimately had to call customer service to get this problem properly dealt with.

The fuel reading was wrong on the paperwork at pick up. When I returned the vehicle, they tried to charge me for gas that I didn’t use and a additional $30 fill up charge. The van was dirty and unkept. Unprofessional and not willing to help.

Definitely make sure that the vehicle has all of the rear view mirrors intact. Also, it would help that any equipment ordered ahead of time with the vehicle is available at the pick-up site. We had to rent a dolly that was ordered from a different location, drive to the other location in the Bronx which extended our mileage and the time spent to finish our move, and then had to stay on the phone with customer service as the problem was resolved.

The process of picking up the van using the online process was overly confusing and stressful. Steps like posting a picture of my face and needing to change the settings on my phone to allow my browser to access my camera and location were all unnecessarily complicated and this information could have been requested beforehand when we weren't stressed and in a huge hurry. In addition, we couldn't find the van for a half an hour and the gas station staff told us to check all the way along the entire avenue for several blocks. Eventually, we found it in the very back of the parking lot of the gas station, blocked by 3 layers of trucks. Then, they reassigned another van to us, but we still couldn't get out because the way the gas station is laid out, any time somebody is pumping gas at a specific one of the stations, it is blocking the u-hauls from backing out. It took us around an hour total to get out, and it was impossible to maneuver around the very cramped and extremely crowded gas station. We also wanted to pump gas before leaving but that proved to be impossible and we were already running extremely late to meet our movers.

I was in and out in 15 minutes even with it being the attendants training day. Manager was great and even let me borrow a quarter. Dropped it off and was out within 5 minutes. Everything was SO easy. Thanks guys (and training gal)!

I was charged $25.00 insurance which I clearly stated I did not want. I called uhaul and they promised a call back about this additional charges, still no call back....still no refund. I feel this insurance issue is predatory, it has happened to me before where I opt out of the insurance and somehow still end up paying. Very disappointed in these practices and the failure to follow up on my phone call concerning this issue.

How could you possibly let one of your locations limit/reduce the 24 hour rental time period? Even if your internal controls are so lapse not to notice till this complaint the board must wonder about your competence. You require customers to use the app to make a reservation and no where on the app does it say what I was told. “Oh, we don’t allow you to rent for 24 hours at the end of the month”. The app gave 3 customers in line and myself and issue which resulted in a waste of time as the onsite rep had to take over the reservation from the system. The willingness of your board to sacrifice the client experience to save headcount by using technology is typical of large companies. I bet you large shareholders would not even rent from you. I ordered supplies and they did not have most of them. The moving pads were downright dirty. The returning experience was terrible while using the online feature. I was double charged on my card and the service was poor.

The van had no gasoline in it and I had to put gas myself. I was given a credit of $23. However, I had to wait for 30 minutes in line to get gas at the location. When I rent a car, I expect it to be ready to go when I arrive. Instead of 1:00pm, I did not leave the location before 2:00pm and arrive late at my meeting point.

Employ competent employees. My experience at this location was the worse. An employee by the name of Santana was very disrespectful. After she made an error, I tried correcting her and she became belligerent. She cursed at me in her language and throw my papers to the flood and stated she not helping; I should call customer service for help. The employee billed me over $200 instead of $60. And also billed me after hour fee to return the truck. Which I think is ridiculous. I could have checked it out myself but went in to check it out because it was still during open hours. I will never go back to this location. I use U-Haul a lot but this experience traumatizes me a bit. I just they fix this issue; return my money and get rid of that incompetent employee.

The van was great, and the in and out process was easy and smooth. BUT, I reserved a dolly - which was quite necessary for moving the furniture I hired the van for, and the flippant "we dont have one" almost wrecked the whole plan. If there's not one available, it should not be reservable...

The site listed this as a 24 hour drop off location. Instead of choosing a location near me, I chose this location for the 24 hour drop off advantage. It was NOT DISCLOSED on the site that a $20 "convenience fee" is charged by this location for 24 hour drop off and that an app must be used at the time of drop off to avoid this "convenience fee." This is unfair business dealing, I feel.

This location was horrible, they completely offered me a horrible experience: 1. I handed in my truck well before my time and they went and set my return date a day later, then they put charges for things that I have never even asked for. This is ridiculous. 2. I called customer service and they helped but I still need to wait 4 business days to get my money back and that’s only if the manger in customer service decides to approve my well deserved refund.

the gentleman who worked for Uhaul Sunday Oct. 6th into the evening after office hours was very considerate, helpful, and went out of his way to help us with our return and so that we would not incur and additional charge for drop off. He was greatly appreciated and wanted to make note of his great customer service demeanor. ...The girl who checked the truck out in the morning at 9am however, was not the most helpful and seemed to only be there so she could say she showed up for work, and that was about it. And had an off putting attitude.

I reserved a dolley with the truck several days in advance of pickup. There was no dolley. The woman waiting on me was incredibly slow and my checkout took over 40 minutes. I had also called to confirm if I could return the truck at another Uhaul. When I got there, they said I had to bring the truck back to them which was a huge inconvenience. I would never go back there.

Horrible experience will definitely NEVER rent again. I had to wait over 40 minutes until someone got there to pick up my rental (which lead me to incite in extra expenses). Personnel was rude and unprofessional. Also had to wait almost 24 hours te get my receipt back because the people in charge weren’t bothered to close my account in time. Horrible service.

Self service, uhaul mobile is absolutely horrible. I will never use it again. Next Time I will go to a uhaul location. Ugh, never again. I was early and I left after a half hour or so. Never again. There was a couple returning their uhaul and was obviously also unhappy with the process of snapping photos and such.

Have more people working. I waited for an hour past my reservation time because there was only one person doing the uhaul transactions. Also, noone helped me back the truck out so had to try and maneuver around the gas station by myself.

This website let me reserve this location and after I went through all the drop off procedures, the staff told me they were full and not accepting more trucks. I called customer service and they told me that this location was full... why would the website let me reserve this place if it was full. I had to drive to the Bronx which wasn’t bad, just really annoying. Fix your automated procedures.

They tried to tell me that I couldn't return my truck there because they were at capacity, despite the fact that I had made arrangements to drop it off there at that time. I told them that that was their problem to resolve, not mine, and they finally let me complete the drop off, but the fact that I had to argue with them about this is very poor service.

The woman working at the Uhaul counter on August 31st was fantastic. She fixed a lot of the issues the Uhaul system messed up. I was supposed to pick up my car at 8am but the app glitched and told me I needed to wait until 9am when the office opened. This woman, was so kind, compassionate and understanding of my stress and frustration and helped me first. I cannot say enough about her. However, I do not plan to use Uhaul again.

The 100$ holding fee that was not listed prior was frustrating. The woman checked me out a van that someone else had reserved, so then had to trade me to another van. They didn’t have the furniture dolly or the other two Dolly’s for me that I had reserved. She didn’t tell me where to find my van in a two block radius.

I was cheated by the Uhaul service on 3260 broadway. Firstly, the main operator is rude and refuses to divulge any information clearly. Secondly, I was charged an additional $30 fuel refill fee. I had used up only 2 gallons of fuel, and the fuel tank still had half a tank full. I wasn't mentioned earlier that I needed to refuel it. Furthermore, the U Haul pickup is AT shell gas station, so it's not like they had to travel to refuel it. Unlike my other UHaul experiences, the ones at 3260 are so unprofessional !!

Better employees who want to work. Came in to rent a truck and was told they didn’t have any so I called customer service and they said that that location had vans. Told the location what customer service said and they magically located a van. Really bad customer service at this location. Careless employee who was scrolling through her cellphone rather than help people (if you don’t like your job get a new one)!!!

This dropoff location was fine, but the drop off system is awful. Avoid a remote drop off at all costs. I was initially assigned a different location that required driving 45 minutes out of my way. When I arrived, it turned out to not be the 24/7 remote dropoff location that I needed. I had to call customer service and eventually drive another 45 minutes to get to this final drop off location, which was an acceptable one.

Equipment was clean and the representative who helped me was really cool. The truck I got though did not have working Air Conditioner and it was a very hot and humid summer day. I recommend the location but they should look into all their trucks and fix AC.
